    Mullard inside! No more the same amp : instead of the "original" fuzzy sound, now my AC30 VR sings so sweet :)

    Wow that’s an amazing difference in tone, hard to believe it’s the same amp. Thanks for the heads up

    Definatly worth the tube swap. This amp is real loud , i've used it in large venues and haven't maxed it out yet. Valvetrinix 120 os louder but the tone imo is not the same. I have a ronelab st and you can feel the difference in tone. TLST also has Mullards.

    Hey man, did the Mullards make it louder? Thinking about getting one of these and modding.

    Changing tubes is a waste of money since all tubes are made by like, 4 companies in the world. You can get the same effect by adjusting your tone controls.

    Hi, did you try another tube as a 12AU7 or 5751 or 12AT7 ? (it low the volume but it can change the tone, on my ac4tv the amp became bassy with the 12AU7...and i'm not after a big overdrive) I ask it because i'm waiting for a second hand ac15vr...and of course i'll try my tubes... :-)
    Great video that really show the différences, the Mullard make the amp clearer but it seems less bassy...
    Thanks

    Could you post a video of how you opened the amp as i really want to do this but i don't want to do it wrong because i tried to open it the other day but as all goo vox amps should be the amp is glued together before it is screwed together and i don't want to force anything that shouldn't be forced. thanks

    Put '65 Mullard Blackburn 12Ax7 in Fender Super Champ along with a '61 ROLA 10" Alnico and dynamo.

    Valves are just sloted in, doesn't get any easier than that. Is trully an improvement all round. An happy to inform that the microphonics had all to do with my guitar and nothing to do with the AC30vr.

    Good lord dude..to me it sounded waaay better stock than after tube change. leave it stock and learn how to tune your guitar .

    are these amps loud enough, in comparison to an (cheap) 100w solid state?

    Why don't you give swapping out all of your guitar strings for tuned ones a try?

    12ax7B wnt bad in mine. tried mullard...sterile tinny sound. had a 12AU7 lying about and voila....much louder ampwith a better tone than stock tube.
    just try any 12A? tube you can find till you find one that suits you.
    oh...also tried a tung sol 12AX 7...sounded fizzy...too much gain

    valves just slot in do they?

    • @60tbird1
      @60tbird1 6 месяцев назад

      The valve fits in via the pin slots. Easy to do.

    The swap also fixed the microphonic noise issue.

  • @CirineoSocialNet
    @CirineoSocialNet  13 лет назад

    No soldering at all, however sad to report that some microphonic noise is till audible, faint but there non the less

    I have to respectfully disagree. I replaced the stock tube with a Mullard 12AX7, and ended up switching back to the stock tube. The Mullard made the amp sound a bit glassy, and added a very distasteful, unmusical harmonic artifact to all notes and chords. Just my experience.

    Try a JJ 12AT7 you won't regret it (^.-)
