Someone told me this is timed and it has something to do with noise. Where you align that mark, I have no idea

Takes some time but anyone can get it done
You still have to have the chain on the right links. Meaning, the cam to crank gears. I'm guessing that the chain has to be taunt on the driver's side of the gears

I CANT GET TOP DEAD CENTER LINED UP WITH THE HOLE ON THE CAMSHAFT LINED UP .
ITS ABOUT HALF THE HOLE OUT .
IF I CHANGE ONE TOOTH ON THE SPROCKET THEN IM HALF A HOLE OUT THE OTHER WAY.
OR 5 degre on the crank pully .
so my problem is should i be 5 degre advanced or 5 degre retarded?

hello im installing a new head on my 2.7 647 sprinter 2005. i noticed that some of the new lifters are different in regards that some you can squeeze some of them but others are hard to squeeze. should i install them like that???. thanks Mario.
Can you do timing marks for iveco daily 2005 3.0 l engine . Alternative ly fiat ducato promaster 3.0 l ( 2004.) Engines are the same, or similar. ( Has twin cam)
Hi i have the 2.2 cdi ,i have just had head off and replaced it .i could not lock timing when i took head off as there was foreighn object stuck in one of the bores ,any way item removed and head put back i have tried to alighn timing chain with top dead center however i can not see any marks on the crank pulley so i am having trouble getting the chain in the right position especially when tensioner is not yet set .will i have to remove crank pulley to see where the woodruff key is ?

My injacor was linking and i was i trying to change the bolt in sealwatcher and a white dude told me that he knew about those motor and he took the head off and i took the head to the machine shop he put it together and told me that one of the motor bolt broke on the block and that makes me wonder because the van has a blowby that gose trough the moneyfol and it goes trough the oil sprater and it injaced to the turbo and that the problem and ot smoke like a train but white smoke and i wonder that the way to get a check from the city for killing all the mosquito around the neighbor haha and the oil come trough the oil measurment stick and it seem that no one know anything in new Orleans and any tips could help maybe i could sent you a video but not today causes it 25 degress

Great video. I used your vid with a couple others to replace the cylinder head. But after putting everything back together, the engine had a hard time starting. And once it did, it was running very ruff, started having a clinking sound. The cylinder head was brand new. Any idea on what it could be? New valves. There’s some things that im trying to figure out if they were the cause:
1. When we were setting the engine to TDC while taking apart we cranked the engine in the opposite direction at least one of the times. Found out later that we’re not supposed to do that.
2. The injectors were outside for a month or so, it rained and parts on the shaft got rusty. Maybe the nozzles are blocked?
3. The timing mark, the TDC and the hole on the sprocket was slightly off. A little bit of the hole. But the marks on the shaft aligned.
4. The intermediate gear wasn’t aligned in anyway. But you mentioned not to worry about that one. I didn’t find anything about aligning it either. So I don’t think that is causing the issue.

My sprinter 313 2.0 diesel engine wont start, its just spins on start as if there is no compression. Any ideas? i parked it the night before and it was all good. I would always get a rattle for 4 seconds when i started it previously.
Check for compression,spark and fuel and cross your fingers because those engines cost over 8k to rebuild 😭
Hello I have a situation. I totally forgot to install the timing chain guide rails. The head is installed and torqued. Any ideas on how to install the guides. With out removeing the heads. Och.!!!.

If the timing cover is off ,you might have a chance to slide them in

Olle ermano I just bought a 02 Sprinter and there is a rattling noise coming from the engine and I'm pretty sure it's from the timing chain which need to be replaced it has a hundred and ninety thousand miles can I replace a timing chain without taking the engine out
Yeah you can replace the chain ,you just have to remove the whole front of the van
