Because Kenshin's the underdog of anime today, he was pretty much forgotten until jump force came around and a bunch or Naruto and One Piece normies got their asses handed to them by the king of anime swordsmen

@@luca_uy6529 Idk where you are looking but kenshin was never forgotten. I ALWAYS heard it mentioned in conversations about peoples favourite anime and manga. Even though I wasn't very familiar with it my self. I finally watched it last year though after constant pestering. And I love it.
Also I was a hot topic for a bit when the author got caught for you know what.

Yeah heard about that, really put a bad name on the show as there was a bit of talk about removig Kenshin from Jump Force, but I grew up watching Rurouni Kenshin and as the years went on I've noticed he's never really mentioned by people who make anime content on RUclips, idk maybe i wasn't looking hard enough but the show never really reached into main stream anime

About accusations the creator got tho he only got a small time punishment. Kenshin hokaido arc has been back for a few months now. He still has his fans

There was a 2D fan made fighting game made for Kenshin as well. It's not quite on the level of Hyper DBZ, but Rurouni Kenshin Soul & Sword is pretty good though.
