Ep 11: Finding Katrina, Chapter One w/ Ron Bamieh

The disappearance of Katrina Montgomery is one of the more haunting cases in Ventura County’s history. Katrina was 20 years old in 1992 when she attended a party on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and was never seen or heard from again. In this series of episodes, attorney Ron Bamieh tells the story of how, in 1997, five years after Katrina’s disappearance, he began investigating the case as an ambitious young prosecutor working in the Ventura County District Attorney’s office. The ensuing investigation took Ron and his partners into a dark world of white supremacist gangs, drug trafficking, and sexual violence, and culminated in a 2001 trial that showcased years of research, interviews, and surveillance to reveal what really happened to Katrina, and who was responsible.
In this opening chapter, Ron explains his shocking initial discoveries (including the LAPD’s initial mishandling of the case), and walks us through the process of zeroing in on three major suspects.
