James sounds as absolutely PERFECT now as he did over 40 years ago. And that's not something to take lightly - it's a total blessing. I was a troubled (undiagnosed autistic) 15 year old when this song dominated UK radio. Not much moved me - except this. As I approach 60, with most of my life behind me and with a new sense of myself, it's fitting that 'my old friend' has changed along with me. Thanks for being a significant part of a little person's life 😊
I still play the 1980 album Dumb Waiters. Still waiting for the Korgis to be huge. They deserve it. They are legends. The outro strings on the album version for this song are magic. Love this version too.
Originally, this track is cult and timeless. It's a track that has always touched me a lot and marked me since my youth and still now, in the good sense of the word, of course. The symphonic version is even more captivating, with so British brass arrangements at the end. Spectacular !!! Thank you very much for your sharing, Mister . :)
Wow! I heard this piece of art for the first time today on BBC, love at first sound, can't stop listening to it, it's been on repeat for hours now!❤❤❤ Very emotional and absolutely magical!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This song is, without doubt, the most incredibly haunting song of all time. I used to play it over and over when I was a very mixed up 15 year old. I used to keep thinking, that there had to be lessons to be learned. At 59 I have learned them, but it took me sometime. Your words are the inspiration for my book Destination Happy. Thank you for writing something so beautiful for the people who 'feel music.' Beth x
Thanks for all your support always Richard. The forthcoming albums are sounding pretty damn good as well. Christmas pre-release for UN-United Nations: Blue and Red
Just re-discovered this immortal masterpiece (at the same level of 10cc I'm not in love and and A salty dog from Procol Harum) now I've discovered this great version. Greetings from Italy.
