The " great" Tommy Smith made his life hell with his bullying, racist and nasty behaviour. But then he was well known for horrid behaviour.

You’re talking about a man from a different era. I’m not saying Smith is right, he’s 100 percent wrong but it was common place then. If Smith was born in todays society he wouldn’t have those disgusting racist tones.

Tommy Smith was many things . To describe him as a racist is not to touch the surface . He was intolerant of many things including mediocrity . He may have expressed these in different ways . He hated Emily hughes

By watching some videos of Liverpool playing Champions league 1981 I saw Howard playing the last minutes of the games as a residual player, when he came into the pitch I noticed not other players came close to him to play passes and do some team work attacking. Clearly disgusting racist approach, there is not excuse just because it happened more than 40 years ago, racism still call the shots these days.

Howard also 1st black player for Newcastle Utd and Fulham & 2nd or 3rd black player to play for Sunderland so trailblazer indeed.
