in this slot, I had wiped it and had gotten 3 tomoe with grips and activations. I just thought it was important to talk about why the progress counted even after I had wiped the build
Yeah either there's multiple ways to get Sharingan (this is true for Byakugan) or they changed the requirements since I last tested. Either that or grips and activations might unintentionally carry over after wiping ever since Memory Soul was added. I definitely couldn't get Sharingan without getting grips before, even after 50 activations.
Hey by the way are you sure your parent needs to not have akoromos blessing? I did the MS method with a partner with akoromos blessing and it worked fine, may have just been a bug on the other hand.

You need to talk to an NPC near Rosemary Pit and give them acumen. I think I cover it in an old video of mine (A Beginner's Guide), it's at the end of the video so use the timestamps if you want

Based on what people say if you're redoing the MS method I think you just need to redo activations + the part about watching a friend get gripped. But not the grips, although again I haven't personally tested it. I always just redid everything.

To unlock Samehada you need:
The first skill in the Greatsword skill path.
A greatsword schematic.
800 ryo.

You do need grips the first time you do it. Unless Arkham changed it recently.

You do but it's very easy to not unintentionally wipe once you get to a certain point.
