If you ask me, this is unacceptable. When you're paying $450 for a building model, the instructions to build it should be complete and accurate. This seems to be a trend with their large technic vehicles.
i cant even condone paying this much for legos especially when all its going to do after being built its just sit on a shelf a lot of extra gimmicks that dont really matter. the mclaren senna its the sweet spot i rather they add suspension to those type of sets and just raise the price a bit make it 80.
They should put a qr code on the first page of the manual that leads you to a web page that shows you if there are any updates or changes to the build and problem solved

Excellent explanation you made on updating the instructions of the Ferrara Ferrari Daytona so at least when I decide to buy it I know that I will have no problems after having mounted it
I have yet to buy this model and from what I've seen so far, glad I haven't. I will buy it (Christmas present to me) just glad to see that the issues are being fixed. As always your builds and reviews are greatly appreciated.
When I build mine in July, I even sent customer support a link to your article and they said they would forward it to the quality department. seems they didnt.. 🙂
I just happened across this video and it has been extremely useful, Like other have said, these level of errors should not exist in a 'flagship' set, but thank goodness you spotted them.
Ever since the incorrect gear order with the GT3 RS I've always made sure to double check online for instructions errors prior to building. Thanks for the video!
I used to oversee user guides for a UK electronics company. We checked and checked and checked again. If one thing changed and that had an effect on any following pages then they were changed as well so that the whole set of instructions was consistent. Even if we changed a tiny detail in a picture of a product, that got changed everywhere. To me, it looks like 1) Lego don't care, and 2) they gave this task to someone not very experienced and then didn't check their work, because of 1).
@@RacingBrick I agree, but some of these kinds of issues should not get that far. So I guess it's a combination of a lack of experience and care by those creating the documents and a lack of adequate QC before release to market.
Thank you for your help on this. I have an issue with the paddle gear change only allowing 1 up and 1 down shift but having stripped this down twice, I'm unsure what has stopped working.
Seriously, the quality of the plastic dropped ( not dramatically, but still noticeably ), the price went up, and there are errors on heavy priced sets... Please Lego return to your quality guaranteed from before... Remember that time where the grandpa forced his son to put the 3rd layer of paint on wooden duck and return to highest quality plastic without errors... I'm fine with a little augmentation of the price, bit not with a drop of the quality...
7:01 my engine cover also didnt stay up, i had to switch the little black L part in the mechansim with an identical one, but here the holes were a little tighter I guess; now it works but it took my 2 hours haha 💀💀
How do I fix the gearbox once the car is finished? Is there an easy way? My shifter only gies up or down, I thought it would get fixed later but I was wrong 😢 any help is appreciated
This reminds me of not an error but i think a funny part in the instructions for the ford raptor where you where warned to not turn a certain piece in a way that isn't even possible lol
I admire your dedication and thoroughness. Sadly this set is out of my price range... although with the number of errors in the instructions, perhaps that's just as well !
People complain that the building process is not as challenging as it was in the old days. It seems to me LEGO has solved the problem. It is challenging again. 😁
i just finish building this set and i found a way for the engine cover to stay up, just take off the 2 small red pieces (4.85 BUSH FRICTION W/ KNOB) off the top of the engine support beam (TECHNIC 9M BEAM) and replace it with the BEAM 1X1 along with the CONNECTOR PEG W. FRICTION at the bottom of the support beam. Well if you have extra 4.85 BUSH FRICTION W/ KNOB lying around then you dont have to remove the top 2
@@legohivemind I meant relative to what you're getting, it's nowhere near affordable but I won't expect a model car at a remotely similar scale to be affordable. Mind you, there's also the cost of having to rearrange half the collection to fit this unless you have shittons of shelves
Strange that no one mentioned a very obvious error on steps 978-979, not only are the angles wrong there, but the pieces themselves are wrong too. Had to look at step 980 for reference, which was correct. Online version has that error too.
Took long enough, but I guess that’s what happens in large companies when every change has to supposedly be overseen and checked by multiple people. I say supposedly because there should not have been an error in the first place. I wonder if it shows better steps in the mobile app? That has animations / videos sometimes.
Question, if #104 uses the other longer piece, is the shorter piece supposed to be used in its place on whatever step it’s supposed to be used? Because, I’m on step 162 and I don’t have that linger piece. So I’m assuming I need to exchange it, right??
Dang, this kind of haults me from investing in a large technic vehicle. I have trouble enough building steps wrong to begin with, so the potential for errors in the actual instructions seems like it would be too frustrating and ruin the experience
This have been my best building Experience ever with the features, no stickers, the design, BUT when i tried to change gears it became the worst experinese ever. I cant Figure it out even after this video
Hello, Thank you very much for the video and the explanations. I am currently assembling this model (I am on end of Box 1), based on the online assembly instructions. I think I followed the assembly steps correctly, especially on the gearbox. At the end of box 1, I additionally added the wheels so that I could move the car and observe the gears closely. However, I noticed that on the 2 shortest gears, it is difficult to move the car, you feel that the gears are straining and then almost lock. This is understandable because when you move the car, the reduction ratio is reversed until the engine, so the small gears become the longest and difficult to engage. Do you also have this kind of behavior? I unmounted and remounted several times, also tested without the engine and I would like to be sure before continuing on the next box. Thank you again,
OK, im on the 169 step and i have a problem.. the differential locks in one point and i cant rotate the wheels anymore, like its hard, also when i move the right wheel, the left one is moving the other way, like if i move the right wheel in front, the left one is moving backwards.. can you help me? im sure the problem is at the differential, because the gearbox is 100% correct, i tested it.
Hi i recently got the set last week, do you know if the booklets that come with the set have been updated as I have gotten about halfway through the set and am just now seeing this video.

They can do this electronically it really wouldn't take them all that much effort and it is what other manufacturing companies do. At the very least they need to revision control their electronic documents that are available to the public on their website. They simply need to name the subsequent document revision A, or at the very least remove the out of revision document. Typically initial releases of documents are rev dash but I doubt Lego goes to that level of detail but having two documents available to the public online and one of them is out of date or out of rev is inexcusable
Are the printed instructions that come with the set today still wrong? I bought it a few days ago and started building today using the paper instructions
Hi, a few days ago i downloaded Lego instructions from their page, and i found an error on step 813 (book 2), first, it doesn't look like your updated step 812, and second there's a printing error in number of pieces for bricks, 4 Axle Hose, Soft 7L instead of 2 and 6 Technic Beam 2 x 3 L-Shape with Quarter Ellipse Thick instead of 3. I followed the updated gear selector positions in step 88, but I found that my transmission works properly in reverse, but when in forward/drive, only every other gear engages (i.e. the car is in neutral). Does anyone else have a similar issue? This issue is not present on the Lamborghini Sian.
After working through the instructions again I found that I messed up on step 68. There are two gray gears required for that step, but I only added one! I also later found a similar post on reddit of someone who also had an "extra" gray gear at the end of box 1. Seems like a common gear to miss adding! There should be no "extra" gears at the end of box 1.

Not color match on pieces, missing pieces, building error in the plan, wrong logo for themes and i probably miss a few. And they rised the price from 10% to 20%.
