Stepping into a Boeing spacecraft..
Proof that astronauts are the bravest human beings in and off this world.
That's my take on this too! Yikes!!
Sad, but true.
Humans suck
There are 10s of thousands of boeing aircraft flights that occur every day. No hablo fu(tardo!
Boeing!🤣
When I was a kid in the sixties I always watched the Launches. I still enjoy this.
For what? What a useless waist of materials to show who has to e bigger d . The f they going up there for if not making anything or setting up shop
I can only imagine how wild it would have been to watch the first launches. I was born in 85, but it's always exciting to watch these. Stuff like this is what inspired me to study Physics/Astrophysics in college, and hopefully it does the same to the next generation.

So many of the things that make up our current technology were developed during the space race.
What we need to do is stop the proliferation of the human animal.
Too many people are our real problem.
Yeah.
Remember the Apollo patches that we collected from breakfast cereal boxes and pestering our mothers to buy Tang instant orange drink because it was what the astronauts drank, and the school lunch boxes embossed with NASA/ Mercury/Apollo/ Saturn V / lunar module graphics? It really was a commercialization thing looking back. We definitely knew how to do that better than the Soviets.
Takeoffs and landings are the most worrisome. I’ve watched these for decades and I barely breathe during the launch and landing. Brave and dedicated crew. Bravo for the new pump!
I only ever watch them after I know they were successful. I’m a little too nervous about watching them given past events
Those shots of the rockets igniting is always special.
Yeah, look at the failed Soyuz MS 10 mission, thank god for launch escape systems

It helps when they have the bolts to tighten.

It's the same corporate mindset tho. Like do u really trust GM building hybrid tanks. I don't think so
Dont tell the flat earthed you can see the curve
It’s the COVID Vac that cause you to see the curve….🤣🤣🤣
You can't convince flat earth people with silly things like evidence.
Flat earthers would probably say that curve is just the edge of the flat round plate that we live on. Or that it is lense distortion.
They will say is "photoshopped" :D
The earth is curved but sorry, no human has ever been to space before and it is still the case.
They even installed camera’s for us to view something during the launch ! What an achievement. Let’s cross our fingers for a safe mission.
Why do you add an apostrophe to "camera's"? Just add the letter s, it's a simple plural.
Cameras on space launches aren’t anything new. SpaceX streams literally every launch from multiple cams

At the end? That was of course a simulation using telemetry data from the spacecraft.

Nothing compares to watching the space shuttles back in the day
Except Artemis which will take astronauts to the moon next year. The first launch was amazing to see from just a few miles away.
I mean Starship certainly does, at least imo. Though hopefully nothing occurs like the Challenger takeoff we watched live in my elementary school classroom. RIP
I remember watching the first trip to the moon. I have never been more proud, scared, anxious and thrilled!
Seeing 2 falcon heavy boosters come back and land in unison certainly tops space shuttle for just awe value.

Well done NASA. Well done Boeing! What an incredible sight!
A few years late because of shoddy business practices. That’s a nope from me.

Nappi added that for the rest of the year, Boeing is focused on getting certified for the Starliner 1 mission.
When asked about the relationship between Boeing and SpaceX, long viewed as a rivalry, Mark Nappi, the vice president and program manager of the Commercial Crew Program for Boeing, said he believes others see it as a competition.

Flawless lift off.
I genuinely wasn’t expecting this. So glad to finally fiiiiiiiiiinalllllyyyyy see them take off and my god was it beautiful
chatGPT explains: The Boeing Starliner launch is significant for several reasons:
Historic First: This launch marked the first time astronauts were carried by Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, making it a historic liftoff1.
Commercial Crew Program: It’s a crucial milestone for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, aiming to have two American commercial vehicles for astronaut missions to the ISS1.
Operational Certification: The mission, known as Crew Flight Test (CFT), involves astronauts spending about eight days at the ISS to put Starliner through tests toward operational crew certification1.
Technical Milestone: It’s the first time astronauts have launched atop an Atlas V rocket in its 22-year flight history1.
Industry Confidence: A successful mission would boost confidence in the commercial space industry’s ability to support operations in Earth’s orbit, allowing NASA to focus on future missions to the Moon and beyond2.
This launch is a pivotal step in advancing human spaceflight and expanding commercial access to space. It represents a collaborative effort between NASA and Boeing and is a testament to the progress in space exploration technology.
Boeing isn't the company it once was, greed guides it's leadership.

Its an Atlas V rocket. It has 100 launches and a 100% success rate. Better than the Falcon 9...
@@akyhneYes but the spacecraft itself was built by Boeing. The company that forgets to tighten bolts and stuff.
@@jmb9506 Yes, that's my point. It's reliable and made by Boeing and another company.
@@akyhne I meant the capsule. Also thats not a fair comparison at all. the Atlas 5 has 100 launches and 0 failures. Falcon has had over 300 launches since it's last failure in 2015. Far more successful in every aspect. They have landed the falcon more times than the Atlas has flown.

The word historic is used excessively.
Once this mission is in the past, how else would you describe it?
...actually...too much talk in general. I want to see the spacecraft not someone endlessly droning on holding a model.
@@annoyed707 What I am saying, and I will try to make it as clear as I can for you, is that the word is often abused to imply something other than its definition.
It can be abused to imply importance and value that is not shared by everyone. Marketing companies and sensationalist journalism often abuses it too.
I can do it by claiming that reducing the price on my used lawn mower from $100,000 to $98,000 is historic. I could do that to imply that you would be absolutely nuts not to jump on that value and purchase it.
Do you understand now?
Two dead whistleblowers in a row. I bet that’s historic too.
This is the first crewed launch of the first human rated heavy-lift rocket whose purpose is to go beyond Earth orbit since Apollo. Human rated, heavy-lift, and beyond Earth orbit are the key words here. That's pretty historic. All the other launch vehicles you have seen from other current manufacturers are built for low Earth orbit.

While Elon Musk may be a clown, Space X is certainly doing more for the space program than any other entity in the U.S. Space X has how many flights to the ISS? And, they reuse boosters many times over. So, calling Space X a clown company is a bit disingenuous.

I am glad Sunita Williams’ patience has at long last paid off with this launch. But the launch may not be the most dangerous part of the flight - the Starliner craft on its previous flights had problems once in space and so I hope the work they undertook to make Starliner as safe as possible will finally pay off over the course of the flight. I was not worried about the launch - the Atlas rocket is as safe and reliable as it is possible for a rocket to be.
Good luck to Sunita WIlmore and Butch WIlmore - they have shown exceptional courage, even for astronauts, and let us hope they return safely following a successful flight.
