In fact, I think Durufle's transcription is in vol 10 of the Barenreiter edition of Vierne's organ works. I've just ordered it for the Meditation, a beautiful piece.
I think it was Duruflé who transcribed improvisations by Tournemire, including the Victimae Pascale which I used to play. Some of the transcription is questionable (that difficult pedal solo at high speed and with copious jumps) and people like Malcolm Archer now think that section was played on a manual 16' reed. In any case the quality of recorded sound in 1920s and 30s was not great and I feel Duruflé passed a rather severe aural test with flying colours!
It's not. The one he's playing from was transcribed in 2015 by Danijel Drilo and is available on IMSLP. Durufle transcribed the Three Improvisations in 1954 and not in public domain.

This somehow does not sound like a Durufle transcription. I wonder if it is a transcription by Vierne after the original transcription?

Yes that's right. It has mistakes in which I have attempted to correct by listening to the original 1928 recording
