Good point about the 1000 year in the future or just , what is “modern day”
Still in a galaxy far away but just not that long ago.

Star wars was a pretty good idea but it's also really important to consider how Russia would react. Maybe the sequel will work out, but it's been a long time and people might not be ready for it.

agreed,if was running 🐭l would jettison the current Lucas Film staff and replace them with individuals who respect and care about GL storyline s/lore,in other words NERDS,l would set any new features/storylines hundreds of years in the future, maybe even using characters from SW Legends(Cade Skywalker,Darth Talon, etc)l
would do away with DEI(l’m a bro btw)and just tell good well written stories 🤔

I wish 7-9 had the original twins storyline and Luke’s wife. But we got this instead.

I have no idea why Disney wanted to reboot the entire extended universe. Whether it was part of the agreement with George when they purchased or just something they implemented afterwards, they definitely drew a clear line what they decided to be legends.
They could have easily pick and chose who and what events they kept to keep things exciting. But to completely kill it all… they needed to make a better story then and I think they failed at that.

Two things. KOTOR is 3000 years before ANH, not 1000. And. Anything past 150ABY is no longer Star Wars. It just some space opera. As book 1 says on the cover from November of ‘76, ‘from the adventures of Luke Skywalker.’ So in telling, Star Wars is Luke Skywalker (George Lucas). What Disney failed to understand in the acquisition is this. If it ain’t broke?…don’t fix it. Stay to the formula. And the formula is the Expanded Universe. In your point to fix Star Wars. With your 1K year suggestion, you’ve lost Star Wars altogether. ✌🏾

My bad on the KOTOR time jump… haven’t played it in a long time.
If they had kept true to Luke, I may not have hated 7-9 as much. They had him in 1 minute of 7 and made him a grump who ends up dying in 8.
I think if they had rolled into 7-9 under Lucas fairly soon after episodes 1-3 came out, his original vision would have been better than what Disney gave us.
      I appreciate your comment.

@ now, this is just my opinion. But if they did initiate an EU narrative after Kathleen Kennedy is gone of course. I wouldn’t start with HTTE. It’s like serving a main course of Wagyu beef before any appetizer or other part of the meal. For a big cinematic feature, I’d start with The Courtship of Princess Leia. All the story and check boxes Lucasfilm ‘needs’ would be properly addressed. Story first. Character development instead of assassination. Action, spectacle, romance and political intrigue leading to butts in seats. For Disney+, on the animated side I would greenlight Young Jedi Knights. With Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta as consultants. Securing the younger audience with the introduction of the Solo children and their friends. As well as your big name drop cameos. I mean…Mara Jade IS Jaina Solo’s Master for crying out loud. You’ve got the little boys (Jacen, Anakin and Zekk) the little girls (Jaina and Tahiri) plus both genders annnnd the disabled crowd 🙏🏽(Tenel Ka). It’s a formula for absolute success.
