Billy Ocean is just fantastic. There is a live version of this where he is a much older man -- maybe even more beautiful. What I love about this song is how simple the song is and how personal it is without being emotionally manipulative. 100 years from now people will still be listening to this song.

I agree, Mary. I've enjoyed Billy Ocean's music since discovering it in the 80's, from the fun stuff in movies like "Jewel of the Nile", to "Get Out of My Dreams" to this one. He covers all the bases. It's harder to listen to this one since I lost my wife to Covid back in January of 2021. This song reminds me of the wonderful and perfect love we had. Now I've had it said to me, as if to remind me of real life, that my sweetheart was not perfect. She was a human being like the rest of us. My answer to that is simple: she wasn't a perfect woman, but she WAS perfect for me.

Billy is an absolute GOAT. I saw him live a few years ago, well into his 70's and still nailing it. Red Light Spells Danger has always been one of my top 3 all time favourite songs from the 1970's disco era. Loverboy from the 1980's. Class act.

When the Going Gets Tough, is another great upbeat song by him as well. It was from the soundtrack to a great movie called Jewel of the Nile, a sequel to Romancing the Stone. Both of those would be great for your movie reaction channel as well. Either way check them out.

Billy is best known for his smooth love songs, but I hope you give "Loverboy" a listen at some point. It may be his most up-tempo song. And the video is bonkers cool!!
The chord progressions and key changes have always made this song special. "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles and "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal are two other great ones with similar changes.
Billy’s voice has this full quality, strong, and yet soft and buttery smooth and with a little sandpaper, and yet powerful. I love to listen to his voice and this is such a beautiful song. He has a string of hits in the 80s and he’s still seeing today. ♥️‼️

Billy recently did a more acoustic version of this song - and it is SO beautiful. Worth checking out on your own time. Can you please do Loverboy next? It's a more upbeat song - and my personal fave. Also the video for When the Going Gets Tough - the Tough Get Going is a must watch. The song is from the Jewel of the Nile movie - and the video features Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny Devito as his backup dancers. It's SO much fun to watch - and the song is fantastic.
