- The Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra put on an absolutely thrilling disiplay of steelpan music at this year's Panorama Preliminary Judging round. The band played the tune "Witch Doctor" by calypsonian The Mighty Sparrow. The arrangement was done by the young and very talented, Dante Pantin. Check out his costume as well.

Exactly.....starlift was spectacular. Those judges obviously wasn't listening to the same compwe were listening to. Case in point, Silver Stars sounded like they practiced for a week and they placed higher....was absurd

Damn !! Have no idea how they can choose between all these oustanding performances. Are the prelims judged at their own panyards ?
Yep, it seemed that's what they're doing now. I love the idea and the fact that you can pick whatever song you want.
I remember going to Panorama at QPC and after your fav bands played you just tuned everything else out especially when you're in the North Stand where I used to be. Why? Because they played the same dam song that was popular for that year's carnival season!
Now you have no other choice but to listen to all the performances individually and they get to save money and time by not having to transport their pans to QPC for prelims.
I mean the time it takes to move a band off stage and then set up the next one meant prelims was almost a 24-hours event that started around 9 am and ended sometime at 4am the next morning.
If your band was at the bottom of the play list ain't no way you sticking around that late lol.

It was good but not outstanding. The arrangement was all over the place. The good parts were too short, the Renegades part was soft and the bass was nowhere to be seen or heard. But it was good
Yuh Mad o Wah ? - I is a Renegades man and, I think this was outstanding, Starlift gonna give all dem bands TROUBLE. That was an A1 first class performance. You just looking fuh ting to say, . . Stupessssss !.
