Another great video guys! I've never understood this whole "Tom never played one like that!" rhetoric that you get in the TD guitar community. If we're going down that road, then only ONE out of the 4 colours available in his signature model are 100% in the configuration that Tom used, and that's Surf Green.
I might be wrong but I think there's a recorded performance of him playing the graffiti yellow one, I think most people mistake him playing the surf green one for him actually playing the seafoam green one, he did play surf green but I think a lot of pictures are the seafoam one.

So the signature isn't 100% like his, since it's a rosewood fretboard and standard scale length. Also with the Seafoam, it's a popular misconception. He never actually owned a Seafoam Green Strat. He had 2 main green ones: One with a hardtail bridge, punker inlays and a red Hurley sticker at the bridge (Surf Green) and then he had an early prototype with a 2-point trem which was actually a custom mixed green, lighter than Surf or Seafoam (it's actually closer to Aged Sweet Pea). The difference in greens makes people think the Trem one was Surf and the Hurley one was Seafoam, but the Hurley one was definitely Surf.

That black custom strat is not for me but i think its still pretty bad ass! All red hardware (same as the knob) might be cool too. I have a surf green from 02, got it when i was 13 and still have it. The black neckplate is actually super sick. Although I do wish it would’ve gotten black locking tuners as opposed to the kluson style. The silver wraps on the post kind of throw off the headstock look to me, especially with the black nut and string tree. Gonna try for one!

If you guys get the guitar, please show us the case and all that comes with it. I love this channel and love the fact that there are people who love gear as much as I do. Also I hope they do a limited shell pink Strat. But I’ll wait on that starcaster for as long as it takes.

I don’t know if this is 100% correct, but I was told that the smallest batch order that Fender will do for custom Mexico runs are 300. I believe that’s why Mark does his limited bass runs in batches of 300. They don’t do more than that at a time in case it doesn’t all sell. Does this sound right to anyone? A guy at Guitar Center told me this about some limited Guitar Center runs.
Shit I wished I could’ve of afforded to get this one cause the BCR Strat is my favorite and this is pretty close to that. My favorite color. Just not great timing for me personally cause I’m kinda broke right now 😂. So I’m really just gonna have to hold on till the Starcaster gets here. 😭
They sold out in a minute. Tom delonges instagram says they will have more limited edition versions coming soon. Sounds like they will be making more in different colors.
Great video guys. My only problem with this build is for then to use the locking tuners $150 on the Starcaster and charge 1199. And then use Vintage Tuners $30 on this one and charge $1500. I know if they Tom did it for aesthetic purposes? which makes 0 sense to me...... but yeah thats my only issue with this build. Also question for you guys when Tom uses a String Roller on EVERY single guitar he plays live... and its literally $1 to just put a string roller on there instead of a string tree. On EVERY SINGLE PRODUCTION MODEL! MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO ME?! Could you guys possibly add your 2 cents onto this?
Great videos guys. I can't say I hate the guitar or love it. I personally think Signature guitars are collectors items. And if you're an up and coming band, I feel like a custom makes you look like a little kid, and if you're an adult, it makes you look kinda lame. But at home, showing your friends, recording with it, all GOOD. Growing up in the early 2000's in high school, I can say that playing your signature was kinda lame. Anyway, great work!

The green reissue strat with a fender hard case cost me £1410 This would cost £1,543.36 with all the shipping/import,etc. So for an extra £150..it's limited, a case you can't get and signed cert...i think it's worth it
I have no issues with the price for what you get. I am collector of many things and the concept is cool. But to me this just does not “feel” like a Tom Delonge Strat. In my opinion this is an advertisement for Tom’s brand, To The Stars using his Strat as the base model that he designed. It’s a way to drive traffic to his company and website. It’s a smart marketing strategy and business move on his part for the busiest shopping day of the year. The guitar itself to me is no different than when a brand approaches Fender for a colab for advertising. The only thing, those guitars are usually given away, raffled off or used for charity, not sold individually. But this is just my take.
