The quality of your work is impressive for just an ordinary gear head. The equipment you have to work with today makes the work so much better. Back in the 50's when I was working on hot rods it was oxy /acetylene and a large hammer. Good luck with your project.
Great movement forward. I have a 303 Olds with #10 1956 heads. when we made the headers we split the center port into two, so it now has 4 ports. Would look great with zoomies.
I looked for a 56 324 to build the car with. Or even a set of 10 heads but couldn’t find any. So I’m just using what I’ve got. But it’ll have a solid lift full race cam with adjustable rockers and depending on how things measure out I’m planning to have the heads shaved to bump compression. I ordered everything for my headers the other night. Looking forward to building them.
It’s a game changer. I used it to cut the rumble seat lower pan from the rear of the car today. I’m sitting down at the bottom of the rear axle now. Perfecto 👌🏼
WOW - making lots of progress- your my #1 hot rod y- tube - no bull crap etc just how to get everything done for garage builders - Suddenly it’s the late 50’s early 60’s - thanks - looking forward to first drive

Hey Mike It's pronounced "Templit" Not Template. I used to sit at a granite surface plate back in the '70s out of High School & laid out Forge dies from Lead or plaster cast Against blueprint checks. Critical Safety Components for TRW Moog & ALL the Chrysler K car tie rod end components. The Ol' Die Sinkers way back then used the word "Templits" don't let the Young guys -- Steer You Wrong. lol Great fabrication Skills in this series Enjoying it very much. Keep Pushin' On.
Mike you have nailed it. With the flex in the chassis and a bumpy track I think your right with the wishbone mounts. Probably a little more clearance would be good. Did Pete repair, replace the gearbox in the dragster. I think you should have a name on this dragster.Animal comes to mind. Take care best wishes.
He hasn’t yet. But it’ll be fixed when the race in Maine rolls around They lifted up a little after I added the two front leafs into the front spring. I’m not going to know the final height until the weight of the body is on the chassis. But things are looking awesome !! Thanks for the kind words and following along as always. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
To get the quarters to clear and since you want to lower the seat also. You can remove the back panel from the body which will give you room to lower the seat and allow you to “pinch” the quarters in by simply taking a few inches out of the middle of the body , top of the body opening of the former cab if that makes sense? That way you are only working one spot instead of both quarters. I think it looks great !
@ThisOldHotrod he and my grandfather ran the only gas station and junkyard in Rochester, Jack Wilson 's Shell Station. I used to see the hot rods from the surrounding towns come in on Saturdays to pick parts. My best memories as a kid.

that's looking awesome! with the body structure gutted it might be a good idea to keep it in pieces like it is so you only have to remove sections to service the car. i may have missed it but what's the wheelbase?
I’m not really sure how I’m going to go about the body yet. I do want to make the doors removable. For easy access to the motor and trans. The cowl and rear will certainly be mounted to the chassis, but will be removable if needed. Wheelbase is 99”
@@stuartclifton7395 it’s going to be double plated and triangulated into the roll bar. The stands are temporary. I just needed to set it in place to get the driveline in. As soon as I have the body placed and I know where everything will be located. I can get the roll at hoops bent up.
Not running wheel spacers and these wheels are already reversed. I’m going to norrow the body a few inces in the back to make it work without cutting the quarters.
@ could section the entire body. If you insist on sitting in the trunk. Still think you should sit on the trans regardless, Would also take care of the cowl to grill misalignment on the sides. Run the steering between the carbs.
