    Hi glad to see you back, how long have you had FMD I've had mine since in Nov 17 went into the hospital with pneumonia and tremors was in the hospital 2 more time for some really heavy tremors. I was sent to the University of Florida to the Movement Disorder Center where they said I had FMD with no cure but they can help. I'm 64 and the tremors were so bad I was ready to give up. Then I found your site and how you both continue on you give hope again. I start PT in March the heavy tremors are slowing down but they sometimes pop up really strong. Thank you for giving me the hope and to keep plugging along.
    Ben

      Benjamin Buck Wow. That is incredibly humbling for me to hear how we have inspired hope. 😍. I have had FMD for two years with some pretty scary cycles...I am doing better than I ever have!

      Dave Busby It has been a bit scary to go back! Its a huge learning curve and also a huge change in my schedule as well as super long work weeks with training (more time than I had intended to work weekly). 5 shifts this week and 4 next week before I begin to settle in to my 3 a week. So far so good... just pretty tired!!

      I hope it goes really well for you. You are so positive. I believe, I really believe, that makes such a huge difference.

    The door alarm seems like your equivalent of my fire alarm when it goes off, and the sound that happens when they audio test it. It makes my legs turn to jelly and not support me, and it also makes my heart go funny (bad funny) and for a while afterwards I have chest pain and pressure. Sadly I can't tell them to [expletive] stop doing the tests when they do, as I rent and it's a law/regulation thing for the building. Aaaargh! Btw, feel free to contact me if you want a random natter about anything. Frustratingly my depression is taking centre stage, and my gastro issues (I call it my GIT!) are trying to compete against it. At least I have another backup method to wake up other than my alarm, it's called pain (GIT pain and weirdly shaped toe pain that both wake me from a dead and medicated sleep)! Amusingly enough, my GIT pain isn't too bad at the moment, but I had suspected a GIT or Gastro flare coming before contemplating saying that sentence! Seeing my long term gastro doc in clinic today (am scared regarding colonoscopy biopsy results, but fingers crossed I finally get some sort of result in the form of a diagnosis/es!), and in March for the first time ever I am going to a pain clinic, so fingers crossed I get some benefits from the pain clinic.

    Hi what are you doing to maintain control?

    • @TheLarryAndy
      @TheLarryAndy  6 лет назад

      +Benjamin Buck Like bodily control? I'm not really having any repetitive movements at this time. If that's what you mean, one thing that really helped me with that was to focus on letting go of any tension in my muscles. Like, imagining just resting on or being supported by my skeleton alone. You would be surprised how much tension we hold, especially when having these difficult issues. Often I find my muscles winding up and tightening on their own without me even realizing it!
