While watching this video, I started looking at my copy of Fit for Knits and it was the first book you took from your shelf! I have watched most of Johanna"s videos. I'm sewing a "first attempt" at her Gurli Top in a black floral print today. I'm retired, so I don't follow a dress code, but I have at least six black-based sewing projects cut out, and decided to work on them as a group, so the serger can be threaded in black for all. Your dress looks lovely on you, and comfortable, too. Thank you for your videos...they are relaxing!
Thanks so much Valerie! We're definitely on the same wavelength! So glad you're enjoying the videos. Isn't it great when you can set up your machine to batch sew in one color- it saves so much time. Hope you're having a great weekend- have fun sewing!
Ask me anything… How long have you been sewing? What is your favorite garment you’ve made? Thanks for the video! I didn’t know that Johanna (sp?) has a podcast. I need to check that out!
Hi Rebecca, I've been wondering how you make your self drafted patterns and what adjustments you make for bought patterns? I'm hoping to tackle making trousers like your pink ones next year (sorry I can't remember the pattern) so I'd love to hear about any resources you use for sewing pants and deciding how to alter them for a better fit. Thank you! I hope the work wardrobe sewing is going well. Cheers, Chris.
Thanks so much Chris! I’m going to add that question to my Ask me anything so I can go more in depth! The pink pants are self drafted using my pant sloper. Here’s the blog link where I talk about them: sewpomona.com/what-i-wore-on-vacation-nyc-girls-trip/ Happy sewing!

Fantastic! Looking forward to hearing more and reading about them on the blog 😊
Just curious if you have a coverstitch machine and if so, which one, and do you like it? Thank you!
I do have a coverstitch machine. It’s the Brother 2340CV. It works fine and was relatively inexpensive but I do want to upgrade it to a nicer one.
