i always imagined this version of sans would literally just be the overly goofy and/or dramatic fanonization of his character. just makes sense to me. i dunno if anyone else feels this way because i don't care enough to check.
i also totally support that - i imagine he's really tired but the internet itself is forcing him to play the comedian role. he tries OVERLY HARD to be the "funny meme guy" because he has nothing else in life. he got popular - but at what cost? he's just a shell of what he used to be.
The song kinda supports this to. the motifs are almost entirely megalovania, with the only other ones being metal strike back, & the other one replacing the freedom motif I can't both remember, all songs associated with the over serious, dramatic & emotional fannon sans.
