In today's video and post I have some tips for using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I don't know why I don't use these markers more often! I love how nearly fluorescent the colors are are! For real, the pictures don't even do the colors justice! I stamped and white heat embossed images from Tim Holtz's Flower Garden stamp set. Heat embossing images before watercoloring is one of my favorite techniques. The embossed edges of the stamp resist any watercolor so it makes it super easy to paint quickly.
The Zig marker colors I used for the coloring are: Light Carmine, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Red Wine, Mid Green, and Warm Gray. All are included in the 48 pack, which is the only pack I own (links to stores below).

Kristina, you're such a talented artist...you remind me of my (adult) daughter as both of you seem to create such beautiful artwork. I have all these supplies you used here, however my results are not even close to yours in my opinion..mine are nice but not stunning like yours! I started stamping way back in the early 80's mostly because I cannot draw or freehand paint anything, which always seemed to confuse my mother as I was the only one in the family who couldn't, lol. Here I am years later still stamping and thrilled that I can make lovely cards and gifts because I am able to use the artwork that someone else drew that was made into a stamp. While I will never be the artist that you are, I thank you for always being so helpful with all the information that you provide in your videos as they have helped me create better cards etc. Now...if only I had your talent and your gorgeous handwriting!! Thank you again Krisitina for all your beautiful and informative videos! xxx

Just thought you'd like to know that the reason they don't seep into the paper as fast as some other watercolor papers is because Arches is considered to be pretty "hard sized" out of the watercolor paper companies (meaning they use a bit more sizing than others, giving artists a longer working time before the paper starts to pull the paint into its surface.) Also, even with the hard sizing, hot pressed surfaces tend to absorb a tad faster so you made a great choice with the Arches Cold Pressed paper for the markers.
Also, I continue to love your videos!

Dear Kristina,Just had to leave a comment about your gorgeous project here with the Tim Holtz Flower garden Stamps and the wonderful Zig Real Clean Color Markers. Kristina in my opinion this is probably your most beautiful painting yet. I watch all of your videos and I am always just so amazed with your God given creative flair and talent. I admire your creations so much. I only wish that I could paint and stay within the lines. It is something that I never have been able to do. I thought you also chose an excellent stamp to use as the stamp set has some amazing possibilities. You have truly brought everything to life in your interpretation using these stamps with the fabulous markers. I really have to get the set and have a play with them. I have a nice collection of Copics. I think that I have 74 all together but I loved the brush tips on the markers which you used. I just wanted to let you know how much I love your creations Kristina, and I also love your Mail Call as well. It is such fun seeing all the beautiful cards which people and children send to you. You are certainly an true inspiration to all who follow you Kristina, and I am so glad that I am one of them.Take care and be well Kristina and I will surely be looking for so much more in the future from you.Sincerely,Trish in New Zealand ♥

I am learning so much from watching your videos. I can't draw very well, so I love stamping and embossing. I have also wanted to try printing my layout from the many different stamp designs I have then using a glue pen to emboss over the lines from my printer, so I could put together a large piece printed on watercolor paper. I would love to see you do something like this to show us how well it can be done.

Great job Kristina. Its very beautiful. It seems harder to get a looser watercolor painting style with these markers but they are by far the best I've tried, much better than the Tim Holtz markers. The tips are so fine, really great for detailed work and small areas like small flower petals, leaves etc. At first I could not get the colors from these markers to move very well at all on mixed media paper, then I tried Bristol Vellum which was much better, then I tried Bristol Smooth and the surface of the paper is shredding after my third layer, uggghh. The best results I'm getting are with cold press watercolor paper, and only if I use a wet on wet approach, otherwise I can't get the colors to move at all. I'm shocked that you could use these on cold press watercolor paper, wow. Did you start off with water first, ie. wet on wet, with your first flower, or your first layer for each flower? It was hard to tell from the video.
