i have so much respect for ice skaters, and athletes in general. i mean all we, the public, see, are the pretty costumes and the amazingly performed routines but behind the scenes there are hours -no, scratch that, years of training that go into those skills.

For some reason one day I decided I would like to get into figure skating, and that was the best choice of my life.

i'm 15 and i started figure skating about 3 months ago. i know i won't be as good as the professionals and i propably won't be able to compete because i started at "old" age(I quess because i know many people start at 3 or 4 year olds), but i still love figure skating so much❤

I'm going to start taking lessons soon and I'll be 25 this summer! I know I'll never be an olympian but I'm aiming for the top of the Adult Nationals circuit one day. Wish me luck~

I’m a figure skater and this video is to relatable I skate 5-6 days a week and it’s so much hard work to get enough muscle strength so that if you fall on your doubles or triples you don’t damage yourself or working up enough strength to jump the hight and distance needed

I’ve been skating for 6 months as a 17 year old, it’s my favorite activity and I will be competing in college

I'm 14 and I started skating about 3 months ago. I've wanted to skate ever since I watched Yulia Lipnitskaya and Gracie Gold at the Sochi Olympics, but my family never had enough money to put me through lessons or even take me skating. But even without having ever gone skating, I still knew I'd love the sport. Even though I started 'late' I'm still gonna keep skating to be the best I can be. I won't be any of my idols, but I can still be a great skater. I hope every else who feels too old can push through that fear and do what they love cause I've learned that it is worth every hour on the ice and every almost broken tailbone

I skate 12 hours per week and we do training off ice 3 hours per week. I could live in the ice rink, because it is a feeling of freedom in the ice, I love the competitions as well, I want to reach as high as it is possible for me😀

I've fallen in love with figure skating thanks to Yuzuru Hanyu. In the past year I've learned myself how to skate, do spins, jump (not high xd), skate on one leg and skate backwards (kinda, I'm still learning xd). But I know if I want to become better I'll need professional help. But everyone around me tells me I'm to old to do it. I'm 15 (in few months 16) and I'm starting to believe theme. I've always been a shy one and now that no one is supporting me in my dream I'm even more scared to do another step.

to think about the amount of training, tears and sweat going in these practices. i'm just amazed by the determination. I was so inspired that I decided to sit on my sofa and eat potato chips.

I love this video I've literally watched it so many times, mostly when I'm feeling down about skating (I've been skating since I was 4 and I'm in pre-juvenile) and it always motivates me and makes me want to try again and again so that's for being so amazing and creating this video. ❤❤much love😍😍

I started dancing around three years ago and I have loved it for so long. I think it’s time for something new because my passion for dance is fading and I hate that it’s not that I dint love dance it’s just the team I’m on isn’t fun anymore I will always love dance but I’m starting ice skating soon and I couldn’t be more excited. I think I’ve finally found something for me it’s dancing on ice and that’s amazing plus I like the idea of it being cold because I’m always really hot 😂 I’m 14 and I’m staying pretty late but I started dance late too so what’s stopping me.
