Sterile Processing focuses on the cleaning and sterilization of devices used in medical procedures. Instruments pass through areas of decontamination, tray assembly, and sterile storage before delivery to the Operating Rooms (ORs) for use in surgery.
At NSUH legacy hospitals, we support as many as 50 OR Suites and over 100 medical groups, clinics, and procedural areas.
This equates to processing over 6 million instruments per year! It’s critical to patient care that all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for patient procedures when needed.
