As native Chinese and English speaker, and previously working with translations. This translator is some of the best I’ve ever heard. Live translation between English and Chinese is so hard. English is more grammar based and Chinese is more context based. The essence or deeper meaning of a sentence can easily get lost in translation. But this translator was so precise with her words in both languages. She’s is also clearly a chess player with her choice of words. Big props!

GM Tan Zhongyi runs a chess club ,is a chess trainer and just comes to candidates and crushes her way to the championship.
Haha seems like plot of old hongkong movies where martial arts teacher just casually comes and beat everyone up and wins the tournament.
Good luck to you GM Tan Zhongyi.

When women candidates are all at least 2650+ players, it would bring audiences and money. Currently, it looks like the only way for that might be to give these GMs as test subjects to Laszlo Polgar to convert them into super GMs.😂

there is no "men" wc title, ding liren is the "world champion" and guki is "world champion challenger" period, ju wenjun is "women world champion", she isn't " world champion" there is a huge difference, since only women have a special category apart from open category. So women wc title isn't universal, whereas ding liren is champion of the world currently. open candidates is the real deal with around 2750 average rating of the field and open to everyone as long as they qualify whereas in "women specific candidates" it's around 2550, only judit polgar in history of chess managed to qualify to open candidates as a women player and how she did it? She never played any women specific candidates or events, her sister was a women wc and judit never won open candidates and qualified only once but only nutheads will say that there is even a comparison possible lol even an open candidate player >>>> women wc and greatest example is that of polgar sisters.

Some people suck at school and that's fine clearly the dude has other talents, but that does not seem to be the case with people originating from China. In japan most people have decent english skills. Those two are not even comparable in this particular matter and you drawing the comparison between them is actually quite racist, but I expect no less from an american.

@@villepalmu348 Look at my last name and does that ring a bell, my dear racist? I was asking the question because when Ohtani was using a translator, no one seems to be curious about his English skill, as it was from the beginning not the point when one is a top tier player in baseball. Now, when Tan Zhongyi, a former Women’s Chess Champion, is using a translator, someone has to ask that kind of rude question with a clear hostility. And you call me a racist? Go play with yourself my dear sir.
