- We put the 2022 Honda Foreman Rubicon 4x4 Auto DCT EPS Deluxe to the test in this video. A dual-clutch automatic transmission sets this ATV apart from its rivals, but does it make it better or worse? Let's find out more about this Honda ATV.

I have a 2022 Rubicon and the 520 engine is great and the quad is unstoppable. Honda just needs to open up the top end speed a bit to satisfy more buyers.
I agree my 2013 foreman is much faster than this new offering .
Hard to believe in 2019 I bought a Honda Pioneer 700-4 with a 12,700 price tag. And now a smallish ATV cost almost as much.
The elites are getting hungrier, when we want more money we have to work more hours, they just blast us with higher prices and blame it on a head cold .
Thanks for reviewing ATV's; pretty rare these days. Most of the focus is on SXS's.
I'd love to see someone do a long term review on this machine with some actual hours on it. I bought mine , identical to this in june '22. The second machine I'd purchased from a super knowledgeable dealer who told me its ok now when new , but will be a different machine at 100-120 hrs. He wasnt wrong. The shifts are seamless. Engine smoother with a better mid range power curve, and out handles bigger machines all day. Put a good set of tires on them and drive them hard and long. Thats the only way to own a honda. If you only plan to put a couple hours on them, you wont get the butter smooth shifts. Theyre meant for long term with no problems. Mine has been bullet proof, just take care of it.
i just rolled 5,000 miles on my rubicon DCT
Thanks that makes me more enthusiastic to buy the Rubicon after owning a 1998 Honda Foreman 4x4 all the time and no power steering but an awesome machine in the bush!!
Love the Honda Rubicon Deluxe. I bought a new 2022 last year. Honda is the best for long-term!!! My profile pic is showing a Honda Rincon which I gave to my son in law, just before I picked up the new ATV. You can't beat a Honda!!!
Honestly better reviews than dirttraxxx
And better than TFL
If DirtTrax is anything like their snowmobile show SnowTrax, I’d believe that.
Dirttrax leaves you with the feeling that some companies have slid some $ under the door. Here you can trust you are getting an honest review.
I have a 21 Rubicon DCT and love it. It's great for work and trail riding. It's not great for running logging roads, it's just too slow. The new reverse switch is awesome. I don't think it skips neutral in the gear box. I think it just actuates through neutral down to reverse for you. When I use it you can hear it switch through two gears. I've been a little too quick on the throttle and stalled it out whike it was making the second gear change. Thanks for the video. Really apreciate you guys covering honda products. Other channels are brand sponsored and keep making bias reviews and then saying they aren't bias. Hahhahaha
I was just wondering how fast does a person really want to be running on what I no to be a logging road any way?
I love Honda because it is reliable. I am thinking of the Rubicon lately and I have a 2013 rancher 420 4x4.
After stopping at a dealer today. I believe I'm sold on the Rubicon. Thanks for the review.
Glad I could help
Nice review. Loving my ‘21 Rubicon Deluxe. It’s been great for work around the house, especially snow plowing.
I have same machine. Climbing beast. Havent needed a winch yet.
I got one and love it so much that I got a second one on the way
Love mine.
I bought 2 of the deluxe rubicons in June. Great machines. Rides great, but the engine really is revving high in 5th gear at 35mph. I still have an ‘01 and ‘02 rubicon that I bought new 20 years ago. Still running great. 8k miles on both. Only batteries and oil changes. That’s it. The old machines are faster by 3 lengths up to 40mph. The new ones fall on their face and the old ones just keep going to nearly 60 mph.
How fast do your new rubicons go?
Maybe 60kph... not mph... I don't think there's a honda atv that goes above 45mph without winding the crap out of it...
Another great no BS review! You clearly and specifically target the question of buying a Honda: is the reliability worth the mark up? The answer is "Yes, if what you want is a competent machine that works hard, but won't win any sprint races. You may, however win the hyper-marathon".
Edit: grammar
I’m still riding an 05 Rancher ES 350 so this Rubicon 520 would be a huge all around upgrade for me. Maybe when this one dies, but it’s a Honda so it’s probably never going to happen.
they should update the rincon.. make its engine a little more exciting, give it diff lock and power steering and if possible, use this chassis even and that would wake a lot of honda fan boys up. if its good enough, id be looking too.
This makes three good reviews of some good machines. Perhaps you could do some sort of cross-comparison using the footage these videos to evaluate them vs the existing atv you already own. For me the question is largely whether buying new or used is more worthwhile. If there is no change in a model for several years, is it worth getting a new one? Or do they hold value so well that an old one is too expensive? Do any of these machines work so well that they justify replacing your own functional older atv, whatever the brand? Go deep into that Elmer expertise for us! That would make this channel even better!
Well, if any channel on RUclips is going to address your query, this is THE source.
Liam , great idea. in the meantime I can offer one tip. when buying used I spend as much time evaluating the owner as I do the machine. some owners beat their at s. others neglect maintenance. However you will find older guys who keep there equipment in pristine condition. that,s the guy to buy from.
GREAT REVIEW, BUT, HONDA, STILL NO 2 UP QUADS!!! OR A SIX WHEELER QUAD!!
Really. Considering purchasing a new 4 Wheeler and Honda is number one on my list... And from one fellow youtuber To the next what a good well produced video.
HAPPY THURSDAY...HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Thanks looking to purchase one in January 2025
Good video & sweet color!
Thanks!
Can you imagine how much Honda would sell if they had a twin 750-850? I know I'd probably have one. 70-75 HP. Would be sweet.
Same!
That would be awesome
Short term we just need an updated Rincon. And yea I'd love to see a 800 twin 2up workhorse.
I would like to see them step it up a bit, maybe go to a 620 and add a 6th gear. I love my 2021 Honda Rubicon, but I would like to see them step them up just a notch or two. All and out a great machine, love riding them
Geared to low, but I still love it.
I had a Rubicon with the solid rear axle was looking for a softer ride upgrade looked at the new Rubicon was a way better ride than my old one but i tried all the quads except Polaris haha The grizzly hands down had the nicest ride and really liked the performance the best also but one thing that stopped me buying the Rubicon in manual mode it wood still down shift automatically at low speeds
What happened to Honda's 650 and 680? The 680 was still listed in 2021. Keep up the good work.
In the United States you can still buy the Rincon 680. It's been unchanged for 10 plus years though
@@OutworldEmperor Another Canada thing!
I have a rubicon FGA 2006 45000 km why I dont want a new one? cose mine goes 95 km/h so on the gravel road at 75 km/h it is not red line...
Honestly think they should throw the 680 in that frame
How is the fuel range on a full tank. (I know different terrains/riding styles and 4x4 plays a roll.) Just looking for an average.
Wish i could afford a Honda!
Can’t beat gears!
3:40... one of Hondas weaknesses... the cover over your radiator is missing. You can see it missing in front of the handlebars in the center. Poor setup for that.
I wish they would update the rincon. The rubicon is nice, super reliable but it’s underpowered in my opinion.
Got a 2019 dct. 500. Plenty fast enough. Don’t understand. Speed kills. My machine goes plenty fast enough for me
Ive had 2 of these but switched to the grizzly. Much softer ride on the Yamaha. I wonder how the suzuki 750 kingquad compares??
Kind of disappointed in the top speed , my 2013 Foreman is much faster than a 2023? Shouldn’t it be slower? I’m keeping my 2013.
I have a honda trx700xx. Fastest atv ever made. I'm still jealous of anyone who has this
Huh?
is it top heavy over a solid axle foreman?
520cc's isn't big enough for trail riding? So much frustration! ...
I’m actually in a market for one in about 3 weeks…unfortunately there isn’t a new one within 500 miles from me. Foreman’s and ranchers…no rubis
did you find a atv yet?
At that price it should have front dif lock
I'M A FAN OF HONDA BUT THE FOOTRESTS TOO SHORT..ESPECIALLY SEMI-AUTOMATIC..IN SHOES ITS OKAY BUT IN CAPE BOOTS WITH BIG FEET.. IT'S NOT REALLY PASSING
Honda is the best. Honda is not making a big bore it's because they know something that other companies don't know.lols. That's why I don't trust 1000cc atv because honda is not making 1000cc atv. I have to ask myself, is this brand known better than honda? I don't think so.lols
6:25 Did Honda discontinue their 675 cc Rincon?
No, they still sell it. Nobody really wants it though as it not been updated in years. It is still only 3 speeds and is more of a "work" machine. The Rubicon is better in every way.
They discontinued it years ago up here in Canada
@@rubicondickweed A “work” machine without a low range, eh?
They make a rincon 680
Rincon has had no changes for many years. More than a decade i believe. no power steering, only 3 speeds, no low range, outdated cluster, no front diff lock. Any older and it would have 3 wheels.
The Honda Rincon is 680cc. The Rubicon is not the most powerful in the range.
The obstacles you selected for testing the Rubicon are weak ! . . . A 2x4 atv could do the samething. . .
Honda lost loads of buyers with only a 520 engine. I bought the Yamaha grizzly for the 700 for less money.
If they would add another gear or taller gearing the 520 wouldnt be that bad, it needs to go 60 mph not 48. It's more the lack of top speed than a lack of power keeping people away from the hondas, hitting the rev limiter and not keep up on dirt roads sucks.
A yamaha grizzly is more money than a honda rubicon with dct by $700
I feel there are too many downfalls to Honda, engine size and power, ground clearance, tires, receiver hitch, gauge, rack capacity, no 2 up options. Direct drive is a plus. If your intended use is light property travel, then probably okay for you, road running to a buddies house. Not a work unit or moderate to aggressive trail machine. Keep it simple like they build it and you will probably love a Honda.
I only watch till 2:58 not gonna watch 3 minutes of commercials sorry….
underpowered, boring, and rides like a dumptruck.
It rides pretty good but you're right about the other stuff lol.
Thats what i was looking for. Getting mine in blue
You're not wrong, but you forgot Dead reliable while the others have issues.
Doesn't go fast but goes forever.
Love mine
