Charlie is undoubtedly a mastermind and we know all too well that he would have been a great winner too. I know he has what it takes to shake it off and get over the bad blood between him and Maria. I bet it didn’t even take a fortnight. We were all enchanted with his game and could really appreciate his style. Karma was truly on his side for a majority of the season because he played with so much integrity instead of being an anti-hero.
The blank space for the million didn’t have his name on it, but at least he got to experience his wildest dreams by playing Survivor. He played a delicate end game, and his only blindspot is that he should have known Maria was trouble when she walked in. But as far as Kenzie winning, we have another hair stylist from a disaster purple tribe becoming Sole Survivor two spring seasons in a row. We are definitely in a lavender haze.
Oh and to all the people who keep spouting the Maria hate: you need to calm down.

This season was truly a parody of the big moves era. We see players constantly concerned with making big and flashy moves that don’t really make a lot of sense only to have a social player who fully admitted to driving nothing to win the game based on her emotional connections. She went from wanting to blindside her number one purely for her resume to embracing that she was a social butterfly. Perfect ending to the hilarity of 46.

I think there was one mistake Charlie made - he should have voted out Kenzie instead of Venus
Kenzie was always a much bigger jury threat than Venus
Venus didn't have any social capital at that point

Felt bad for Maria when the challenge thing happened but when she didn’t vote Charlie, my sympathy went away 😂 but Kenzie is a good winner. Just can’t believe she wouldn’t vote her bestie in the game who did nothing for Maria to be bitter at him

That is kind of how I feel. 😂 But at the same time Maria could have simply voted for Charlie just to be like well you got help to win that challenge you won't get my vote to win this game. I would have been petty that way for sure. But she chose a different route.

As an immigrant I can easily see why she would vote for Kenzie and not Charlie. Kenzie explaining how she worked extremely hard for her entire life with little return and how she just wants to win for herself must resonate with Maria a lot. Charlie is a young guy in his early 20s who’s come from middle/ upper middle class (Literally goes to Harvard/not saying he didn’t earn it but let’s be real you don’t get into Harvard without even a little bit of money).

Also, Kenzie's husband has a successful business and career, too. Choosing based on "who is more poor" is frowned upon for a reason when it should be about SURVIVOR. Kenzie was my favorite, I'm not mad she won. But it is clear that Charlie should have won and would have won if his number one wasn't a narcissist throwing a tantrum. I also loved Liz's decision to help Kenzie -> it was BOLD! It accomplished her goal. Like y'all said, Survivor is not a game of challenges. Being a 'challenge beast' does not guarantee you safety. I'm really excited to see how this opens up the game for future players. We've seen folks talk about word puzzles before or look at someone else's progress... but this level of assistance is new and creates a really cool new dynamic for folks to play with.

Couldn’t disagree more with the final 5 challenge take. Helping someone verbally sure. But they need to draw the line for physically teaming up in an individual challenge especially when they are down to the final 5. I also think the only reason they let it slid was because it most likely wasn’t discussed before the challenge hence the contestants being surprised at the final portion of the challenge. They have stopped it before in 23 for picking up pieces for other players so in order to keep it consistent in this case it should have been stopped.

The conversation at the end about Charlie's tone and supposed lack of emotion bothers me.
I'm on the Autism spectrum. Autistic people have a reputation for being unemotional. This couldn't be further from the truth. Many Autistic people struggle to control their emotions as children, and end up having emotional outbursts. They are then chastised or punished for these outbursts, and are told that they are not appropriate. As these Autistic children age, they learn to control their "outbursts," but they do it by keeping hold of their emotions entirely. It's not apathy. It's stoicism. In order to keep their cool, many Autistic people, myself included, will declare how they are feeling rather than showing it. I don't know if Charlie is on the Autism spectrum or not, but his blunt statement about absolutely having come to win reminded me of myself on countless other occasions.
Calling someone "robotic," or judging that they aren't serious because they weren't emotive enough, is ableist. It's a constant struggle for Autistic people, because we aren't taken seriously when we plainly state what we want or how we're feeling, and then when we eventually blow up we're accused of overreacting.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not upset with David and Jessica. I'm a big fan of the podcast, and if everyone in the world was neurotypical, their opinions on the subject would make sense. But that's kind of the point. Neurodivergent people exist. It sucks that society expects everyone to fit into the same mold, and punishes the people who don't. How people responded to Charlie, and how David and Jessica think he *should* have acted, is representative of a larger issue within our culture.

I think the clips showing Charlie throw Marea under the bus could also have added fuel to the fire she saw in Kenzie's eyes. Like Charlie went around agreeing with other people that Marea is such a big threat and she drove xyz vote. Like he was propping her up even more. And it's possible that Marea found out he was throwing her under the bus behind her back days before f5. 2:06:49

There should definitely be a rule that at the Final 5 immunity challenge - no one can help each other. It’s the LAST challenge where there is an actual vote out at tribal afterwards. I just don’t think it’s fair at all. Honestly I would be okay with all the immunity challenges having this rule because I don’t like what this could devolve into - but at LEAST outright ban it at the Final 5.

first 10 minutes and I am already frustrated.
What David and Jessica have to understand is that rules have to be fair. Outcomes can be unfair.
When Jessica drew rock the rules were fair, only outcome was unfair.
Contestants touching other contestant's pieces, puzzles, etc. should be banned by rule. Verbal help is fine.
In this case, since rule allowed it, Liz and Kenzie can't be called cheaters because the fault is within the rule. bcoz the loser producers of Survivor are just too stupid.
eg: Laura physically doing puzzles of Tina in caramoan instead of verbal helping.
Players should be not allowed to touch other player's pieces, walk through other player's path, etc. Anything Verbal is fine.

      @pinkmapviolin 3 месяца назад

Yeah, I think if Liz just went down and counted Kenzie’s holes instead of actually grabbing the piece then the end effect would have been the same but it would have been less controversial because it still would have technically just been verbal help.

  • @ErinRoss-bs7ok

OK - my hot fire take. Making fire wouldn't have helped Charlie -- but it DID help Kenzie. Not because it's a "move," but it's a part of her narrative. Prior to the challenge, I said that if Kenzie won fire, it would cement her underdog story -- always fighting from the beginning. Kenzie took it one part further, and added that she started the game without fire. And if Maria is to be believed, firemaking did influence her vote.
I think with more social-game emotional juries like this one, narrative is really starting to matter. With such a close social game, Kenzie had the best story. So my take is that Charlie should have done fire. Not to deny Kenzie the "move," but to stop her from getting that satisfying ending to her story.
(Also, glad to see Liz getting the credit she deserves. Too many people see the Kenzie & Ben interviews and go 'of course they're saying nice things about her, they're friends!' Consider, perhaps, that people are being... honest? I'm certain the folks who were there have a much better take on Liz' game than those of us at home.)
