I am a Pashtoon originating from South Waziristan in Pakistan's west. I have my family tree dating back one thousand years. It shows there was no mixing with any other race among my ancestors in that period. A couple of years ago I had a genetic analysis done in the United States. It showed no Semitic gene whatsoever. The only places where people having genes similar to mine live are where people from Central Asia have settled at various times. It is my hunch that Pashtoons (also called Pathans) are descended from the Parthians who settled in present-day Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran about 2500 years ago. There is no historic or scientific evidence of any Semitic connection whatsoever.

The dominant language along the Silk Road was most likely Sogdian (East Iranian) before Turco-Mongol migration. I have no idea whether some Israelites made it to Afghanistan or not. But I do know the Pashtun ethnic history is far older than that of Islamic history. The Pashtun language itself is extremely old and unique. It diverged with Western Iranian languages before the Arab conquest (along with the other Eastern-Iranian languages). Unique social/cultural codes is quite interesting. If that cultural trait is coming from Indo-Aryan, I would presume the people in Eastern Tajikistan, other Iranian minorities in Afghanistan, or Northern India, and even Iran should have something similar.

A very beautifully made video. I'm pathan from Pakistan but never heard of having a Jewish connection from my ancestors. Maybe similar people scattered all over middle east adopted different faiths and lifestyles later on. Finding a piece of information here and there like the stones isn't enough to prove we have a Jewish history. Much more evidence is needed to prove the theory. The fact of the matter is that there is no recorded history or evidence to prove pathan ancestry and with every passing year it is getting more ambiguous.

When Alexander the Great ruled Afganistan and parts of western ancient India region, he brought from southeastern Europe many tribes which settled forever in Afganistan and Western and northern modern Pakistan. These tribes are known today as Pashtuns, Nuristanis, Kalashs, Chitralis, Gilgites, and many other small tribes that live today in northern Pakistan. As an Albanian i have been surprised when i listened for first time the pashtuns speaking and i relised that many pashtun words were similar to my albanian language. Respect from Albania.
First of all Albanian and Pashtuns both belong to IE family of languages which is why it sound similar to your language. Pashtuns, Nuristanis, Kalashs, Chitralis, Gilgites belong to the Eastern IE family while Greeks and Europeans belong to the Western IE family. If these tribes was brought by Alexander then they would be speaking a Western IE language not Eastern which is Indo-Iranian. Another point to consider, Pashtuns are mentioned as Paktas in the Rig Veda. The RV is dated clearly before the bible. So the Pashtuns are historically South Asian.
The main problem that is starting so many arguments in the commentaries, is that, to this day, no one really knows the difference between ethnicity and belief. Specially Jews, they got the two mixed up from the beginning. Also, some of the claims of the documentary are exaggerated to fit their claim. I am Muslim from Spain, recently convert, and I never seen a Jew reciting the Torah in my life, but I also move "rocking my body like a Jew", when reciting Qur'an, is something natural, out of the rythm of the recitation. Yes, Pakhtuns and Kashmiris are of ancient Jewish ancestry that belongs to the twelve tribes. I have been considering the same theory for several years, trying to put evidence together which includes traditions, dress code, place names, and similarities between the religions.. the Israelites were a small selection of the 600,000 that left Egypt. I am a Pashtoon originating from South Waziristan in Pakistan's west. I have my family tree dating back one thousand years. It shows there was no mixing with any other race among my ancestors in that period. A couple of years ago I had a genetic analysis done in the United States. It showed no Semitic gene whatsoever. The only places where people having genes similar to mine live are where people from Central Asia have settled at various times. It is my hunch that Pashtoons (also called Pathans) are descended from the Parthians who settled in present-day Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran about 2500 years ago. There is no historic or scientific evidence of any Semitic connection whatsoever.

The dominant language along the Silk Road was most likely Sogdian (East Iranian) before Turco-Mongol migration.

The Pashtun language itself is extremely old and unique. It diverged with Western Iranian languages before the Arab conquest (along with the other Eastern-Iranian languages). Unique social/cultural codes is quite interesting. If that cultural trait is coming from Indo-Aryan, I would presume the people in Eastern Tajikistan, other Iranian minorities in Afghanistan, or Northern India, and even Iran should have something similar.
Saying "Pashtuns are Jews" is a crap thing to sale, here is how.
You should say that Pashtuns could be those tribes of Bani Israel who migrated here in area of Afghanistan and etc etc.
Genetically, it could be a sign of that but saying they are Jews is completely rubbish.

Pashtuns might be Israelites but not Jews. It is misleading to asscociate Pastuns with Judaism. Not all Israelites are Jews. A very beautifully made video. I'm pathan from Pakistan but never heard of having a Jewish connection from my ancestors. Maybe similar people scattered all over middle east adopted different faiths and lifestyles later on. Finding a piece of information here and there like the stones isn't enough to prove we have a Jewish history. Much more evidence is needed to prove the theory. The fact of the matter is that there is no recorded history or evidence to prove pathan ancestry and with every passing year it is getting more ambiguous.

The main problem that is starting so many arguments in the commentaries, is that, to this day, no one really knows the difference between ethnicity and belief. Specially Jews, they got the two mixed up from the beginning.
Also, some of the claims of the documentary are exaggerated to fit their claim. I am Muslim from Spain, recently convert, and I never seen a Jew reciting the Torah in my life, but I also move "rocking my body like a Jew", when reciting Qur'an, is something natural, out of the rythm of the recitation.

I have been considering the same theory for several years, trying to put evidence together which includes traditions, dress code, place names, and similarities between the religions.. the Israelites were a small selection of the 600,000 that left Egypt. Israelites and Jews are 2 different terms and entity. Israelites were Hebrews and Jews too but Jews were derived from tribe of Judah. In Afghanistan, there were tribes of Lewani(Levi), Yusuf-zai(Sons of Joseph), Rabbani(Reuben) etc. To associate them as descendants of Israelites would required further research and is fair deduction rather than solely as sons of Judah(Jews). In fact, modern Jews ancestry is questionable as they derived from Khazarite European stocks.

The Afghans that I have met are all deeply religious and they are all Muslims who say لا اله الا الله ومحمد الرسول الله and we greet each other with السلام عليكم. And I do not see that ever changing.

Allah completed his message by sending the holy Quran because there will be no prophet after prophet Muhammad saw.... Ibrahim , our forefather and other prophets were all muslim since Adam up until Muhammad.
