Another fantastic instalment Marek, Shirt looks pretty cool I must buy one….looking forward to the charity walk buddy 👍 stay cool
Thanks cool dude. I would strongly advise getting a T-shirt. Current sales are.......1.
@@cdwc I hope this isn't still the case. 🙂
Freshly sliced bloomer with salted butter (NO MARG OR MAYO) thinly sliced, freshly cooked steak with English mustard. Or freshly sliced granary bread with salted butter again, and bitter thick cut marmalade. Just like Paddington bear. (Or mechanically recovered face meat sausages in plastic-could-survive-an-apocalypse-white-bread to satisfy a grubby itch.)
I agree with the steak and mustard. I used to have marmalade sandwiches everyday for school for about a year, but in my experience they go soggy if you make them in the morning and eat them at lunch time.
Some good art and some good 'could do it myself' art in that gallery.
On Sunday I made a ridiculous amount of butter chicken curry, so all week I have been eating butter chicken curry sandwiches and I never got bored of them, that's my favourite right now. My second best is the BLT.
I have never tried a butter chicken sandwich. I am a big fan of butter chicken curry and also lamb pasanda.
Two of my most memorable sandwich fillings have been pasta with pesto and scotch egg with Mayo and ketchup.
Stay cool x
Hang on. Pasta and Pesto? Saying that I do occasionally like a Pot Noodle sandwich. Toasted bread obviously.
Another great episode wandering around Londinium, marvelous. T-shirts shrink in the wash or too much Bao Yum for lunch - you decide.
I am going to become the face and stomach of Bao Yums.
A club T shirt! Definitely one for my collection.
Get five.
@@cdwc LOL. Getting that merchandise out the door is tougher than trying to photograph a poltergeist.
Great upbeat opening music to your video Cool Dude.
King "Cool Dude" has a good ring to it! Kings have Pots of Gold aswell as Servants.😄
Tuna, Onion & Mayo or Chicken Salad & Mayo, my favourite sandwiches, Yum!
Love the T-shirts, will definitely be putting an order through.
Take Care & Stay Cool! 🌞🚴♀️
Yes I like the music. I found it on RUclips, it really reminds me of some of the drum solos in Whiplash. One of the greatest films of the past ten years (they shot it in about 17 days - that is my film fact).
@@cdwc The actors & actresses of Whiplash certainly knew their stuff if it only took 17 days to make or they had a tight budget! My favourite drummer is Cozy Powell in Dance With The Devil, slow drumming at the start then it gets faster & faster, (bit like my cycling!)😃
Nice one! Love the t-shirts. I loved that picture of the twins who gave birth on the same day although the babies looked a bit catatonic and stiff. Worth your 15 minute masterpiece treatment though.
Yes one day I'll get round to doing some more masterpieces.
Rewatching Feb ‘24
vee ice cream van is painting in cool dudes walking club colours.
Yes. They should give me free ice cream.
Very interesting with the story you found Marek
Thanks cool dude.
pretty good facts
A Factpot. (I was trying to mix fact and jackpot).
Top facting, top narrative and top new merch! Needed my Cool Dudes fix today and you delivered! I chortled and sniggered the entire way through. It was particularly amusing. Have you thought about doing t-shirts with the 'thumbs up logo guy' (from the end credits, bottom right hand corner) on the back? A bit of clever 'viral marketing' and we could have your design become the new 'must have' garb for festivals and the like. We will have all the celebs crying out for them! Sarnie of choice currently fish fingers and brown sauce. Rescued Thursday this week! CD#123
Yes a 'Stay Cool' t-shirt with a green version of the logo would be good. I have to sell these first. Ha.
PS: Cool Dude #219 was so thrilled to see our Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose appear on screen she let out an involuntary squeal of delight.
It was fantastic seeing it in the flesh. The lanterns look almost luminous the way he painted them. I find that I seem to form an attachment to paintings after I've done copies of them.
@@cdwc it's pretty special isn't it? I've always liked Atkinson-Grimshaw for his ability to make light glow in his works, but CLLR really is something else when you see the real thing. I'm so glad you liked it.
All hail King Marek!
Yes exactly. You have just been made a Duke for your loyalty to the throne.
When are you going to do your next BIG walk?
I've done a Cool Dudes Trail which I have to edit, and am planning another big walk for October.
Informative walk Marek! Your bao buns however looked very sad, my sister in law comes from segamat, Malaysia & I can vouch they make absolutely amazing ones there, peel the outer layer off first for hygiene purposes, bit like miners here back in the day chucking away the thick crust edges from their pasties 👍
One day I will have this delicious Malaysian bao bun you speak of.
Another very cool and tip top video. My wife and I visited London last weekend for the first time in a very, very long time. I already fancy going back again and this has given me lots of places to check out next time. And lots more times thereafter.
Top tip for UK cool dudes: write to your local MP and they can (once it’s restored) arrange for you to have a free tour of the House of Parliament and also go up the Elizabeth Tower. For free!!!
Yes I have heard about that secret tour. This book is pretty good for Central London walks.
B.E.S.T. ( Bacon, egg, sausage and tomato ) rules supreme in the hot sandwich world in my book whilst ham and cheese enhanced by a good chutney on crusty bread is my favourite cold sarnie. Coronation Chicken is yummy though. Nice walk too!
The B.E.S.T is the same as the all day breakfast one right? I also agree with some sort of chutney to spice up the ham and cheese. I am a big fan of Colman's mustard. Also I think grated cheese always seems much better in sandwiches as opposed to slices.
Another lovely walk teaching a useful range of info and skills along the way:
-Historical facts
-Art appreciation
-How to deal with drunks
-Remembering lunch, or, how to manage the distress of forgetting lunch
-Successfully interacting with the Fuzz
-When your route is impeded
-'The smallest bell has the longest clapper' and other proverbs
I'm surprised you haven't been head-hunted to produce remote learning materials for the national curriculum.
In terms of sandwich fillings I weirdly have also been well into coronation chicken recently. I go through phases of really liking it, and I made my own recently which was a little less mayonnaise-heavy and a tad more spicy, and it made an excellent sandwich or toast-topping. It sounds weird but I also really like a tomato sandwich: fresh white bread, buttered, with some nice slices of beef tomato that have been allowed to come to room temperature, salt and pepper to taste and a couple of torn basil leaves if you want. I only started having them recently when trying to expand my sandwich repertoire but they're really good. I have a copy of Mrs Beeton from around 1900 which has some interesting sandwich suggestions that I'm keen to try, including her 'good for invalids' toast sandwich.
Those beef tomatoes sandwiches sound nice. Tomatoes always seem to taste nicer in Spain. I agree about Coronation Chicken, it is definitely one I like for a week or so then go for something different. I have also been enjoying cheese, salami with a bit of burger sauce (which is basically dill sauce). I edited that bit out of the video due to someone in a noisy car driving past.
That was an excellent stroll Marek . People where massive made me lol. King of the cool dudes👍😎
Thanks Jag. Hope things are all going well. Enjoying the videos.
What a great interesting walk of London, a variety of interesting things along the way and impressed by your artistic talents 😀
Thanks for your kind words cool dude.
Awwww man! I was in that part of London last Wednesday and Thursday. I think it may have been the same day. :D Nice walk Marek.
Yes it was filmed on a Wednesday. A shame I missed you. Would have also been an extra three points in the Spotter's Handbook!
oh I did a bit of that walk just wandering around by Westminster when I was over. I got to go through that bit of school you missed. looks like a lovely day for a walk. Stay cool. #8
That looked like the best bit of the walk to be fair. One day I will revisit.
Marmite AND Jam!
Blueeerggggghhhhh!
Banger x
Nice one dude.
Great episode Marek, really enjoyed it. Love the history. I'm with you on the Sandwiches. Coronation Chicken sandwiches are amazing. 👍 Even nicer on a Baguette. 😊 I shall be purchasing a T-shirt as soon as I can. 👍 Stay cool.
Yes a fresh baguette beats bread and butter hands down. Stay cool.
A really lovely walk- you are making London seem almost worth a visit! T-shirts look pretty darn cool too.
Favourite sandwich filling currently is a lightly mayo'd tuna with sundried tomatoes & rocket on soft white bread.
A difficult choice as I spent 6 years as a professional sandwich maker! The most popular ones that we used to sell were Chicken, Bacon & Avocado... or if the avocado's weren't ripe it was the brie, bacon & cranberry. Though ham, cheese & coleslaw was also surprisingly popular. Weirdest sandwich I was ever asked to make was a chicken with egg mayo and mustard, which just felt wrong on many levels.
Six years! The Chicken, Bacon and Avocado sounds good. I admit I sometimes go for ham, cheese and coleslaw as it feels like a safe choice. The brie, bacon and cranberry sounds like an excellent winter sandwich.
As for London, the bit around the City and the Thames is really great I think.
I think six burgers is making a pig of yourself, especially if they're Woppers.
Favourite sandwich filling :- peanut butter, banana and jam.
Ha. That sandwich sounds gross.
I was literally just thinking about you. So glad to see this this morning. 😊👍
Like the Gas Meter joke 😁
Thanks cool dude. Hope you are enjoying yourself out there.
crusty loaf (brown or white), strongest farmhouse cheddar possible, marmite. for a treat add a handful of cress.
Cress never gets mentioned any more. It's about time I grew some near my sink.
@@cdwc it has been scientifically proven that cress grows best when the sunlight is polarized through the glass of a kitchen window. never try to grow cress anywhere other than close to the sink.
Favourite sandwich at the moment is salami, leerdamer cheese, rocket and Mayo
I am also going through a salami and cheese phase with a bit of dill sauce. Leerdamer is a great cheese.
Nice bit of history covered by that walk - as for my favourite sandwich filling at the moment, that would be sausage, egg and bacon, although coronation chicken, fish fingers and peanut butter all come a close 2nd (not all in the same sandwich, I am not a monster).
In terms of hot sandwiches I agree with the fish finger sandwich, with a heavy serving of tartare sauce and iceberg lettuce.
Egg and cress is the best sandwich filling. Only from Sainsbury's though
Egg sandwiches make want to puke.
@@cdwc youre aff yer heid son
My Bell End. I used to live there.
Nice shirt.
Cheese and salad with red onion and black pepper. 🤗
Red onion and cheese is an excellent combo. I agree.
Just got around to watching this. It very much cheered me up.🙂 I've been in one of those moods today where I just want to punch everyone in the face.
My fave sandwich is either a tuna cheese melt or fishfingers, loads of mayo and lettuce.
What about tartar sauce with the fish fingers? Mmmmmm
@@cdwc I have to be in the mood for it because I find a bit sharp. 🙂
Foucault took Bentham’s idea of the Panopticon and abstracted it to all of society, dear Marek.
I saw a dog throw up once and it looked like coronation chicken but it was warm. (I had to clear it up as it was at the boarding kennels I worked at)
This has now put me off Coronation Chicken forever.
Cool Dudes Walking Club Yeah, sorry about that. I was just surprised about how close the colour and consistency was. Chunky yellow.
I was just rewatching this today, because FB memories reminded me of it & I'm excited about svisiting again soon. Wondering if you got a bonus point for the ice cream van actually matching the Spotter's Handbook colors? #StayCool #8
Is that Vorticism sculpture at 3:20 General Grievous?
I had to look him up. It certainly seems he may have been based on that bit of Vorticism.
I had to look up vorticism; quite liked the ones you showed. Interesting progression from going back in time to the very modern protests and police. Good to know you're returning to IoW soon. Hope your family are all well.
Thanks Jennifer. I really enjoyed the Vorticism bit, especially the sculptures. They still seemed very modern.
@@cdwc I never got a notification for your reply and thought you were ignoring my comments. Lol
Corned beef and encona sandwich 😋
I haven't heard of anyone eating corn beef since the 80s.
@@cdwc Still has strong following and we freely refer to it as dog food because, well, that's what it smells like. There's Scottish dish called stovies that uses it and its a proper winter warmer. Maybe a contender for this year's Marek Makes a Meal of It?
Mate get your caricature on the t shirts that would be cool, dude.
I have to sell these first dude. Ha.
Given the police operation I guess you didn't pop over to the Pelicans in St.James Park. They're descendants of pelicans gifted to the British royal family by Russia. Additional pelicans were a gift from the Czech people
Tuna and cucumber
A classic.
Peanut butter, cheese and marmite please!
That is an extreme flavoured sandwich.
Thranks again.
Thrank you.
Far too many people about, it spoils the ambience. I much prefer your country rambles.
As for sandwiches, fishfingers or maybe a BLT. Stay cool 👋
Don't worry there is an Isle of Wight trail coming soon.
No 3XL shirts? What about us fat bastards, Marek? :(
The 2XL is the biggest they do I'm afraid.
