Oh Wow......this is stunning. Up close & personal! She was in great form & voice in 1979. Love that subtle "Oooooohhh" at 3:29....one of those easily overlooked jewels she drops here & there.
I think this was the only TV show that dusty performed baby blue! It's a shame cause she does it so well and probably with more TV promotion it could have done better than reach 60 in the UK charts! She never performed it on UK TV!! Thanks for this great clip. She sings Close my Eyes so much better than in 1973 when she sang it on They Sold A Million....she looks better, more relaxed and happy!!
I wasn't joking. It was a compliment.Dusty was excellent at miming...most TV shows in the 1960s required singers to do this and that is where she learnt this skill. Dusty would have taken it as a compliment....sorry the comment upset you!
She also performed 'Baby Blue' at the Royal Albert Hall earlier that month just a shame she didn't promote two months earlier when it was released. It peaked number 61 in the UK charts so it could have potentially done much better had it been promoted and people were aware of it in the charts! As for 'I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten' there is no question about it should have went to number 1 back in 1968 but number 4 is still and a great accomplishment!
'Baby Blue' could have been a big hit if Dusty had promoted it properly but she didn't do anything! She was booked to appear on TOTP but failed to turn up! Silly Dusty!

She's miming. still good though.
I sometimes think it's more difficult to mime WELL than to sing live. Let's face it Dusty was Queen of Mime 🐈
