Why would you pull off when they had plenty of chance to pass. That sends the wrong message to motorists. They do not think oh that was nice of that cyclist he didn't have to do that. They think that's right more out of the way like you're supposed to ( which is false)

In this situation, as with most, I did it for safety. Less than a kilometer from where I pulled off, I have to make a left turn from this two-lane road and the last thing I want is 8 or 9 cars trying to pass me while I'm turning or failing to stop and rear-ending me. I don't care what they think. I care that I get home in one piece.

I understand that. But part of all of us getting home safe is to start changing this piss poor car culture mindset we have here.
