Actually, this kinda hit home... I scared the sh_t outta my wife by passing out. After 3 days without sleep (due to an inability to sleep during the day, and having to cover two overnight security shifts), i got home, sat on the sofa, took off one shoe... And woke up laying on the sofa, in full uniform minus a shoe, covered with a blanket, and my wife watching me like a hawk. I was out for *6 hours* and she *could not* wake me. Shaking, yelling, cold water to the face.... Nothing worked.

That's because i once told her how i passed out during a marathon gaming session (i was playing Resident Evil 4, was at a critical point, and the next thing i knew, the screen said "You Are Dead" and it was after 12pm! 😂). She already knew how long i'd gone without sleep, so she just kept a *very* close eye on me. She *did* tell me that if i'd gone more than eight hours without waking, she *would* have called them.
Oof, be careful, OP. If something like that happens when you're driving home from your shift it could be catastrophic. My mom once fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the oncoming lanes and crashed into a farmers' field on the way home from work. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The farmer was just pissed about some damaged corn, lol. My mom quit that job soon after. The commute was just too long after working a long shift. Stay safe and well. ❤️

Before we got married, my wife was on her way home from visiting me when she was rear-ended by an old lady who fell asleep behind the wheel of a smart-car. According to the police report, the cop that witnessed it estimated the speed at impact to be nearly 100 mph. My wife was stopped, waiting to make a turn. The impact sent my wife into oncoming traffic, where she was hit by a pickup truck. My wife, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, suffered a Stage-4 concussion with blood on the brain. The cop said she's lucky she wasn't wearing a seat belt, otherwise her legs would have been crushed or severed: her head hit the windshield, triggering convulsions. The convulsions pulled her feet out of the pedal area, which was then compressed by the dashboard and engine. The floor-mountef gearshift was actually pushed upward into the dash panel. She survived, but she's definitely different. I still blame myself... She was on her way home from my house when it happened. It was around 2pm when it happened, and by the time i wad contacted around 5pm, i was already at work and couldn't leave until a replacement guard arrived, which wasn't until 11pm.
