In 1971, my family (mom, dad, brother & I) went to the Northland Mall theater. It was memorable because it was one of only a handful of times we did that. We saw Fiddler on the Roof. We stopped at a store on the way to pick up snacks, which my mom hid in her purse because we couldn't afford the snacks at the concession stand. My brother and I couldn't stop giggling because we were all being naughty!
By 1977, the open areas of the Northland Mall had been completely covered over. They played local radio over the Muzak system. I had just entered the building and was about to walk into the Hudson's Department Store when the news came on. It was that moment that I learned that Elvis was dead. I wasn't a fan, but for some reason, I'll never forget it.
In 2007, I was living in Southfield and used Greenfield Road to get to work. So, I drove past the Northland Mall every weekday.
I remember going to northland mall with my family shortly after its opening, I was 10 at the time. The only thing I remember is the huge water tower and how cold it was walking from store to store! It was not an inclosed mall then.
Can you do auburn mall Massachusetts
thank you for the suggestion
I’ve heard of this mall before but have never visited.Thank you Eric!.😎
it was a remarkable place in the 1970 when I saw it. So sad how it decayed and eventually demolished. Some good memories from long ago.
That USED to be my MAIN shopping venue after downtown shopping evaporated from high school for several decades b4 I gravitated out to Oakland mall ….. I wasn't a fan of the other surrounding malls
I wasn’t aware of how ( from seeing this ) how apparently dangerous it had gotten in its wanning years I had already moved on to Oakland mall by that time
