I'm off to bed now, 1.20 am here in Australia. So jealous of you, the fishing is so much better over there and our fish regulations are ridiculous. I'll watch tomorrow
We've been planning our first trip to the Gulf. I google mapped the area and immediately saw Perdido Pass and it's jetties. Saw a place to stay right there where we can walk to fish. Then of course found your channel. Got the whole family stoked to get down there. Thanks!
Was down in gulf shores. Decided to get a saltwater license to fish the pier. Of course i stopped by hooked up bait and tackle. Saw your brother. Got me some frozen shrimp and some pre made hooks with leader and weight. It was blowing 25 mph out of the south the 4 days we were there. Still caught some whiting and some pigfish. Love your channel. It has fired me up to go fishing. Thanks Brother!!!
From Abilene, Texas, want to wish you and your family a very blessed Thanksgiving and upcoming weekend. Continue to make these wonderful educational videos and looking forward to seeing more soon. Kevin
Ya I watch u late night to show and food teaching is the best 🎉 bama. Keep making them shows they relax me funny to say I live in New England Boston you guys some of the best fish in ocean love shows bill w. Keep them coming amen best to you and show
Like watching your stuff. Gives me an insight into the salt water fishing that I don't get to experience up in the North Georgia mountains. Keep up the good work. Tight Lines!
Hey brother, I love your videos. I have cooked up and eaten a couple of remora. They actually taste fantastic! You got to remember they eat little pieces of fresh cut fish from the sharks and other predatory fish that they swim around. Definitely got to give it a try at least once.
As someone who thought the “sucker fish” would be awful tasting, they are actually really good! My buddies and I saw someone cleaning them at the Panama City beach pier and we tried it. Sooooo good! Definitely recommend trying it once! Make sure it’s a decent size one! Just clean it, skin it, and turn it into nuggets.
Really like your channel, but I was suprised to see you hook the jigs into the guides on your rods. The hook can scratch the guide (especially ceramic) and wear on the line as it passes through. Just passing along a tip my dad gave me 50-60 years ago.
@@BamaSaltwater I understand. It might be better to do a couple to a few videos on the knot tyiing, and attach them as links below, or attach someone elses link on those knots. Some I think I know, but some I'm sure I don't; mainly when you have a wire leader to some kind of mono, and then to braid. Maybe just do some of the more complex stuff. Anyway, your videos are great! Thanks
my wife is not a fish person but she’ll eat fresh spanish for breakfast! lol! in carolina the spanish bite on the pier usually only last a couple hours at dawn.
That set up is all you need for fishing trips sharp looking and truck they look good lunches and takeoffs. Sun sets sun rise pics god is good all that he made right down to fish
The boat and truck sharp looking set up to fish and on channel pompano fish jig does damage. On all kinds of fish light set ups good frights and good times amen videos are awesome to watch
Steve, you're not supposed to hook your hooks on to your rod. Guides, they put scratches on the stainless steel or on the porcelain, and it will cause line fray. Hook it to the frame of the guide

You know what no one does? No one takes a screenshot of google maps showing the precise location where they were fishing. Was that perdido pass bridge there at the end?
@@TheMrplayitsafe it’s only on the very end between a couple of markers because majority of people are going to be drifting baits or casting lures and bottom fishing can cause a tangle
They are some damn good fish. I have had Remora many times....Trust me when I tell you that trash fish they are not. YOu have to get a big one because you dont get a whole lot of meat.
everytime i go there, tourists are beyond the line and getting in the way, i stopped fishing there because of that, one tourist knocked my pole off into the water, was a cheap bait rod thank god, but still, was nerve racking.
I have a great recipe for suckerfish. Pre-heat your oven to 350. Make a nice rub with old bay, paprika, and oregano. Slather with butter, inside and out, then rub on your spices. Cook wrapped in foil for 16 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes. Then, while still wrapped in the foil, throw the whole thing in the trash.
Best fishing RUclipsr on the Gulf coast ❤❤❤
I have been sick for 5 days now and I think I have re watched 60 videos and that’s what is keeping me going
Prayers for a speedy recovery!
I'm off to bed now, 1.20 am here in Australia. So jealous of you, the fishing is so much better over there and our fish regulations are ridiculous. I'll watch tomorrow
They nail everyone with regulations and laws except big corporations running deep sea half mile wide nets
Bro you need to come to NZ
Dude, I watch those vids of people fishing holes in the GBR. That's amazing fishing.
Big pelagic diversity too, basically every tuna, 5 mackerels, 3 bonito, 4 amberjacks, and 4 of their salmon.
@@moopius we have good fishing over here and in QLD the regs are decent but the fishing over there is definitely better in some situations
Yes another great video Steven it's always a pleasure watching your channel ❤❤

Definitely ! Thank you!! The Blue Ridge mountains are beautiful, Helen is fun, and a few lakes like Alatoona, etc, but nothing compares to the gulf!!
Love it. Miss your beach fishing videos as well!
Thanks and I need to get back out there, I just love being on my boat !
@ dude I totally get it! I’ve been looking for a center console for saltwater, but my wife continues to remind me that we’re 6 hours from the beach 😂
Just moved to Alabama from Texas. Gonna be doing a lot of fishing and I hope to make it to the Coast tro try out the pier.
Love the pier fishing!!!

Went to watch the video and found I was unsubscribed. What the heck....as always, great vid. Always enjoy your channel.
Love to fish off of that pier!!!
Me too!!
The old SHaD RAp!
You need to get a kayak for those windy days for inshore.
I really like it when you fish without the boat like most of us do.
I was raised bank and pier fishing, it's my favorite way. But my boat makes me feel free ! Thankfully we have many opportunities for both styles !!
@@BamaSaltwater I loved the boat fish when I could do it. I'm not putting that down at all. Just grew up fishing off the bank with my grandmother.
What Blank is the custom rod?

Very cool! Are you letting the jig sink and lifting it off the bottom? I have never used one of those.
Cast it, let it sink, the jig it up until it's just below the surface then repeat !
Time to make some dip!
Definitely did !!!
how can u tell if a king is eating ur cigar minnows like what does it feel like when they eat ur bait
They will take it and strip line off extremely fast, also from the pier, you can see it most of the time
Do you use any satellite communication devices when you go off shore out of the cellphone range?
I keep a Garmin inReach Mini clipped to my belt
Happpy thanks gigving
Yo Stephen, do they still have the pin fish catcher under the cleaning tables at Sportsmans ??
Not for sure!
hey brother, have you ever tried the salted shrimp and squid bait hack?
I salt/ brine most of my bait before I freeze it
🤘

Hook it to the frame of the guide
@@chriss8206 I know! I try to tell everyone that lol. Let someone use my rod the day before and they put it there. Drives me crazy
That's a really nice spanish.
What hides in the grass?
Really? I was hoping for offshore big game bottom fishing!❤❤
Yall still have Spanish and kings that close to shore?
So far, but not for long after these colder days
"Axe Handle" Spanish is what we used to call the big ones !!
Yup!!! Exactly
GO GO GADGET BEARD!!
Hehe
Remoras taste like cobia but you need a giant to get enough meat to be worthwhile
