Kai's theme, concept, design, and voice acting is so frickin awesome! Unfortunately his motivation is all over the place, but I still really like him!

I think it's because he was worried Oogway would die again and he's not all so powerful. He took chi as a source of power to cope with his paranoia by reassuring himself that he can now protect Oogway with it.

The most beautiful Theme, concept, design, weapons, voiceover and in my opinion the one with the best motivation. okay, maybe its purpose and story may not be as high quality and deep as other villains. but I think it's Kai who has the most interesting story. As they say, SIMPLE BUT BEAUTIFUL?That's exactly what kai means. kai's story may be the Least detailed and the Poorest of them all, but I think it's definitely the best. okay, the other villain's story might be deeper and of higher quality, but that doesn't mean Kai's "background story isn't weak or deep." or it doesn't mean "very poor quality or no maintenance"...
... Absolutely I agree. Kai is the one with the best theme, concept, design, voice acting and even I think the most interesting story and the best motivation.
So in short, I think:
Best Story and Villian = Kai
Top Quality and Motivation = Tai Lung
Deepest Story and emotions = Lord Shen.
kai's story is exactly like "SIMPLE but So good". Okay Kai's Story may not be as High and Deep as the other Villans' story. It may be simpler than others, but I think it is the most interesting and beautiful. Kai's story is certainly not of poor quality or lack of care. only the one with the Least Quality and Least elaborate story. Because all the movies and villains of the Kung fu Panda Series are My Perfect, Man! But Definitely the Plot is the best one. Most people don't like Kai's motivation compared to other villians but I like it more than any of the others.
His motivation seems pretty compelling for me.
a villain born from the desire to protect, after his brother almost died, kai realized his own and his brother's mortality, which led him to seek more power to be able to protect themselfs, however he was unexpectedly attacked and killed by his own brother, who feared his desire for power, which made kai come to hate him, and what was once a quest for power in the name of fear and love, became a quest for power in the name of greed and revenge.
What we have in the movie, is kai's motivation from oogway's point of view, that's why it seems like there is no real motivation for his actions.
The way the beat picks up when Kai swings his blades in a circular motion and it also hits the same time as the beat itself was just really cool
And when it hits the ground and makes the noise and everytime the chains ⛓️ makes the clank sound

I love how they used I'm so sorry by imagine dragons as the base for the melody... it just fits so well... that or by some coincidence the two songs share the exact same melody, which seems very unlikely that it would be sheer coincidence
Edit: Just went off to check about what was going on, so apparently Hans Zimmer and one of the band members from Imagine Dragons are 'buddies' as they put it, and so yeah, Hans got the motif from them!

edit: At the time of making this comment, there was a long period of time beforehand where there just weren't many covers of this. At best they were 1 to 1 copies with little variation. Perhaps in the time I stopped looking, a lot of them popped up and I just didn't know.
I will admit though, nowadays, they really are just everywhere lmao, a great surprised for past me regardless.

He has a cool motif, but when you hear it for the 828827372838829th time it feels repetitive, which is why I personally prefer Shen's theme and its variety (just my opinion tho. Kai's theme is still badass as hell)

@@Edit_maker_ He lost his power easily like he was nothing (because he got nerfed) because of some weak villain named Cameleon she was she became a villain because they said that she was too small to join any martial arts school which doesn't make sense because Mantis is smaller than her so that why she became evil also so she used magic power to take the form of kung fu master but she can't use the abilities of the kung fu master so she needs the staff of Po to open the spirit realm and steal their powers and being a respect kung fu master to stop making her insecure and what the fans hate every villain bow to Po EVEN SHEN...... SHEN KILLED HIS MOM AND HIS RACE AND HE WAS SMILING. What also doesn't make sense is that Kai isn't supposed to exist because at the final fight between Po and Kai, he got overcharged and exploded at the spirit realm when he was already dead so the whole film doesn't respect the timeline of the previous Kung FU Panda movies. Sorry for the big text 😅

also, do you take request ? if you do, there's this 1 Kung-Fu Panda 3 OST that plays during the Kai vs Oogway fight in the spirit realm early in the movie. The problem is there's no "clean version" of this OST existed, nor the actual OST ever got released on the Hans Zimmer KFP3 Playlist.
it's probably a combination of some OST into 1, but it's such a bummer.

Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. The spinning bacon, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing. This is one of the greatest work from a piece of bacon I have ever seen especially on 57:42.I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was at 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear.
