This is what we like. Keeping it real. Too many motorcycle RUclipsrs have let their egos run away with them and have started to think they are some sort of celebrity. Spolier alert their not and people are becoming a bit tired of it. Keep up the good work you are doing a good job 👍
Thank you, that’s really kind of you to say. 🙏🏼 I do try to focus on trying to share the riding experience and sharing a few thoughts and observations. With hopefully a few amusing takes along the way. Cheers 😀👍🏻
@@bluecheese4877 Really mate you need to open your wyes and look and listen to some of the pretentious idiots. I would name them but that wouldn't be fair.
Your videos are for pure bike enthusiasts, I love the fact that it is by a rider for other riders! A very simple way that leads to great understanding of the machine!
Thank you for these videos of the Guerrilla, it's becoming my dream bike and despite the time it's going to take to arrive at my country, it's lovely to see other bikers riding it.
You’re very welcome, it’s great to hear you’re enjoying the videos. 😀 The Guerrilla is a marvellous bike and I hope you’re able to get your own soon 🤞🏻😀👍🏻
Brilliant choice. I want one but unfortunately I'm not in a financial position to buy one. I'm pleased to hear you are keeping your Hunter because I'm loving mine. I've done 5,000 miles in just over 4 months and it's never missed a beat
My Hunter isn’t going anywhere, I have a feeling me and that bike will grow old together. ♥️ It’s my 60th birthday next and I reckon the Guerrilla is going to keep me feeling young for a little while longer 😀
I had one of these for the day a couple of weeks ago while my Interceptor was being serviced and I absolutely loved it. I'm seriously considering getting one instead of the Interceptor. Also, I always enjoy seeing a video of someone riding around my local area.
Morning David, they are marvellous aren’t they? 😀 Having previously owned an Interceptor, I think that based on the power to weigh ratio there’s very little to set the two bikes apart from a power and performance point of view. The lightness of the Guerrilla makes it so agile too. 😀 If you see us when we’re out and about in your area come and say hello or give us a wave 👍🏻😀
Hello Alan, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yeah lots of reviews and the consensus seems to be overwhelmingly positive. It’s a great bike. In some ways it’s taking me back to my youth, it really is a riders bike. I’d say motorcycling in its purest form 🤔 cheers 👍🏻😀
Thanks Chris, I think you may well be right it really is a stunning bike for the money, Royal Enfield may well have scored big time with this model 😀 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏻😀
@@MerciaMoto i saw one at Colchester Kawasaki which is also a RE dealer,i think they have been clever by adopting a few styling traits from other manufacturers for example the headlight looks quite similar to that of the Guzzi V7 and the offset filler cap of the Bonneville T100 and T120.I also like that RE always put a front fender extender on the front mudguard.
No problem I haven’t seen one of those nodding dogs for years brought back a happy memory thanks for noticing it And a enjoyable video I will be buying a Guerilla 450 on Tuesday when my local dealer opens after the weekend in the same colour as yours I have just sold one of my bikes today so I have a space ready for it
Cheers Henry, great to hear you’re joining the Guerrilla club and you’ve definitely opted for the best colour! 😀 It would be great to hear your thoughts when you’ve filled that bike shaped space and done some riding. 😀👍🏻
Enjoyed your commentary, good to know about the running in revs. I have the same bike as yours on order. Can't wait to get some miles in.. Thanks for your knowledge.
Good evening Keith, thanks for watching, it’s great to hear found it useful. Congratulations on getting your Guerrilla ordered and please let me know your thoughts once you’ve taken delivery and racked up some miles 😀👍🏻
Thanks for the mention Dave…..I can’t believe all you guys are buying the Guerrilla, and yours is in my favourite colour too. I really want one but not quite there yet regarding financing it 😢😂. Congratulations 🎉, you really are going to have some fun. Look forward to your future rides on it…. You definitely need to choose the right gear, for the right revs, or it will bog down. When I said in my ride review, it takes me back to the early 80’s, in how it feels, and how you have to ride it. A bit like a Yam RD250 two stroke in it’s mannerisms. You have to remove all thoughts of how you are accustomed to riding RE’s 😂. If you like a good architectural church, keep an eye out for my next video release 😉 Isn’t the car a Ford Zodiac or Zephyr ? Thanks again
@@hectorshouse7348😂 thank you. I got a bit carried away with it, but when the bikes I normally take out have zero (ish) miles on them, which means I need to be gentle on, when I am handed a fully run in one, it’s hard to keep it slow 😂
You’re very welcome Ian, thank you for inspiring me to buy one. You’re right, it’s absolutely nothing like any other RE I’ve ridden and I really like the fact it is making me have to reevaluate a way off riding that has become the norm. The problem is once I become fully accustomed to the way the Guerrilla operates I’ll have trouble reverting back to the Hunter and the Speed Twin 😂 Hope you’re able to work some magic on the finances and you can own one of these bad boys yourself soon! I’ve gotta get this beggars first service miles on pronto! 😂😂👍🏻 I have really started to take a keen interest in Church architecture after seeing some incredible ones on the Norfolk tour, I’ll keep an eye out for your video. 👍🏻
Thanks for that, I remember the mark 1 Cortina now, you’re right the lights were round and the body was more angular in shape! I was thinking it was actually the Mark 2 but lots of folks have kindly pointed out it’s a Mark 4 Ford Zodiac. It really was a treat seeing it. “Ban the bomb” lights 😀 I’ve learned something new again, thank you! Great to hear you enjoyed the waffling and thanks for the name suggestion I’ll add it to the list 👍🏻😀
Good morning Roy, thanks for watching and commenting 😀 there are going to be lots of adventures on this bad boy! Yep the Hunter is going nowhere it’s the bike that keeps me grounded. 😀👍🏻
Thinking about getting one down here in new Zealand was thinking of getting the Himalayan but think the Guerrilla 450 i also ride a suzuki v Strom RE 800 great bike Cheers 👍🏻
Thanks For watching and leaving a comment Jim, I would certainly recommend Guerrilla, it really is an awesome bike, I don’t think you’d regret having one. Had a go on my mates V-Strom last year and have to say I was impressed with it. Cheers 👍🏻😀
Thanks Chris, it is a lovely place, ideal for taking photographs of bikes 😀 I do love the appearance of the Guerrilla, I nearly went for the gold and orange colour, glad I changed my mind, I love this shade of yellow. Certainly brightens up the rides 😀👍🏻
@@MerciaMoto I love the new RE look and am curious about the engine and ride as compared to the other RE models? I’ve only ever ridden the Conti 650 twin..
First time I have come across your site, nice review. Hope this helps. I have a Himalayan 450, all the comments on the gearing and necessary changes for the revs etc. was exactly the same feel and thoughts I had. Once I got to 1200+ miles everything seemed to change with the engine, all the perceived ‘lumpiness’ went away. I now have 3000 on the clock and it gets better every mile I add. I am now whizzing around country routes with minimal gear changes, whereas before I seemed to be changing too early or too late, couldn’t find the balance. But as I say, fantastic now!
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the Himalayan it’s really helpful 👍🏻😀I experienced changes in the characteristics of the engines on both my Scram and Hunter as I ran them in. I think taking care when running in RE engines really does pay dividends in the long run. I’m enjoying the fact I have to pay a lot more attention to thinking about speed, revs and gear selection it feels very much how it used to be with the bikes I had as a teenager. Looking forward to getting out and racking up those miles 😀👍🏻
Thanks Peter, yes it’s been a bit full on with filming and editing this weekend! I’m enjoying your video during breaks with everything I need to catch up with at home, it’s marvellous and well worth the wait 😀👍🏻
@@MerciaMoto I just don't know how you fit all you do, in, Dave 😳. Yes it's a good idea to watch this in sections rather than gorge yourself in one and thus make yourself poorly 😅😅. Bit like chocolate really. Next month we're in the Lake District for the very first time on a motorcycle for me. And no it's not the usual passes - Wrynose, Hardnott,, Honister and other one that I can't quite remember the name of 😂😂,. (Kirkstone!) Plenty of editing ahead here. Enjoy exploring your new bike as I'm sure you will 👨🔧
Enjoyed the video, im going for test ride on a Guerrilla tomorrow, was 65 yesterday, think i might treat myself, be sad to see the Hornet go. Look forward to your next video.
Thanks Malcolm, be great to hear your thoughts following the test ride 👍🏻I reckon you’re gonna love it. Always sad to see a bike go and the Hornet’s are great bikes, I had to back in the day the 600 and 900, great times 👍🏻😀
@@MerciaMoto morning, just a little follow up to my test ride on the Guerrilla, it's a great bike really enjoyed it, it's got more than enough power and speed for what I want, it's a great fun bike, had it for 2hrs and tried it on a mixture of roads, so I left a deposit and ordered one, same colour as yours, just a bit of a wait for delivery, but something to look forward to 😀
Royal enfield is gaining a lot of traction in S korea and Japan. 350 cc bikes have been an absolute hit in both the countries. Hunter has been the favourite in korea and the meteor in Japan. In fact 30% of the RE owners in Japan are girls in the age group of 18-30 with pikachu yellow meteor being the most popular model. Maybe that is the reason for adding bright color options on this model.
Hello Andrea, thank you for watching and leaving a comment. It’s great to hear that RE are doing well in South Korea and Japan, they really do offer amazing value for money. RE have done an incredible job of appealing to the younger riders, definitely a smart move offering brighter colour options, the yellow really is a rich and deep colour, twinkly turns heads! Cheers, Dave 😀👍🏻
I waited to watch this until after I had finished my own video, because I like to make sure that my thoughts are always untainted by the opinions of others. The bike I rode was the exact same spec as yours and you do get a mention in my video ( for your brave colour choice ) ! I can confirm that if you give it a handful in first gear and rev it to the red line, the front end does get quite light. Don't ask me how I know this 😇 It will be difficult to keep it under 4k rpm during the running in phase, in my opinion. This engine does lug quite readily, probably particularly so when new, so to keep it below 4k rpm all of the time will require a lot of downshifting I would imagine. Certainly that's how it felt on my test ride. It felt like I was often between gears when trying to keep the revs at the lower end. The gearbox is a delight ( as it was on the Himalayan 450 ) and the engine very much does want to rev. I didn't get the hang of keeping it in the power band during my short test ride but on a twisty road you will probably want to be snicking it between third and second gears for maximum grin factor. On a faster more flowing road you can let the revs drop and it will pick up a higher gear nicely enough to keep a good flow going. I felt that the seat was comfortable and the ergonomics were good, although the pegs are a tad higher than I would like, the knee angle was a bit acute. The demo bike I rode also had the best brakes of any Royal Enfield I have ever tried. The front brake was a genuine two finger job, which is just what you want when you are going for a sportier ride. Overall, this is a fun bike. So light and quick steering. Great value considering it comes with the Showa suspension and navigation dash ! Way less vibrations than I experienced on the Himalayan, mainly just through the pegs, almost zero vibes through the bars, so a clear improvement there. I am seriously intrigued by the Guerrilla and am genuinely considering getting one. Congratulations Dave, I'm sure the bike will be a whole different animal once you get the running in done. But it's still a lovely thing to have even when keeping it below 4k rpm. Excited for you ! Garry & Ruby
Thank you Garry and Ruby, this is a great assessment you've done here. You have exactly described my own experience of the Guerrilla, it's a bike that is just begging take you for a spirited ride. I struggled to prevent it form lugging with needing to keep it below 4k revs. As soon as i had the first service done and I was able to use those extra rev's all the lugging issues fell away and as you now know the bike is just a bundle of fun, I absolutely love it. With me being short in the leg department I don't have any issues with foot peg height but can see how it could be a tad uncomfortable for the non vertically challenged. I could very easily go for very long rides on the bike. I think a Guerrilla would make the perfect accompaniment to Norman and Buddy and had it been possible I would have kept the Scram too, things you have to sacrifice to stay out of the divorce court aye? 🤣🤣 🤣Thanks again for this excellent review! Cheers 🍻
@@MerciaMoto Aw thanks Dave. Good to know that we feel the same way. I can't really get away from what great value it is. It is a lot of fun for the money. No doubt about it. Even if I only kept it for a year, I am unlikely to lose TOO much. I am tempted. Seriously tempted. As soon as I feel comfortable parting with 5k of my hard earned, unless something unexpected happens, I am unlikely to find many better ways of spending it. I'm just waiting for my work situation to become more clear before making any rash decisions ! Cheers to you and the long suffering Mrs Dave 😂 Garry & Ruby
Sweet bike, definitely made for swift fun excursions where ever that may be! Was gonna purchase a triumph 400x but think I’m going to wait for this one to arrive. Just tried out the Himalayan here in the USA 🇺🇸 and I loved it. I think this is more what I am looking for. Thanks for the great honest review! 👍🏻😎 I do think those mirrors could be a bit more stylish and user friendly as they are the same one as the Himalayans.
@@BangForYourBuckRc hello thank you for watching and leaving a comment, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this bike and definitely fits the bill for those swift excursions. A really competitive price compared the Triumph 400. I’ll be looking at some after market bar end mirrors soon, but these are by far the best standard mirrors RE have added. Be great to hear what you finally decide to go with 👍🏻😀
@@MerciaMoto I will let you know what I think after it arrives here in the US. I really liked the Himalayan, but I think this guerrilla is more suited to me. I would love to turn this into a scrambler! Really enjoyed your channel so you got a new Sub! Thanks again!
Tested one last week. Marvellous apart from vibes through the footpegs. It does indeed have a very good saddle. I would be happy to own this bike but I have a 411 Himalayan which is objectively worse but you know how it is.
Hello Rick, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yeah I found the saddle really comfortable. Personally I can live with vibes with owning a CCM which is so viby it gives me pins and needles whenever I ride it! 😂 lots of fun though. Cheers 👍🏻😀
They ride so well! RE definitely have Up-ed their standards with the guerilla and shotgun. They realised it’s the only way forward, with the other foreign brands making their way into Indian market.
I think they are going to be a runaway success, far far better than the Triumph 400 but I'd put money on it that the price will increase very shortly when RE realise they have a winner on their hands.🤔👍
@@MerciaMoto when I went to the dealer to book the guerrilla, the sales tried to get me interested in a scram. Since it was an outgoing model, guess he would’ve received some commission from the sale. I stuck with my decision, happy to this day!
Great video, thanks for sharing ! Why do all the manufacturers have to use horrible digital displays ? that would be my soul reason for not buying one or any bike with TFT display.
Thank you, great to hear you enjoyed the video. I know what you mean about the digital displays, I suspect they have to move with the times and cater for folks that want mobile connectivity. 🤔👍🏻
Hello Carol and Richard thank you, it really does have a lot of kerb appeal doesn’t it? And, the price is very competitive. I think RE are going to sell a lot of them 😀👍🏻
Evening Andy, thanks for the positive feedback and for clarifying what model the car is. 👍🏻 The Guerrilla certainly does deliver great value for money 😀👍🏻
Very nice indeed. This one, playa black and the brava blue, is my favourites 😊 But each has little things that I think is not quite right. But, that’s me being fussy😂 Your one, I wish the the lettering on the tank was yellow, and wheel strips yellow also. The brava blue got a lovely blue front rim, but rear is black. As Ian say, you can get used to this, and enjoy this gem. Enjoy the bike Dave, it’s lovely…….❤it.😊
Hiya Mark, theirs always something that doesn’t quite tick all the boxes, and we all have our personal favourites don’t we? My second choice would have been the brave blue. I’m not sure how keen I am on the purple touches, yellow and purple wouldn’t be two colours I would put together 🤔 fortunately it’s subtle so I can live with it. 👍🏻😀 cheers for watching and leaving a comment 😀
@@MerciaMoto for sure. Great video. Enjoy the bike. New dealer in Perth has a demo apparently, so need to pay a visit. But driveway is all dug up at mo.
As mentioned elsewhere, congratulations Dave. Brave colour choice 😉 Keep us posted. I definitely want to try one if I can find one over here ! Either one of these or a second hand Thruxton or something. Could be a tough choice 🤔 I prefer a new bike but I definitely need to ride a Guerrilla before committing to one. Enjoy it Dave 👍 Garry & Ruby
That Mk 1 Cortina was actually a Zephyr/Zodiac. Mk 1 Cortina production stopped in 1966.🤣🤣 Right, back to the bike, went out on my Guerrilla for the first time today and clocked up 70 odd miles. Agree with everything you say particularly about the gearing, 4th gear in particular, anything below 35mph and it didn't like a change up to fifth, I learnt the art of tap dancing today with that gear shift. Check your tyre pressures if you haven't already done so. Some real strange handling characteristics with mine, nearly came a cropper on an island at Ludlow stopped and checked the pressure in the rear tyre, there was 47psi in the rear, should be 36psi, job for tomorrow when tyres are cold. I agree, its the most comfortable standard oem seat I have ever ridden on, can't fault it. Ive adjusted the rear suspension to what the book recommends for solo riding and the ride comfort is spot on. Great bike, chuffed with mine and look forward to your future vlogs.🙂👍
Brilliant, thanks for clarifying what the car was. I wish we had smellavision as the smell emanating from it took me back to happier times 😀 Happy new bike to you! Great to hear you’ve been out and about. I shall check tyre pressures and adjust suspension tomorrow, thanks for pointing them out 👍🏻 Really heartened to hear that my perceptions of how the bike rides are shared. You just know when it’s true capabilities can be realised it is gonna be a fantastic bike, I anticipate many smiles per mile await us! One thing’s for certain, the left ankle is going to be getting a good workout over the coming weeks! 😂😂 Have a great week mate and enjoy your Guerrilla! 👍🏻 PS we’ll be tap dancing like Lionel Blair before we know it! 😂😂😂👍🏻
Good coverage,I test ride one last Friday was blown away on how it performed,I've got to test the 400 speed before I make my mind up. If I got the guerrilla I would call it Guy. You can if you want as well .lol
Evening Tony, be great to hear how you find the test ride! Someone else had suggested Guy and it is my current favourite to be honest 😂 thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏻😀
Congratulations on your new steed it looks like a nice little addition to your stable and the perfect replacement for Stan the Scram. The Guerrilla could be a good choice for my son when he goes up to his A2 but then there are so many A2 compliant bikes these days. Try not to let the engine labour during the run in period, it's not advisable. I know many reviewers like to see if a bike will hunt in higher gears at slow speed but I really don't get the point. Just because a bike will do it doesn't mean we should, that's what gears are there for. As for a name there can be only one Che Guevara the world's most famous iconic Guerrilla leader and revolutionary. I'm currently in the process of changing bikes, the ZZR and the Thunderbird Sport are going, making way for a BMW R1250R
Thanks Mick, definitely a great bike for your son. It’s definitely got a lot to offer and I don’t think he’ll be disappointed at all! 😀 I’m finding it a bit of a challenge getting the gear cha going right whilst trying to stay under 4k RPM, I’ve realised this is probably a good thing as it’s forcing quite a lot of gear changing up and back down which can only be a positive for bedding in. I saw on TAYM’s video that your selling a couple of your treasured bikes to finance the ultimate naughty boy machine! 😃 Good luck with the sales and look forward to the arrival of the beast! 😀👍🏻
Morning Dave. Keep that new bike polished whilst its raining. Possible name could be Bumble or Bee as colours are similar. (just a thought) bfn Mike , Sunny Wales
Thanks Michael, it’s tucked away in the garage keeping out of the rain! 😀watching the weather at the moment and hoping for a ride out on Thursday evening 🤞🏻I’ll add your name suggestion to the list 😀
I have a Hunter 350 and I love it. But I'm looking at the new Himalayan as a long range go anywhere bike with good luggage capacity. But these do look like a lot of fun.
Hiya Skotty, thanks for commenting 😀 Hunter’s are brilliant bikes aren’t they? I love mine. The Himmy 450 sounds like the ideal solution for range and touring, definitely one to consider 👍🏻
Hi mercies moto , great vid and it's a good bike I am thinking about one your ride through Halesowen you were about were I ride some times and the hemley area and Halesowen bypass which is good road to have good blast on and over stour bridge area look forward for more on the gorriler 450 and what are your thoughts will be about the bike
Thanks Paul, great to hear you enjoyed the video, the good old Halesowen bypass aye, had many a blast down there over the years. Hopefully a few Guerrilla running in videos will be coming soon 👍🏻😀
Evening Glyn, I’ve always liked yellow bikes but never owned one up until now. This particular shade of yellow really is rich and bright, I love it 💛 I’m in the process of re evaluating my laid back lanes explorations 🤔 I think they will become Hunter territory as this potential psycho bike could be to hot to handle on some of em! 😂😂 thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏻
Think there's a Hagley Hall no and my sis has played there? You must be loving the extra oompf. Looks like a great bike for country lanes etc. Sounds quite nice also. P.s my only slight Gripe is perhaps another gallon re tank size. Riding my Himmy 411 another Gallon would be nice, but then noticed have never had the tank light on yet so prob have another 50 miles or so..
Hi Maurice, yeah Hagley Hall, is your sister a musician? There’s significantly more oomf than the Scram, it’s going to be a very lively and on bike. We shall have to see how it performs on the narrow back lanes in due course 😀 I suspect the excellent fuel economy will compensate for the reduced tank capacity. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment mate 😀👍🏻
I went to QB Motorcycles yesterday. Very impressed with the variety of bikes and accessories. I went primarily to get a look at the Guerrilla in the flesh. I sat on one and it was a little taller than I’d like, not quite on tiptoes. One thing I really didn’t like was that offset dial. It looks like someone did a bad diy job. Would look so much better in the centre. Otherwise the looks are great.
Hello Luke, QB have become my go to dealer. This is my 4th Royal Enfield I have bought from them and I even bought my Honda Hornet from them back in 2000. They do carry a good range and their customer service is great. I’ve grown accustomed to offset dials now with both the Scram and my Hunter having offset dials. I’m just under 5’8” with 29” inside leg. I’m on the balls of my feet on the Guerrilla. Overall it is a great looking bike 😀 thanks for watching and leaving a comment, very much appreciated 😀👍🏻
@@MerciaMoto agree with you totally. I've had a Honda Rebel 500 for two years. Lovely bike which is really low. I think that's why perhaps all other bikes seem talk when I sit on them. I think my next bike will be a triumph of some description.
Hi Mercia moto, first of your videos I've watched, good down to earth review, and I've added myself to your subscribers, and booking a test ride this week on the Guerrilla, as I also follow @Ian Hughes as well, but will be keeping my Classic 350 , as for a name for your Guerrilla, how about Guido? as in Guido Fawkes, the alternative to Guy , he was a Guerrilla back in the day trying to blow up Parliament eh! 😅 Cheers Mel
Thanks Mel, honoured to have you subscribed to the channel! 🙏🏼 bone great to hear your thoughts after the test ride 😀 What a great name suggested and very apt considering todays parliamentarians shenanigans it’s on the list! 😀👍🏻 cheers, Dave
Haven't yet seen a negative review/comment on the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 - if I had the garage space I'd seriously consider getting one. Car at the end was a Ford Zodiac 71/72
Thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate the car details. 👍🏻 I have tried to think of something negative about the Guerrilla, but to be honest I really can’t think of anything other than the thumb operated settings joystick which I just can’t seem to get the hang of! 😂 👍🏻
Loved the video. Love to see that bike. It hasn’t arrived here in México. I have one question, though. And probably you’ll be able to answer in a few weeks from now. You mentioned FIRST GEAR is rather short…. Will that be a problem in Start-Stop traffic??? Do you find yourself hustling through gears while commuting in traffic?? Thank you !!
Hi Joe, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I don’t think the short first great will be a problem in traffic and haven’t had the chance to ride it in any significant traffic so far. Keep an eye on my future videos as I’m sure to have to ride in in heavy traffic and I’ll be able to answer your question 👍🏻 hope the Guerrilla arrives in Mexico soon 👍🏻😀
Hey, you should watch a video of it being riddent in heavy traffic in india to get how it feels there. Abhinav Bhatt is the channel name and you can watch him review the bike there, he is more of a owner than a professional reviewer as he owns a himy 452 & has done quite a work on it. The video is in english as well.
Just watching this one again, Dave and I'm wondering how this Guerilla compares to the Honda cb500 range. Though they're twins I think (not sure as I haven't looked too closely lately and I've forgotten 😳). Oh and I'm so pleased too that you're not putting a top box on. It's a a bike that demands to be kept lean looking I think. Will the Hunter now be your choice for Wales? Perhaps Che might be an appropriate name 🤔
Hello Peter, maybe someone has done a comparison video between the Guerrilla and CB500? 🤔 Yes, I could get away with a top box on Stan and it doesn’t look to out of place on Pocket Rocket. It would look horrendous on the Guerrilla. I have bought myself a Kriega sling pro messenger bag to carry what I had in my top boxes, mainly some camera gear, a drink and some picnic snacks 😀 I’ve found myself conflicted about what bike will go to Wales next year. Fortunately I’ve got a few months to resolve 🤔😀👍🏻 www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/485014
@@MerciaMoto I like that backpack. Very becoming 👍. Tim (Fellini Motorcycle) is an avid watcher of my 'back catalogue' and I usually watch over what he's just seen and commented on. And tonight I noticed you left a lovely comment on this particular one from a year ago. Which makes me realise just how long we've been together now 🤗
great looking bike i like the colours but this bike parked next to the speed twin in your garage means you will need sunglasses evey time you go in there still a good choice sir
Hiya mate, great to hear from you! 😀 you’re not wrong about the bright colours, what’s that song “oranges and lemons sing the bells of St Clemons” 😂😂👍🏻
It is Engaging ! I understood 😊This was a review and a good one, a motorcycle is not a spec sheet it is tactile. I will stick with the engaging short shifting of the 70s style Scram BUT I understand the engaging feeling of flicking through the box in the higher rev ranges, the only down side ? it will be Quick !🤭 The best seat ever ?? Honeymoon period ! I will await your future rides. BTW running in at 45mph must be a god send after the Scram at 37mph 👍
Good morning and thank you for the positive feedback on the video. Yeah, for me it’s just about trying to share my experience with the bike and how it feels and performs from my perspective. It definitely is a bike that wants to deliver a more spirited ride, and it’s going to do that in spades! 🙂 you’re right, the running in is definitely going to be a different experience to the Scram! 😂 the seat really is very comfortable, I did 7 days riding in Ireland week before last on the Speed Twin with no discomfort and the Guerilla’s seat felt even better although a very short time spent in the saddle on this occasion 😀 cheers for taking the time to watch and leave a comment, very much appreciated 👍🏻😀
i test rode a playa black last week..... loved it, but couldn't ptex the hunter for it..... its a frantic fast ride, but ive got another fast light bike that does that.... if i had room i'd have one..... better than the speed 400 imo
Thanks for sharing your experience. ‘Frantic Fast Ride’ is a great description’. My Hunter won’t be going anywhere, it will need its relaxing demeanour after I’ve been thoroughly roughed up by the Guerrilla! 😂😂 cheers for watching and commenting 👍🏻😀
I think the bike design fills in some of the Speed 400 flaws , chains on the correct side for instance. Though a larger tank and the offset speedo shows they have not got everything right though its multi use ability if it can sat nav is bob on. Dont think the service intervals will be as long. You eould have to try both and assess what the accessories provide to see which is closest to ideal.
Hello Anthony, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 👍🏻 Following first service at 311 miles service interval is annual or 6000 mile intervals. I’m ok with the offset dash as both the Scram and my Hunter are offset so I’ve sort of gotten used to it now. Tank size could be an issue if considering using the bike for touring , but 90-100 mpg should compensate to some degree. I think it is going to be a very versatile and useable bike 😀👍🏻
@MerciaMoto imagine how good it could be with twin displays though with a snazzy sat nav or configurable? For my commute 70 miles a day I would like a 230 range so I could get 3 days use between fills. Not much else to complain about really, there is so much more to be spun off this platform it really is all the bike most people need.
@@MerciaMoto I think they should have left off the purple....RE went colour scheme wonky with the Meteor 650 and l think they've carried here with some schemes, it's a cracking looking simple bike with good lines.
G'day from Bundaberg Australia 🇦🇺 🍹 Im still deciding between the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 & Kawasaki Eliminator 450 🤔🤔 Both bikes have their good things ! i like the classic look but with modern technology ☺️ ive checked all specifications on both bikes & technology & been looking at at least 8 different reviews & im still undecided 🙈 What is your opinion ? i respect your view as you have much more experience than myself , Steve from Australia(ps: i do like the slipper clutch on the Kawasaki 450 🕺👍☺️
G’day Steve, thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏻 I’ve no experience of the Kawasaki Eliminator so can’t really pass an opinion on it. In terms of Royal Enfield bikes and the Guerrilla In particular, they offer exceptional value for money and their range just keeps getting better all the time. I’m of the view that the dominance of the Japanese brands is in decline due to the value for money offered by the likes of RE and even the Chinese manufactured brands like Benelli. 🤔 this is my 4th Royal Enfield of owned and in all honesty, I have absolutely no complaints! Hope this helps to answer your question? Cheers 😀👍🏻
Lovely bike Dave, I have yet to see one in the flesh as no local dealer now but the Hunter was another that looked way better in the flesh, video never does it justice. You mention virtually no vibrations, is that still the case? The new Himalayan has reports of a buzz so will be interesting to see if that the case with this bike.
Hello mate, hope you’re well? Yeah you do need to see them in the flesh to get a proper impression. I’m aware the Himalayan 450 can be quite viby. I haven’t experienced any vibyness yet but then I’ve only got around ~45mph to play with prior to first service at 311 miles 😀👍🏻
Not the slightest bit surprised and I am insanely jealous Dave. It seems a brilliant bike but I really can't justify one. I don't think I will even try a test ride, because resistents would be futile. Enjoy. BTW.. If you are not to bothered about what happens to your Micky Mouse mirrors, take them off, remove all the nuts, stick them in a soft jaw vice and bend them down a bit more. (experiment). Geometry will place the mirrors further out and just above your hands. On my Grom I have gone from 25% mirror to 80% mirror. Sorry, don't name my bikes.
Evening Tim, it couldn’t be anything other than the Guerrilla old it 😂😂 I think you should definitely try a test ride you only live once! 😉 Great idea re the mirrors, I’ll give it some thought 👍🏻😀
The car definitely wasn't a Mk1 Cortina. I owned one many years ago and it had various distinguishing features including circular rear lights. Also the Mk1 went out of production in 1966, long before "K" registrations.
Well Dave I would of bet my pension on the new bike being a Guerrilla!..........let me guess the name ' king Kong ' by any chance 😂😂😂😂 looks brilliant! Enjoy! .......ps have you joined the clergy re parking😊
I knew you’d guess right mate. 😀I was wondering how to keep the lid on what I’d gone for. King Kong has been considers and added to the list of suggestions. I was wondering who would be the first to spot the clergy parking sign first! There’s no way they would ordain me mate, although I am baptised CofE so you never know! 😂😂👍🏻

@@MerciaMoto Yes, the performance is very similar but the Guerrilla felt more punchy off the line. It's definitely a fun bike, very tempting!

You’re very welcome Ian, thank you for inspiring me to buy one. You’re right, it’s absolutely nothing like any other RE I’ve ridden and I really like the fact it is making me have to reevaluate a way off riding that has become the norm.

Don't ask me how I know this 😇
It will be difficult to keep it under 4k rpm during the running in phase, in my opinion.

They certainly have, looks RE really have become a brand to be reckoned with 👍🏻
Absolutely when you consider I paid nearly as much for my Scram 18 months ago 😳
I think they are going to be a runaway success, far far better than the Triumph 400 but I'd put money on it that the price will increase very shortly when RE realise they have a winner on their hands.🤔👍

That Mk 1 Cortina was actually a Zephyr/Zodiac. Mk 1 Cortina production stopped in 1966.🤣🤣
Right, back to the bike, went out on my Guerrilla for the first time today and clocked up 70 odd miles.

Thanks Peter, tell me about it! 😀 my thumbs are aching from all the replying I’m doing! 😂😂 There’s a lot of love for the Guerrilla out there 😀
Think there's a Hagley Hall no and my sis has played there?
Cheers Mel
these minimalistic bikes are the best for daily use.
Totally agree! 😀 thank you for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏻😀
@@percentbigfoot thanks for sharing, I’ll check out his video 👍🏻
Nice choice of bike pal
Cheers buddy 👍🏻😀
congrats sir❤❤
Thank you 🙏🏼
Just watching this one again, Dave and I'm wondering how this Guerilla compares to the Honda cb500 range.
I have bought myself a Kriega sling pro messenger bag to carry what I had in my top boxes, mainly some camera gear, a drink and some picnic snacks 😀
I’ve found myself conflicted about what bike will go to Wales next year. Fortunately I’ve got a few months to resolve 🤔😀👍🏻

😀 you’re not wrong about the bright colours, what’s that song “oranges and lemons sing the bells of St Clemons” 😂😂👍🏻
beautiful bike
Thank you 🙏🏼
Could always fit an indicator buzzer, £5 and up on Amazon
@@kevinf-b5065 Hiya Kevin, yeah I keep saying I’m going to install one, but never commit to doing it! I shall fit one at some point 👍🏻😀
2 cylinders you can lug along, single you need to keep it moving.
Definitely and a very good description! 😀 cheers 👍🏻
Very nice - congratulations. I'm looking at the same!
Thank you and cheers for watching and commenting. You’re gonna love it, hope you are able to get yours soon 😀👍🏻
Got to be Clyde 😄
Clyde is definitely a contender, it’s on the list 😂👍🏻
Black, yellow and......purple, my eyes!
@@saltaireorangebicyclechopp8555 😀 it certainly is a bright combination 👍🏻
@@MerciaMoto I think they should have left off the purple....RE went colour scheme wonky with the Meteor 650 and l think they've carried here with some schemes, it's a cracking looking simple bike with good lines.
Happy new bike, looks great, you should call it the wasp 🐝 judging by it's colour 😂
Thanks Kev. I’ll add that suggestion to the list! 👍🏻😂
Cheers 😀👍🏻
@MerciaMoto Yes mate what you say helps ☺️👍 Cheers from Bundaberg Australia 🇦🇺🍹
@@MerciaMotoAll good at this end Dave, not doing a lot of riding for one reason and another but hopefully will get more in over next few weeks.
Trouble is this bike looks so right there's nothing I would need to change on it or alter 😁
It’s great isn’t it? 😀 RE have done an amazing job! 👍🏻
its a ford zodiac..... late one 1972.... superseded by the mk1 ford granada in 1974
Brilliant 😁thanks for that, you’re clearly someone who knows their cars! Cheers 👍🏻
The car definitely wasn't a Mk1 Cortina. I owned one many years ago and it had various distinguishing features including circular rear lights. Also the Mk1 went out of production in 1966, long before "K" registrations.
@@davebarclay4429 thanks Dave, yeah it was a zodiac I was getting confused with the Mark 2 Cortina. Thanks for watching a leaving a comment 👍🏻
it's not a mk 1 mk 2's came out in late sixties , thats a 72 plate i think ;

😂😂 Thanks Steve, I know what you mean! 😬😬Think I might have to name it Pepperami, I reckon it’s a bit of an animal! 😂😀
The Guerrilla 450 looks like a Himalayan 450 except for a few things 🙂
@@solartechnikundanderespiel7910 thanks for commenting. Indeed, they do have the same engine and I believe the frame is different on the Guerrilla. From what I can glean RE developed them in tandem. 👍🏻
There are so many bikes named bumble bee because of the yellow so with your colour scheme what about the WASP
Evening Dale, good suggestion I’ll add it to the options list 👍🏻 😀
Hi, though I'm new to your channel might I suggest the name "Che" or "Ernesto" (as in Guevara) ?
Thank you and welcome aboard, great to have you along on the channel 👍🏻 thank you for the name suggestions I shall add them to the list 👍🏻😀
The whole design and colours just look a bit weird and it doesn’t make me look back at it as I walk away. So I’ll take a street triple instead.

To be fair he does state how tall he is and inside leg measurement in the video
