  • Alright, let's start it up! Welcome to an exhilarating gameplay commentary video of Deceive Inc, featuring the villain, Hans! Join me as we dive into the thrilling world of espionage and deception in this action-packed multiplayer game.

    Hired by Deceive Inc to steal the package, Hans must grab keycards and field upgrades to complete the mission.
    For this mission we've chosen the following loadout:
    Hans's Weapon 2: The Jab | Shotgun 23, ADS BS 20, ADS HS 30 | Mag Size 10 | Reload Speed 1.85s | Rate of Fire 2.0shots/s | Damage falloff hip: 10m-20m(50%), Damage falloff ads: 20m-30m(60%).
    Hans's Expertise 1: Incapacitor Orb | Stance | CD 40s | Hans shoots an large orb that applies Neutralize, preventing Rivals using their Expertise, and Slowed (40%) for 4.5s.
    Hans's Passive 2: Fear Projection | Hans' Rivals project a wave when Hans breaks their cover. Rivals caught in the wave get their cover blown and gain Slowed (40%) for 2s.
    Along with the following Gadgets:
    Tripwire: Place down a tripwire beacon which connects to all other tripwire beacons within 8m. When an enemy walks through the tripwire they lose their cover and are traced for 5s. Cooldown: 30s on destroy or 0s on pickup. Tripwires share a cooldown, where if one tripwire is recharging and another one is destroyed, they both need another 30s to recharge.
    BounceMat: Places a bounce pad that can bounce you and others upwards. Auto deflates after 1.3s. Cannot be reinflated after deflation for 1s. Cooldown: 60s on destroy or 0s if picked back up.

    I want to clarify that the "Autopath from A to C" I brought up in Game 1 was a purposefully extreme example. I meant to indicate that there is a line where I think the "players move like NPCs" can be taken too far. I do not think we are at that line yet.

      isn't hans weapon 3 going to be completely useless until it gets buffed? 40x2 and 2 melee hits is really long and then if you miss, your guaranteed to lose the fight. It seems to me that weapon 2 will be best hans weapon after patch and W3 will be completely dead. they seem to do that for hans. they keep switching up his metas weapons where 1 of his options is very bad, 1 is mediocre and 1 is really strong. So now it is like W1 is mediocre weapon, W2 is probably his best weapon and his W3 is now the "bad" weapon.

      The part about it being auto corrected I have a problem with since it's a big part of learning the game and this update seems to kill that aspect and makes me feel like it's not as fun to play because of that one point.

    I'm all for NPCs sometimes acting more like players rather than letting players act like NPCs through no effort of their own. It's better to have more false positives as camouflage. This helps cut down on RDM, protects noobs, and allows room to develop blending skills. Giving players an NPC mode does the opposite.

    I would like to see them add NPC specific reactions to character portraits. For example when a staff member crouches and panics when a fight nearby happens, you can replicate that as a player by crouching but since the game is in first person you can't tell if you're actually panicking or not. It would be nice to add a visual representation in the character portrait

    I would like to say that, as a console player, and a player who just recently got into the game because of you, I think this is a nice accessibility feature. I do agree that they shouldn’t go overboard with it though.

    The NPC bump is a good change (if it works) because that's pretty hard to do without being able to see your character in a more third person view. It's not reasonable to expect everyone to learn how to do something they can't get proper feedback for within the game. Devs' change is probably easiest solution to that issue to implement without spending way too much time and resources on it.

    I'm grateful for the auto npc bump because as a console player, that's nigh impossible to do on controller.

    I think it's kind of a step in a right direction. I think it's much more interesting to have there be less fights and more catching players in the act and forcing identity reveals than spotting random misallaigned npc behavior imo. Especially with smaller lobby sizes it's much easier for games to end in phase 1 or 2 now.

    I agree that too much loss of skill expression and nuance would likely be bad for the game as a whole even if it might make the new player experience better at the start it would remove some of the potential player retention by having less things for the player to learn and master. There is already a lot of downtime in the game, but due to the complexity of movement and having to analyze the environment it doesn’t feel inherently boring. That being said them including a tutorial on how to move like a npc, explaining the bump and allowing them to practice it in first and third person would be healthy for the game. That way there is still room for player error so people can spot it out but at the same time they know about it and to look out for it.

    I am curious about the NPC bump! It feels easy to overaccentuate on console, and probably looks even more sus when I try lol. So hopefully that's a good change.

    You said my exact thoughts, knowing and mimicking the nuisances of npc behavior is a skill, in almost any situation I’d say it’s a bad idea to lower the skill floor if nothing else not mentioning how it alters gameplay, it feels like a slap in the face to the people who practiced over hundreds of games to learn how npcs act.

    I saw people getting really mad about the nerf to kuni and katana, don’t know how it will be received but I feel like it will still be a good weapon, just requires way more skill to use now do to less damage per second

      I think they're trying nerf 1 shots. Idk, W2 for Satori is probably most interesting weapon for him because it is only weapon that changes his play-style that is different from other agents. So his most defining weapon is now being gutted making the character boring.

    i really like this game but what i hate about it that im always matched up vs lvl 500 players that i have almost no chance against because i just recently started playing

      Ya unfortunately there's just not enough players playing at one time to avoid that. If you're not account level 25 yet and play Solo's you should still be getting a more bots in matches, but after that it can be rough going I know
