    Holy crap, this is way different compared to my method!
    I used 1/2" x 2 1/2" wood to make the overall frame and added a door hinge to the moving section of my toe to my shoes, which I recently changed to a pair of cheap Wal-Mart rain boots. It turned out to be kinda heavy but still maneuverable. But watching your method gave me the inspiration to redo my platforms. I have never thought of making the costume's feet bend like that!
    Keep up the good work!

    The amount of ingenuity and engineering for your gundam cosplay is amazing , extremely well thought out. Also I like how you breakdown parts of your costume like it's pieces of gunpla from a sprue tray!

    Awesome explanation! Is the whole suit made with 1mm as well?

    • @uberscosplay
      @uberscosplay  5 лет назад +2

      The majority of the unicorn is 1mm sintra, though it is layered in various parts that need some extra strength. It used eva foam for certain parts and the torso is fiberglass reinforced as well.

      In total they are about 2.5 lbs each. My ankles are very thankful for that ^^

    So sick! Thanks for sharing! Hey can you please tell me: did the toes ever overextend when walking?
    Like, after wearing the suit for a while, did the foam wear out and the toe started sagging downward when you lift your foot off the ground? Or did the foam do a good job of staying flat when your feet lift?
    Also, I was curious if the furniture risers ever had any issues staying attached to the foam?
    I'm working on a Shining Gundam cosplay and taking ideas from other smart people like yourself. I love the flexible toe idea (for the ability to roll your foot for poses).
    Thanks so much!

      I didnt have a probelm with the toes starting to sag, the toe is so light it just never came up. In total the feet only weight slightly over 2 lbs each. As for attaching the risers to the foam i used strips of foam to sandwhich the lip of the riser to the foam sole of the feet. That way they arent secured with just the glue but are locked into the foam very tightly as well. Good luck on your shining! I have been meaning to make a g gundam suit for some time now.

      @@uberscosplay There are a lot of great G Gundam suits for sure! It was the first Gundam anime I ever watched as a kid. This year I'm making a basic suit out of EVA foam. But before Sept 2024 I'm making a Shining Gundam suit with moving parts that can turn into Super Mode Shining Gundam LOL it's gonna be so sick.
      I'm already subscribed; if you ever get around to making one of the G Gundam suits, we'd love to see. Your Gundam work all looks awesome.
      Thanks so much for replying, and for the helpful info! Great tips, I appreciate it.
