It always ticked me off that interviewers would always bring up his weight. They would have never done this with a woman. So rude. The greatest tenor in a hundred years and this is what they focused on. It doesn’t negate the fact that he brought joy to millions including me. Bravo Maestro.

It's like a confession. It's hard to be such a large man. Hard to move on a stage, hard to keep your body in health. He was unforgettable when his voice sounded great, maybe even younger , but his body was already suffering from Illnesses. It's a big sorrow, but thank God we have all these wonderful recordings. Riposo in pace.

What a wonderful person he must have been, to admit that perhaps he could have looked after his body more. But we all forgive him because his gorgeous voice brought joy to millions in Italy and around the world, and it still does nearly 11 years after his death in Modena in 2007. If I am feeling down , Pavarotti's great voice is sure to life my mood. In interviews over the years he always came across as a lovely man, generous, humble, kind and intelligent. He performed all over the world and helped to raise vast sums of money for charity. Invited to sing at Princess Diana's funeral in 1997, he declined because he felt he would not be able to sing well "with grief in my throat". Wish I had heard him live, but thankfully we have a mountain of recordings to enjoy.

HE IS A GREAT MAN. HE WAS HONEST ABOUT ANYTHING PEOPLE QUESTIONED HIM, EVEN IF THEY CRITICIZED HIM. HE STILL ANSWERED WITH RESPECT AND HONESTY. I LOVE THIS MAN. NEVER CAN FORGET HIM. HE IS TRULY A LEGEND IN THE MUSICAL FIELD BUT ALSO A WONDERFUL MAN. RIP MY DEAR LOVING IDOL. NOBODY CAN SURPASS THIS MAN. HIS VOICE IS UNIQUE ONE AND ONLY

How sad he felt that way about himself. His critics were very uncharitable sometimes I think.

Pavarotti has no peer////////even Caruso at his best cannot be compared with Pavarotti's instrument.

obviously Luciano had a big insatiable appetite...and he liked to eat well...I think he was a bit addicted to food...I think at the expense of the voice...and the limitation of the voice...at least in his case...
neglected and didn't take care of his body enough and thus accumulated several health problems...but this is his personal problem...even though he is actually a public person...this is an attack on his personality...
I would forbid any journalist from giving in to an interview...
Maestro Pavarotti was very well aware of this problem with diet...and on the other hand with insufficient movement...he subordinated everything to singing and maintaining singing condition and voice quality...
