As a training electrician, just because the socket is low level, doesn’t mean the cable will run up from the floor. It’s actually common for the cables to be run through the loft and down the wall so it was a silly assumption to make. Also, I’m amazed the bedroom fitter has obviously never heard of electrical ‘safe zones’ which means the cable can be run vertically or horizontally in line with the socket so why he thought it was a good idea to try and put screws in the safe zones, I don’t know.

I’d strongly recommend that leg of the socket ring to be replaced as hidden joints like that in the wall will cause massive problems
