Bob, your flower paintings are SO much more interesting than Manet's. (Not that I know anything.. I just know what I like.) I am not a fan of flower paintings AT ALL, but this is a very interesting tutorial. I am so glad Manet inspired you to do your more modern version of flowers. It is difficult to believe that anyone could teach you anything you don't already know. I think Manet would be smiling in heaven seeing you learning from him and generously teaching us. And, I bet he would be a fan of your work.
Years ago i saw Monet's waterlillies first time at MoMa. And the same as you at Manet: i cried because of the unbelievable beauty. Just had to think about that... thank you Bob for all the inspiration!
I did not know that painting can be so amazingly fun and beautiful. I love your flower paintings and the enjoyment I am having painting like you show us!
Beautiful Bob! Thank you for your video and for introducing and explaining Manet and his last flowers! Your passion and emotion comes through by the bucket load!
Your emotional reaction to one of Manet's paintings touches my heart...I had the same reaction to Monet's HAYSTACKS!!!..the quality of light at sunset, sunrise left me breathless!
Yes I really enjoyed this video, I was impressed at your reaction when you saw the painting, thank you for sharing these thoughts, it is very inspiring!
Thank you, Bob, for this video. Manet is my favorite…love his blacks. I’ve ordered the book. You are lucky to go to Muse d’ Orsay and see that painting. I can relate to the emotion.
I understand your emotional feeling seeing Manets painting at Museum D'Orsay. I had same feelings seeing Monets and Renoir paintings upfront and personal...and all the impressionists. Such a wonderful experience I will never forget. I picked up some tips from Renoir and Monet in how they play with dappled light, subtle pink on a girls cheek and surprising light highlight on a man's shoulder was blue not white. I use these in my art too. I love your idea of dark background..gonna try that. And your abstract flowers are wonderful too. You are amazing and inspirational. You have taught me soooooo much too. Thank you for inspiring me to paint. Love from Melbourne Australia.
Hi Bob, from Melbourne, Australia! LOVE your videos! Just discovered them. Your 'fast n messy' style resonates so much with me. (Yours with incredible results tho....Mine will get there, with lots and lots of practice; am just a beginner.) Already, I've experimented with a few tips I've picked up from you....a modo mio! My way! I've never felt happier than when I'm painting and you transmit that absolute, childish joy as you work and teach. Such a great teacher. I wanna save up and come over to the USA and do one of your workshops one day! Thank you for the inspiration!
Merci bobblast ! Je vous adore !
Hi Bob,I’ve only just discovered you this week, and I’m already hooked.Love your looseness.I feel I could whip up a masterpiece in no time,or maybe a hot mess! Thanks for your great tuition.❤️❤️
Being holding their paintings as too precious to give them a new, fresh, look! Very great effects with your Flowers! And using your finger to paint your Focal point! Not precious at all! I could have watched for another Hour! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I can relate to being emotionally affected by a painting. I attended the Van Gogh exhibition at the High Museum in Atlanta years ago. One of his paintings just oozed of expression from that artist. Great lesson here. I did put forth your lesson on painting gesso onto the heavy watercolor paper and then using medium on canvas and the back of the art to attach to the canvas. Works great. I used the prepared acrylic paper instead. Your color wheel is a wonderful guide too!
I love Van Gogh, have you ever watched the scene from Dr who where he goes back to bring Van Gogh to the future to see his exhibition paintings then gets the guy running to the museum to let him know what he thinks of Van Gogh, and he is standing close by listening to what the expert thinks of his work, omg made me cry. lol. I'm not a dr who watched, didn't even know it existed there for a while, now I would watch this if I knew where to watch it after this scene
I'm subscribed but your emails aren't coming to me. I miss them. They also aren't in my trash pile. What can I do to get your wonderful videos sent to me again?

God used this wonderful man, Mr. Burridge to birth my gift of painting that I dreamt about my entire life but never thought I could do. Three days on a zoom class with him and I have been painting ever since. I thank God for you. You have been a blessing to me. To God be the Glory.
That is sensational my friend , I’ve always been one of those painters that are to neat , this is just what I need to show me loose painting and it’s effects are just wow .
Such a wonderful, emotional video…and, “I’m not a botanist - I’m a painter!” I’m going to write that on a card and hang it above my painting table as a reminder! Wonderful!!
Your story about weeping in front of the Manet painting brought me to tears. I did the same at Van Gogh’s museum in Amsterdam. There is power in art work, power in painting. I appreciate what you do for us. For me.
Thank you for always being so enthusiastic and a great teacher Bob
Thank you!

This was the nicest moment I felt in a long time. Thanks
We all love Bob's work, but I have to say, Kate, you do excellent camera work. Very professional! Thanks for helping to make these happen!
Thanks from Kate!
I have had the same reaction at the Impressionist display at the Carnegie
I thought I was the only one that wept in the midst of something beautiful. I love that story about your experience in the museum. 💙
Awesome. Thank you Bob😊
Excellent! Thankyou Bob!
How inspirational Bob…..thank you.

Thank you very much!
YES! This really gets into my art heart! Thank you Bob!
One of my favorite videos!❤❤❤❤
Mine too!
I love it. I broke down and bawled at the Carnegie in Penn. when I was with the impressionists.
Every time I tell this story, I hear from more people who feel the same way. A universal reaction... 🙂
9:05 “it’s always good to be a Gemini”
Loved that as a Gemini rising, I can relate.
Thank you 💖

You just described my path with Manet!!!! Exactly the same paintings!
Thank you!
😍
😊😊
Love your story. I do the same. 😅
Thanks for clarifying being a Gemini... I am too!
Bob how are you attaching those paintings on paper to your wall board?
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Towards the end of Manet's life he painted on his ceiling with a long brush while lying on his back.
Thank you! I need to find a photo of that!

Beautiful! I need to try this! Thanks Bob!
I love your work and play.
Wow! What confidence. Amazing artist and one of the best videos ever.
Thank you for sharing your experience seeing the original. I love that museum. Can’t wait to see you in Montreal soon

This is one of your Best videos!
So much for "cautious" painters to learn about not b
I love Manet. But I love Bob Burridge even more! If you ever come to Brazil, please let me know!! I'll pamper you so much!!
A close up photo of your apron would make a great abstract picture.
Best video you have made Bob really enjoyed it
Get it ... Finally starting 2 C, the important reasoning that contrasting has on the main focus.
Your sentiments are the same as mine exactly
🧡💛💯👍👍
I did the same when I saw Van Gogh's painting I was so moved by it I couldn't control my emotions. I love all the impressionists of that time.🙂
Yup!
❤
I am a Gemini as well.
Such a wonderful, emotional video…and, “I’m not a botanist - I’m a painter!” I’m going to write that on a card and hang it above my painting table as a reminder! Wonderful!!
