This song brings me to tears all the time for some reason. The whole trilogy (Bastard, Funeral, The Death of Music) is pure art.
Bastard never feels like a 10 minute song
This was a great gig to witness in person, also this trilogy was the end of a 2 and 1/2 hour show, the sound was amazing in the venue too.

Devin is by far the most underrated Canadian musician. He is almost a ghost in his own country and that fact is really sad. He and I are in our early 50's and I have been following him since SYT. He is an incredible human being. Hello from Ottawa, Ontario. Bastard is my favorite musically of the trilogy. Other songs have more impactful lyrics, or meaning to me, but the music of Bastard I fell for right away. I love that guitar and the tone he gets as you said. Devy has been a huge find for me this year, one I might not have made had it not been for this channel. To see the evolution of Devin's work as well, and that it continues to change, is so awesome. Ty to the requestor who brought Devin here, I'm grateful to have found him. ♥and all.

I saw him live and it is honestly incredible
I follow Devin since his beginning in the 90 ties. First in the project Strapping Young Lad and than this project. I love his work because much of them are mirror my feelings. I was diagnosed bipolare and I read somewhere Devin has something similiar. That bind me more to his work understand from one ill to another
