I love this premise. Reframing it as a mad scientist/autopsy narrative gives it an entirely new edge
First time I ever heard the song that was actually what I thought it was, a grieving scientist who had lost their love and was trying to bring them back, not understanding why they had died.
I get some Cranberries Zomie vibes...Awsome.

I hit the Like button before the song even started.
It seems I've learned something about myself from this cover; that my preference for certain sounds and genres is enough to sway my liking of the same song. I can't say I care for the original version of The Scientist, but this cover is right up my alley.
Reminds me of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The birthmark". The scientist kills his one true love trying to remove the thing he thought kept her from being perfect (her birthmark).

If I were to write a Frankenstein story where the doctor is very close to the person that later becomes Creature before their untimely demise, I would add this song to the soundtrack. On that note, Fix You by Coldplay could also work if you changed the tone.
