We need more baking recipes from Alison! I almost forgot that you used to work as a pastry chef back in the day at Milk Bar! Wanted to try this recipe for so long, caught up with life as we all do, and i feel like i wanna bake these cinnamon rolls this weekend and eat everything by myself because clearly that’s what i need right now. Trays of cinnamon rolls to be eaten by moi.
I never knew I needed Alison in my life until after I made the eggplant parm, creamy cauliflower pasta and the lemon chicken with dates. Then I knew. Oh yeah, I knew. Oh, nothing fancy came in the mail yesterday. That’s how much I love Alison Roman.
I did the ziti, the eggplant Parmesan, and the artichoke and chicken thigh recipes three weekends in a row and my mother complimented my cooking every. single. time. If you knew my mama, you would know what a big deal this is 😂😂😂
The last cinnamon roll recipe I followed started with coating the pan with 2 sticks of butter. Love your take on these and I agree that the lack of gobs of frosting is wonderful!

I made these the minute the newsletter came out. Made a whole batch in one. They were gone within two days. The maple syrup brown sugar cinnamon toffee it makes is unholy on your teeth and does make it harden up but it is sensational. A quick 30 seconds in the microwave to reheat and shove in your gob and I genuinely couldn't believe I'd made something that tasted THAT good.
As someone who would just eat Maple Syrup if my doctor didn't use such negative language about it I approve this recipe. Definitely going to try this. Loving these videos. Keep em coming.

Can you do a video on the tiramisu? I tried to make this from the cook book (tiramisu is my fav dessert) but my marscapone turned into butter and it was a total flop. I’m assuming I over whipped it? Went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out if it should have been cold or room temperature, and the cooking gods NEVER explain...so would love to see how you do it. Hi Alison, I do not own a stand mixer and will be making the dough by hand. How long should I knead it for? Do I add the eggs and butter gradually? Or can I add them all at once to the bowl before turning out onto the counter?
just discovered this channel yesterday and im loving it so far! definitely going to try out some of these recipes and check out Alison's cookbooks as well ❤
Trust me, these are perfect as are and would be too much with icing anyhow. I made them with a teaspoon of cardamom in the dough and another in the filling. SO GOOD. Stand mixer's dough hook was MIA so I kneaded by hand which is a touch laborious but very doable.

If last week’s eggplant recipe makes it into your next cookbook (probably will, it looks divine 🖤) you should take the time to school your readers on the difference between eggplant parmesan and eggplant parmigiana. I learned the sad way when I was too lazy to cook your recipe and ordered in eggplant parmigiana, Hoping & Expecting eggplant parmesan. The two are relatives who basically never see each other except at like funerals
Ok, so! I don’t have a kitchen aid mixer and have already attempted these by hand. They didn’t rise enough, but tasted amazing anyway. Going to try again! I thought I remembered reading in the newsletter recipe to add melted butter instead of room temp if mixing by hand. But now I wonder if I made that up? Is this correct?

Is there any way once you assemble the rolls and set them in the tins to allow them to proof for longer than 1/1.5 hours? I want to make these first thing in the morning but want to avoid assembling at 6am just to be fully done by 8. AKA can they proof assembled overnight maybe?

@@alisoneroman yes! I used a hand mixer just to incorporate the eggs and I also melted the butter (like you recommended). It took a fair amount of hand kneading but it was lowkey relaxing lol
