  • Vancouver’s Courtney Bercan loves to travel - she’s visited over 60 countries - and as a Doctors Without Borders nurse she’s managed to put her affinity and skills to great use in some of the world’s grimmest circumstances. This Prevailer has gone from practicing in British Columbia’s northern rural communities to scooping refugees from the Mediterranean Sea, and has also started blogging to document her incredible experiences. More on understanding privilege and how celebrating the little things has changed her life and positively affected the lives of many others.

These type of charity organizations are so cool. I really want to go into that when I become a licensed registered nurse.

I wonder what MSF book she read that inspired her. I'm sure they are all great, but there are quite a few mentioned on the MSF website.
Also, great video, but the audio is a bit too loud compared to the volume of her voice.

Why add music under vocals? I support Doctors Without Borders.

I'm so sadden by seeing all those children with cleft lips that one evening as i was in the shower i asked God to tell me why that is happening, well i got an answer. Immediately i was told "fish". It seems those people consume lots of fish, so when these mothers who are pregnant of course they have to prepare that fish by cleaning it and, as they do that the fishes mouth is cut in whichever way they choose to do so. And that is why all those children are coming into the world at birth with the problem of cleft lips. Maybe these mothers-to-be need to be told they should not prepare any fish while they are pregnant, or to ask someone to assist them in cutting the fishes mouth. I do hope someone will read this who can pass it on. Thank you!
