  • After a 42C day, this koala, in the Adelaide Hills, was more than happy to be given a drink of water. Afterwards, it kept trying to be picked up. We think this one is a released ex rescue.

      The HooliganHunter There’s a lady in Australia who takes care of a few Koalas and she carries them, one even gets onto her back and she’s holding another one on her hip. There’s a lot of wild animals who will climb all over you and they love attention too just like a pet at home. I’m sure it’s tempting to want to pick up this precious koala, I just have seen other videos of zoo trainers holding koalas but those koalas are much more healthier and well taken care of. This koala probably just wanted to feel safe. I hope they didn’t leave it alone after giving it water, I saw a busy street in this video.

      Koalas are smooth brained, they are all lobotomites, they don't understand anything and see people as something climbable perhaps. Also, koalas get their water intake from leafs, female koalas never actually drink water.
      They are completely useless in the ecosystem, as they taste like shit and are too toxic for predators to eat. They only eat eucalyptus of their choosing, and are picky enough that when they eat all the tastiest leafs, they simply won't eat the rest and starve to death. Them going extinct would simply be a natural selection catching up to an offensively useless animal, that sleeps for 22h a day.

      You don't understand. You are used to seeing Koalas in Zoos etc.
      Wild Koalas can be very vicious with those claws they have. This is very unusual behaviour for Koalas. The one above obviously has been half domesticated. Lived in the Trees near that property for some time. Didn't you hear the Girl. She said. "No don't come to me. I have shorts on." Those claws are sharp. Normal times try and touch a wild Koala if they even reveal themselves can be very dangerous.
      If you look even those rescuing injured Koalas after the fires throw a rug over them before trying to catch them and take them where they can be helped.
      They normally are not all that people friendly in the wild. Great to see they seem to understand 99..999% of Australians will help them in there time of need.

      As cute as they are koalas are wild animals. Human interaction is normally bad for them. Let them be wild because more often than not, we can unintentionally do them harm. They do bite and scratch, too. I adore koalas, but respect their wildness 🐨

    • @djrealdyl6894
      @djrealdyl6894 4 года назад +21

      AKIVE that’s fine but we still don’t need to touch them, they carry STDs and their claws are sharp enough to scratch without trying, that’s how they climb. It’s also illegal to pick them up

    • @sallydaniel1023
      @sallydaniel1023 4 года назад +13

      @AKIVE Agreed, but they're still wild animals and can hurt people if they try to handle them. Even the professionals say not to touch them. If they need help, you should wrap them in a blanket and transport them to a zoo or rescue. I'm not Australian, but have been there and the people said koalas generally don't like to be touched

Its the call for help and the fear these conditions bring about. Don't leave these creatures helpless and unprotected. Cherish them. One of the real natural treasures you Australians have.
