You truly have a thoughtful way of speaking. I can feel the love for your family and history coming through the video. Its a great talent as well as your baking prowess!
Erin video days are my favouritest days! She inspired me to start baking about three years ago and I haven't looked back. Now people get excited to hear I'm baking something for their birthday. I'm so thankful for all her encouragement and kindness throughout her videos that have given me the confidence and skills to be able to create delicious treats for my loved ones. Thank you, Erin! 🥰
Some neighbors and I started "The Breakfast Club" at my apartment. Every Sunday, a growing group meets for a pot luck brunch. I made this recipe today. People are talking!! 😊 I give you creds and share your channel. Thank you, Erin! ❤
Thank you for using Makers Mark!! I was born in '71 and my entire life, until she died, my great grandmother said, "Only use Makers Mark booze in your sweet treats!! Use it instead of vanilla if you want. Toss a jigger in there and have you one too!!" 😂To this day, this is always in my cabinet with my baking stuff. ALWAYS. There is a natural sweet to this bourbon and added to a sweet recipe takes it to another level. I make a Makers Mark bourbon pecan pie that is top notch 😉 7th generation Mississippian bourbon baker sending love to you and yours ❤
I'm impressed how you speak about your grand-grandma because I know practically nothing about people older than my grandmas and grandpas, leave alone about what they cooked etc.
I loved this video but miss the bubbly, excitement Erin always brings in her videos. She has always had such an amazing way to inspire love for baking. She was so different in this video. She didn’t seem her true self! She has an amazing, inspiring personality that should be able to shine through in each video as all her other videos in the past. Don’t change for anyone Erin!!! We love you!
Erin you are the best. I love everything you do. You've got the greatest enthusiasm for baking. A smile and charm that lights up the world. Thank you for being the perfect you
I love the new style of your video, not to mention your new kitchen! Very soothing, comforting and makes me want to jump into the kitchen and start baking! I was actually going to make cinnamon rolls for Mother’s Day and this has inspired me to make your version! Thank you Erin for inspiring us to always want to do more and to keep the feeling of family an important role in our lives.
Erin… Love watching and learning your fantastic recipes! I began my passion for baking when I made cinnamon rolls from my grandma…So many great memories and ties to your family through baking and the love ❤ you share through it!😍.. Thank you for keeping that alive!
Love your video Erin! I too come from a baking family. My grandmother and mom made wonderful kuchens, kolache and pies. I haven’t made cinnamon rolls for awhile but these look delicious. I love the addition of melted butter and of course bourbon in the icing! Cant wait to try these!
Thank you! I made this recipe yesterday for my birthday and it turned out brilliantly! Each element was incredible and they were so delicious everyone made rude noises when they bit into them. Huge success for my first ever attempt baking cinnamon rolls! I don't have a stand mixer so I kneaded by hand for about ten minutes. Bit tricky because the dough is quite sticky but still doable. Will definitely make again! 💜
That's really lovely, speaking to your beloved family members in making this recipe. The mixed drink looks and sounds good enough to have me thinking of trying it. But the cinnamon rolls are the stars of the show, and worthy of an Oscar! I will try this recipe! And, drum roll please...finally know what that tattoo on Erin's forearm is, a vanilla bean!
This video is so informative, easy to follow, and interesting too! You make me want to dive right into baking these even though I always shy away from any recipes with yeast, rising, etc. You also had me at Maker's Mark!! Your family baking history is so nice and your brother's drawings are so special!! Your kitchen is beautiful!!
Oh gosh, I've been watching you since your very first recipes and I've just noticed that you've got a VANILLA FREAKING BEAN LOVELY TATTOO on your arm! 😍 Looks like my next life goal to get a similar one!!
These sound wonderful! I have to try this recipe. I will make one adjustment and that will be to use Mace instead of nutmeg. Mace is so much like nutmeg but just has a milder flavor of the spice. I like nutmeg but love Mace.
Erin, I’m always awed by how generous you are with your tips and guidance. Thank you for this lovely recipe! A quick question: can I knead this dough by hand?
I was actually drinking a boulevardier when I clicked on this video. And, yes, 3-2-2 is the perfect ratio of bourbon to Campari to Italian vermouth for the perfect boulevardier. (I usually do a cream cheese frosting for my homemade cinnamon rolls, but I'm intrigued to try this bourbon reduction for the icing which, when cooking for me me and only me, needs to be on the thick side.)
Can i freeze them before baking and when desired brush them with buttermilk , sprinke demarara suger and bake them to be eaten fresh whenever i want?
I'm going to be feeding my sister as she is breastfeeding, and so I've already planned on making cinnamon rolls - this recipe may replace my old standby!
Please give us a recommendation for cinnamon. As I understand there are many types. Thinking of Cinnabon smells in a local mall. Also appreciate the addition of nutmeg... family secrets are best.
I see that Erin proofs the yeast in the water inside a metal bowl - I’ve always thought that metal could inhibit the activation of the yeast, is this not true? Or is this okay sometimes? I’d love any responses to this question if anyone has any ideas, I usually do that step separately in a glass bowl so it would save time not to have to do this step. Maybe easy bake is okay in metal but active dry isn’t?
Our home economics teachers was saying that dough should always be rolled horizontally out. That it would be WRONG to roll it like Erin here 😂 It is so wild to say something so strong like that, when it really is up to the person and the recipe. Amazing video again :) Just some random flash back from my educational times.
My go-to ingredient to put into baked goods is citrus zest, usually orange or lemon. I wonder if I could do this with pistachio paste and candied orange peel. Can anyone answer if I would need to add any sugar or other ingredients to the mixture...? Thanks!
Please help! Remember back in the day the school lunches rolls with spaghetti. Really high and dark brown tops, my step dad mom made them homemade for us in the past. I have tried many recipes and they aren’t the rolls. Can anyone help me. My family misses them at the holidays.
Soft butter alone easier to spread on dough- then sprinkle br sugar and cinnoman. Why do so many people insist of spreading- which is impossible on a tender dough.
Why is the recipe on food52 different than what you were explaining here? Drastically different actually! Four eggs versus one? Huge amounts of flour, and missing ingredients altogether, including the dry milk.

Does your family pass down recipe cards, favorite family cookbooks, et cetera? Ask your family members about them.
My wife made these this morning, and they are sooooo good. Fluffiest cinnamon roll ever!
I enjoyed the style and cadence of this video. And of course, your new kitchen is gorgeous!
OMGOODNESS . This is a notch above. I made these for my physical therapy department at work. They ALL asked for the recipe, influx coming. DEELISH ❤❤
Love your sharing of your food memories, Erin! Thank you for another authentic video and wonderful recipe ❤️❤️❤️

Wow Makers mark icing. Sounds great. Wonderful video Erin. Thanks xo
Bourbon cocktail and cinnamon rolls??? True decadence. Yum. Nutmeg swirl, caramelized warm spice, complex vanilla notes YUM.

Gives the term Day Drinking a whole new meaning. 😊
My heart feels good watching you bake.

You are just amazing!! Love watching all the masterpieces you create!
Erin I love watching your videos. You make baking look so easy.
Yummy! And so exciting to see your new kitchen, it looks beautiful!

Your an amazing teacher
I learn so much from you thank you❤
I could almost smell them through the laptop! Thank you for the video!
Thank Erin❤, going to make these for Mother's Day.
Channeling Penny in this one! Thank you for this recipe and pairing!
Erin: I dont drink in the morning.
Food 52: OK, just make sure you mix a drink and tell us how much you love it.
Looks like an amazingly fluffy dough. I’m making these for mother’s day
I will be making these for Christmas this year thank you ❤
The recipe asks for different measurements than you used, Erin (the flour and yeast and perhaps others... ). Thank you for all your great advice !!!
terrific host, great explanations
love Erin!!!
Oh gosh, I've been watching you since your very first recipes and I've just noticed that you've got a VANILLA FREAKING BEAN LOVELY TATTOO on your arm! 😍 Looks like my next life goal to get a similar one!!
I'd love to see more family recipes!

I just love your videos! Your descriptive language is fantastic and makes me feel like I’m baking and tasting with you. Yum!
That looks lush!
Erin, I’m always awed by how generous you are with your tips and guidance. Thank you for this lovely recipe!
A quick question: can I knead this dough by hand?
Thank you for this! Yes, passed down recipes are such an important part of life!
So soft and pillowy and gooey
I’ll probably never make this but I loved watching you do it

Got to make your recipe thank you❤
Love the story with this! EJM is the best!
Nice new kitchen!
Mouthwatering!❤
Great video enjoyed very much
Where do you source your vanilla beans? They look so plump. The ones I have gotten in the grocery store are skinny and I don't get much out of them.
So yummy in my tummy !❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can i freeze them before baking and when desired brush them with buttermilk , sprinke demarara suger and bake them to be eaten fresh whenever i want?

Do you have a cream cheese topping for your cinnamon rolls too?
SPECTACULAR
If a cinnamon roll recipe doesn't call for bread flour I pass it by. A cinnamon roll should have some "tooth" to it. This looks like a good one.
I see that Erin proofs the yeast in the water inside a metal bowl - I’ve always thought that metal could inhibit the activation of the yeast, is this not true? Or is this okay sometimes?

❤❤❤
Is it 10x confectioner's sugar that has less of the raw taste?
Brilliant
Erin, how about sending some to California so we can see how will they ship.
My go-to ingredient to put into baked goods is citrus zest, usually orange or lemon.
I wonder if I could do this with pistachio paste and candied orange peel. Can anyone answer if I would need to add any sugar or other ingredients to the mixture...? Thanks!
Why do some people put milk or cream in their cinnamon rolls before baking?
Please help! Remember back in the day the school lunches rolls with spaghetti. Really high and dark brown tops, my step dad mom made them homemade for us in the past. I have tried many recipes and they aren’t the rolls. Can anyone help me. My family misses them at the holidays.

Recipe please ?
they need to rethink these collaborations/ sponsorships. i’m not sure there is anyone who thinks makers mark is a natural paring for cinnamon rolls.
YUM1❤
I just use the tangzhong method to make my cinnamon rolls and I kid you not they’re better than Cinnabon rolls
Why is the recipe on food52 different than what you were explaining here? Drastically different actually! Four eggs versus one? Huge amounts of flour, and missing ingredients altogether, including the dry milk.
Your filling needed some more butter tbh
Talks too much
She’s teaching. I think she’s lovely.
