I remember this ad so vividly, it was on ALL THE TIME when I was a kid. Didn’t realise until today that it was a LDS ad 😂
i always knew it was Mormon, but I remember this PSA with normal American talking, not Australian accents.
they must have dubbed it for foreign releases,
They had some good ads as well on AM Radio
when this was on TV i was about 6 years old and at 0:14 i thought she said "and i flattened dads minicher gimp shed" back then i had no idea what a minicher gimp even was let alone a full sized gimp
I remember the church had ads playing over Christmas time many years ago on Australian tv during the early 2000s.
Or when they recently bought channels back then and this was playing almost all the time.
I'm 30 now and still know the ad off by heart which feels strange :P
I was raised in the church and my dad would of still beat my ass for doing that 😂
Definitely do something to your ass
Mine too!
Lmao same
I'm still trying to find the LDS commercial from the 70's -80's about a man & his wife going down the hallways toward maternity, she looks back thru every doorway and sees her future daughter at different stages of her life...used to get me every time it was on
Mitch Petruk I know the ad you mean, I'm looking for it too! We see the daughter at different stages - her first birthday, performing ballet, watching her mum put on make-up, etc.
And it had a woman singing throughout the ad. The last part was:
"I'm looking forward to
Doing things with you
For many, many years to come."
And we see the mother looking behind her as they're carrying the baby out of the hospital (the father was in a hurry), and she sees the baby at the different stages we saw earlier, the last one being her as a grown ballerina.
Then the sucker punch with the male voiceover: "As you teach her to love the world, teach her to love herself. Because that's where loving really starts. From the Church of [yadda yadda yadda]."
Anyways, it was an amazing ad, I'd love to see it again.

@@redlightmax I would like to find the commercial in which two busin8essmen are in a hurry and running through an airport, and there is a boy of about 5 years old carrying a puzzle he completed (or it is some kind of "put-together" toy like a puzzle) and one of the two grown men rushing through the airport accidentally bumps into the boy and makes him spill all the pieces of his toy on the floor. The man who bumped into the kid almost ignores him because he has to rush to catch the airplane with his since there is a flight to catch but the grown man turns around and then helps the sobbing boy put together the toy or puzzle and the boy is appreciative and the man's business buddy says something like (as best I recall it) "By God come on, We are going to miss the plane." Then the young boy asks the man who helped him "Are you God?"
I saw this commercial when I was roughly in my early teens or a few years younger (not a teen yet). I thought it was a bit odd because it was not a regular commercial for a product or service ( such as an airline) but it was a religious commercial promoting kindness. I have never been religious and had mixed feelings about this commercial. On one hand it was syrupy and preachy but on the other hand, I knew what the boy felt like and the commercial was realistic enough.
Here it is, it's 1 of the last commercials:

I actually didn't like it, because the mother seemed sad at imagining her baby growing up, yet the moral doesn't address it.

no matter what you may think about Mormons, this is good moral message.
always be honest with others and yourself. Liars are cowards with no personal integrity. you can't trust a liar and there can no meaningful relationship without trust.
Donald Trump should follow your admonition on the importance of honesty and integrity.
@@johnbowen2956 I'm not sure why you singled out Donald Trump.
maybe you have been influenced by propaganda.
I suggest prayer and repentance to soften your heart against such hate.
@@hoppyandhisholidayhelpers1714 I don't need propagandists to incite my complete contempt for Donald Trump: his words and actions are sufficient.
He has absolutely no respect for women: do you recall him bragging about his ability to touch a woman's genitalia without her consent and suffer no negative repressions from doing so?
Do you remember his intention within the first six years of his presidency of denying any Muslim a visa to enter the United States? And without cause for doing so?
Do you forget that he seriously suggested from his presidential podium that a person might consider ingesting bleachto ward off COVID?
The man is thoroughly dissolute, unapologetically ignorant, and devoid of any intellectual curiosity. His character and mind are out in the open. If you choose not to see his egregious behavior and reprehensible mentality, that is your choice. But don't tell me to close my eyes to the unethical personality and incompetent mind of Donald Trump.
I don't hate the man. Hate implies a very level of respect for its object. I feel nothing but contempt for a man without dignity and unworthy of any rational individual's esteem.
This ad got me in so much trouble. Made me tell the truth when I should have just kept my mouth shut because it was safer that way 😂😂😂😂
The fact I had to watch an ad to watch this old ad is hilarious
RUclips didn't used to play ads before videos, unless they were monetized (my videos aren't).
Someone needs to make a remix song to this for all us 90s kids right now 😂😂😂😂 imagine it 😂😂😂😂
This ad sets a very good example as to how children should never treat a real car like it's a toy because it can be very dangerous as seen in this ad.
Do you Remember on Full House when Stephanie drove Joey's car in the kitchen?
yes she went through the windshield, died, and the show ended
Probably a second or two later after this, the dad told the daughter `now go to your room and wait for me'. ( Punishment is coming...)
I can’t find an ad from the 90’s with the “How Deep is your love” song, anyone can find it?
Pops was about to give her a whooping but then he remembered he just found jesus
Thursday, Friday, ..Latter Day Love...
Because,... The Lord, Says.. The Lord. will heal You... The Will give youba Latter to Heaven, Then you Climb up To Heaven, Because The Lord ...

The PTL Jim And Tammy Fayye Bakker
Anyone have a link to the one where the family is playing in the mud and dad looks pissed?
can someone remember an ad about a biker, a black lady a payphone and and a lesson of kindness? Im sure it was religious and cheesy, I guess was from the 90´s
0:09 You think about your grandpa? Rest In Piece to the flowers
I had to rewind it 6 times... I thought for sure she said, i flattened grandpa!! 😂
Love this
i remember telling the truth instead of getting a lunch time detention i got an entire weeks worth of lunch time detention this ad is false advertising
Mate I remember being gang bashed by bullies, telling and then getting detention for being beaten.
Sometime people just take how many people said what instead of actual logic....
@@gameshark528 Who gave you detention for being BEATEN?! What the hell kind of school is that?!
if lying would have reduced your sentence, you probably deserved a week's worth for what you did.
at least you can feel proud that you fessed up and served your time. liars are cowards and you can't trust them.
I'm sure this girl got a punishment for breaking the rules, but her pa was just proud that she fessed up to the truth. that is the moral message of this PSA.
Dad I set fire to the crops because He Who Walks Behind the Rows told me to. I also smashed mom's face in with a sickle. But I told the truth.
Hahahaha this made me laugh too much 😂😂😂
I have put this video on the Facebook page LDS RUclips Videos please go Like the page.
taken on ktla
Daddy is going to spare the rod and beat the hell out of the child....
1996 ?!? REALLY MORE LIKE COLORED TV 50'S .... GOD DAM REPUGS !!!
LOLZ
CheesyTV Because (LDS) are out touch white old men. When the 50's never died & thinks there GOD BOOK give them the moral high ground on EVERYTHING
Is it a Plymouth?
My friend and I just howled with laughter when we saw this horse shit during afternoon cartoons.
Imagine living in this Mormon fruitopia where telling the truth about your drunk driving manslaughter means you get a hug.
Only if you tell the truth about it!
Weird

Racist
@@benjamingurevitch4097 I’m speaking facts. I’m black and got many beatings for minor things.
@@richardsclassiccommercials5534 Happens to anyone, I got beatings growing up too and am considered white.
