I couldn't have said it better Geno will do anything to win with all them 5 star players LMAO. Iowa coaching staff and Clark carried their 2 and 3 star players to back to back championship games against 4 and 5 star players. They knocked out the defending Chip winner's from the year before out of the tournament. That's a lot more impressive than winning with the best player's like they should have. That's why the top 3 center in the country signed with Iowa along with Lucy Olsen. It makes me laugh when the alphabet players who went to UCON say Clark can't be recognized as one of the best to play college. Pretty easy to say when you went to a blue blood school 🤣

I’m just gonna say because people won’t. Paige won’t get nearly as much hate as CC because yea she’s white but not Caitlin white. (Espys speech) and she’s part of the lgbtq community. Idk juju orientation but she’s melanin. So even if neither come close to breaking CCs records, best believe the W will hype them up like they did.

Paige will be treated better than CC, but the big factor will be that Paige is from UCONN, and UCONN has an overarching influence on the WNBA. It’s like trying to get a job at a company where all the top brass came from a particular fraternity or sorority. If you also came from that frat or sorority, you’ll not only get the job, but be treated better, get promoted faster, etc. There’s a false narrative amongst some of CC’s fans that the WNBA is nothing but anti-white, lesbian liberals who hate on CC because she’s white, straight, and from Iowa. And while I do think some, like Swoopes, does have an agenda against CC that does pertain to the color of her skin, the majority of the WNBA is still straight, a lot of big, respected players both past & present are white (Taurasi, Lobo, Sue Bird, Della Donne, Ionescu, Plum, etc.), and despite being from Iowa, CC is a liberal whose views align with the majority of WNBA players. So it’s all just jealous, rookie hazing turned up to 11 because of CC’s notoriety coming in.

For me, it’s more fun to watch a player do more athletically. Or to be amazed at a player like Paige who plays all parts of the game so well. 53% fg, 42% from 3. A floater, a midrange game, very good defense, can rebound and score in a clogged paint. She had to play the 4 last year and still averaged 4 assists a game. She’s an excellent passer as well.

I’ve been a huge Paige B fan since she was a junior in h.s., ever since I saw a RUclips video highlighting her play. I followed her career through the 2024 season, but then I started hearing rumblings about this Caitlin Clark gal and I actually intentionally ignored watching videos about CC because I didn’t want someone else to outshine Paige B. Fortunately, halfway through the 2024 season, I saw CC play and I immediately was awed by this phenom. I became an instant fan of CC’s, but was still enjoying watching Paige. However, CC was so exciting to watch, even more so than Paige (I still love your game, Paige, but those 3-pointers and those incredible passes are unmatched, even better than Paige’s game). I saw in CC a skill set like no other in college basketball, men or women. Paige got me interested in women’s college basketball like I’d never been before, even more so than in seasons when the Lady Longhorns, my alma mater, were in the top ten. Prior to 2024, I’d never watched a WNBA game, other than some highlights, but CC changed all that, and I watched EVERY Iowa game since mid-season, 2024, I watched the women’s games in the NCAA tournament that involved CC and Paige (and the Longhorns), and I’ve watched EVERY WNBA game involving CC. I have not been this obsessed by an athlete since I saw Tiger Woods play in his third U.S. Amateur Championship and then I watched every tournament that Tiger played for most of his career. Caitlin is that generational kind of player that Tiger Woods was. Paige is great. Juju looks like she will be great. However, CC continues to show why Iowa made two NCAA Championship games when their prior years’ history was mediocre, at best. Once her Fever teammates learned to catch 80’ passes (and finish) and Coach Sides figured out how to best use CC, then the Fever started having much more success. CC did indeed make her teammates better. The Fever need another very good forward to be able to compete with the likes of Napheesa and A’ja (and their supporting teammates) but with CC, AB, and Kelsey M, those three will only get better in coming years. But CC is the linchpin. I wouldn’t know about A’ja, or Napheesa, or Sabrina, or Kelsey Plum., etc, if it weren’t for CC. I never even heard of Kelsey Plum until 2024, and never saw her play until the Aces played the Fever. So, if Paige and Juju join the CC Fan Club, their greatness will be even more appreciated. But if they join the haters, then they will lose many fans who love CC’s game.

And as all the new blood from the future drafts come in there's going to be a sea change in how the game is played. Let's be honest, Caitlin Clark is targeted for the culture she comes from... traditional, civilly responsible, and Christian values. Then she didn't take a knee to the woke-wbb bully crowd. Paige has given lip service to them, JuJu has already said that some of her heroes are a part of the bully Club, not Clark.
Also, part of the culture, coming from Iowa, you have the strongest amateur and youth support anywhere. UConn is a part of the NCAA Monopoly and people don't cheer for monopolies and UConn fans just look to the next crop of five stars so they can cheer for a front-runner. If Paige had gone to Minnesota now, that would have been incredible and in parallel to Clark in Iowa, but not quite. Los Angelians don't care that much except for their main pro sports teams and USC can't even sell out, she won't have the huge fan following into the WNBA.
The media will be pumping up these two, but you're not going to see caravans of parents bringing their kids 500 miles to watch them play.
Then there impact on the court, Caitlin Clark is the Michael Jordan of college basketball, she's on her way to being this for the pros...and we always heard about the "next Michael Jordan", no one will be Her.

Both Juju and Paige are very good players. When I have watched them, it appears that both have elite scoring ability and clearly make their teams better.
However, CC is much more than a scorer. In her freshman year at Iowa it was clear she was both an elite scorer and passer. She did what only one other player in the history of college basketball ever did, and she did it twice! She led the nation in scoring and assists in the same season. She makes everyone around her much better. She is also hyper focused on winning, regardless of the role she needs to take to get her team the W. I don’t believe I have ever seen her say anything negative about an opposing player or team. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, she goes out of her way to engage with her fans. She comes out after the game and signs autographs for a good bit of time after the games are over.
While Juju and Paige are very good, possibly great players, neither of them has shown yet that they have the whole package that CC brings to the game. It will be fun to watch and see if they can grow into it. Hopefully they will have the support that CC has to help them manage the pressure and expectations.

While race and sexuality amplified hatred towards CC, the catalyst for CC to be hated as she was this season is how she performed on the court.
I don't think CC would have gotten (as) much hate among the league if she wasn't dominant on the court; you only need to look at Li Yueru and Han Xu. Sorry, but JuJu isnt close to CC at anything. Girl is incredibly inefficient and not a good playmaker. 40%/32%/85% taking well over 22 shots a game while averaging just 3.3 assists... So she can put up as many shots as she can and want, cause the legacy University Mafia have deemed her to break CC's all time scoring record. Efficiency and team play be dammed. You all remember that Swoops comment about CC taking 40 shots? Thats what JuJu will do as long as her PPG average is higher then CC's in college.
Thats why there is no backlash to anything. As long as the "Star of the League" is either a USC or UConn player and hopefully either black or gay, everything is fine. Juju is black and a USC player... if she is also gay, she is 100% perfect! Either way she will be more then fine coming into the league. No backlash whatsoever. Quite the opposite. EVERYBODY AND THEIR MUMS will praise her. All the former players in mainstream Media, all the current "stars" like A'Ja, Collier, Stewart and so on, all the coaches... even CC will. Cause CC is just a nice person. She roots for everyone and wants the best for everyone, no matter how they treat her.
And if it comes to Nike itself. I wouldnt be suprised if JuJu gets her own shoe before CC, even at college. The reason is hopefully clear for anyone who isnt blinded by the woke agenda. They signed CC to have her off the market. As far as I know the deal with CC means that Nike has to produce ONE SHOE over the runtime... means they can push out a random CC1 in 9 years and the contract would be fulfilled. They never had real interest in pushing Clark, just to keep her away from Adidas, Under Amour aso...

That is not normal for any rookie in the wnba especially a guard but because of the crazy expectations people don't even realize how historic Caitlin's season was. I think Paige will be a great player at the pro level but she is not as versatile as Caitlin offensively. Caitlin is an elite scorer and playmaker which the wnba has never seen before, she was the first player to be top 10 in points while leading the league in assists. For right now juju is an elite scorer and that's it she is not a playmaker at all. It will be interesting to see if her playmaking improves now that she has Kiki ifaren on her team. Clark wouldn't be the player she is or as good if she played for Geno's UCON Huskies. Geno is the only person that can and probably will hold Bueckers back while in college! The Coach for USC already talked with the Iowa Coaches about how they handled Clark. Clark even talks with JuJu on how she handled things on and off the court! That is awesome and hard not to let ego's control a player. I am team Clark and JuJu all the way

If Paige gets a Nike shoe before CC, CC fans will revolt. That would be so wrong. CC should be first....Or, if Nike wants to release both shoes at the same time and prop up a rivalry as Magic/Bird did in their commercials back in the day...that would be cool. Then add JuJu into the mix when she moves to the W. That would be awesome.
And, I think Nike should back away a bit from A'ja...nobody cares.

But CC has said such a high standard, but it's going to be difficult for the women to match. It'll be a "close, but no cigar" kind of thing. I don't think either player will Garner the fan base nor the marketability that Caitlin has set apart all to herself. The question will be this one: well they Garner the attendance and viewership numbers that Caitlin received? Will they grow the NBA exponentially, like Caitlin, or merely incrementally, like before CC.

Clark is unique. Her play was studied by what the men did more than the women. She is a woman, at present, with a mindset of Curry, Bird, Jordan, and a few more. What she did best in doing was what she practiced doing to her best ability. She knew having to make baskets, assists, and getting the long rebounds. From there she went to the short layups, rebounds a few feet from the basket, and a steal. Maybe block a shot. What she lacks is what I have not understood yet would be the same vison on defense as her offense. She has problems on her angles, quickness, footing, jumps and understanding about defense. Lucky for her most all the WNBA is not great with their defense. Though women college basketball players are good on defense. I state any of the top 10 college women teams can beat most or any of the WNBA teams. CC22 had Iowa players play better than normal for them being how they made the playoffs on to the championships. This was seen with the Fever players. I would have to watch a few games of Paige and Juju play seeing they can help any WNBA team.

Ha! Not likely. The old guard, as you put it, is two thirds of the league. They're not going anywhere anytime soon. I think it's more likely that maybe half of that two thirds will get with the new program (probably kicking and screaming the whole way) but they'll realize that there's a new order in town and if they want to succeed they're going to have to suck it up and get along. Of the rest they're going to have their blinders on and continue to do their obstinate best to keep to their tried and true. Unfortunately each year will find them further and further from the action and the new guard and the old guard who are supporting the new deal will eventually freeze them out, and they'll be relegated to sitting on the bench with 10 minutes playing time. Too bad, how sad.

Possibly to Caitlin's relief, Paige will likely be the center of media attention when she gets to the W and may not face anything like the level of hostility Caitlin has faced. Even if Paige and Juju surpass Caitlin in the stats, Caitlin is the pioneer who's clearing the way for new generation. That said, as with many Caitlin fans, I'd love to see her leave the dysfunctional W and make her career abroad. Take Aliyah, Lexie, Kelsey and the whole Fever lineup with her.

PB stayed so that she could play ball with her bestie Azzi Fudd. So PB will be drafted over 22 years old [23-24?] and that will be an issue. Juju still has two years to grow, so we will have to wait on that, but I think she is not as flashy [as CC22]. PB has some flash to her, but in my opinion, she struggles to take the load [when the game rides on her, she cannot step up and score 30-35 points, she doesn't have it].

They are both really talented players. Unfortunately, there is only one Caitlin Clark. I think Coach Bluder did a really good with Caitlin. She saw she was a generational talent, and fitted her team around Caitlin's strengths. If Geno would have even bothered to recruit Caitlin, who knows where she might be now. Look at Paige, I think her talents are being under used. The last home game Juju played in had under 5000 people in the stands.
