高校生の頃東京文化会館の資料室でハイティンクとバーンスタインのマーラーの7番を
聴き比べていました。あの青春時代の一コマは厭世的な世界観の中夢遊病者のように
この曲に浸りきっていました。ハイティンクのマーラーに向ける情愛とそれに答える
コンセルトヘボウの厚みある弦と金管の黄金の音色！は半世紀たった今でも私の中で
躍動してます。
最終楽章の出だしが大好きです。目が覚めます。私はヨーロピアンメロディックデスメタルのアーチ・エネミーが好きですが、クラッシックも愛好。マーラーなら2番。最後はボロ泣き。
One of the greatest performances in history! Haitink was marvelous and loved by millions around the world! The audience gives a roasing standing ovation for this historic Christmas Night Performance in the great year of 1985 !!!!!
The audience could have applauded for 2 hours they were so happy and delighted because it was that good !!!!!

This performance is by far the best rendition of this epic symphony! The orchestra, the conductor (may he rest in peace) plus the fantastic enthusiastic audience are top of the line and Superb beyond anything imaginable!!!!! BRAVO !!!!!

What I noticed here is Hatink at his best ages controlled the speed and balance pretty well. Legendary performance. I'm a big fan of Mahler and show up at several live performances he conducted last ten years.
