Every generation thinks the end is in their lifetime. Dont make the day of judgement your motivation you should be a good worshipper regardless.

And we haven't had the three-year drought yet, imagine that first year and a third of the rain and produce missing, on the second year two thirds of the rainfall and produce missing.
Finally on the third year, no rainfall and no produce.
I call that تَسْبِيح tasbih time.
And then guess who appears? Al Masih ad Dajjal, that's who appears.
All the Prophets (AS) were Warners for this reason, we should have had a generational knowledge of what is to come by now, but for Shaytan.

Allah SWT said:
ذٰلِكَ بِاَ نَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاَ نَّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ لَا مَوْلٰى لَهُمْ
"That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector."
(Quran . Muhammad 47: Verse 11)

The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
“The dunya is cursed. Cursed is all that is in it except for the remembrance of Allah, and that which resembles it, a scholar, and a student (of knowledge).”
[Related by Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, and Bayhaqi. The wording is taken from Shaykh al-Albaanee’s Sahīh at-Targhīb wat-Tarhīb (1/34)]
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ العَظِيم
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azhim' [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The world is the way you see it. Do you see it half full or half empty?
Yes there are sign to be aware of. But if you think about it so much you will always be negative and can’t enjoy life. Some people thrive on negativity.
In the end you will only get a negative picture of Allah and worship only out of fear not love
There is always going to be evil and conflict in this world until the rebellious (shayateen) are subdued and killed. Until then, every human is in a constant battle with temptations. You are a traveller in this world, towards your final destination. May God grant salvation and refuge from the fire on the day of judgement.

Salam my dear brother and all the brothers in umaah. I love to hear the word spoken, in this day and age people of book have become numb to the idea of continuation of miracles. They still continue. My late father when he was young man used to visit a Faqir who served once British naval army during the war times way back before sub continent was divided he asked his senior commander that he needs to leave the ship. The commander refused but in instant this man who was appointed left with body and came in his uniform as seen by people in north east Pakistan. This man was not seen sleeping in one place. So miracles happen with uliya. Only you need to have faith. I agree with your point. We don’t need science and now we need it more in this age of deception. May you have peace of mind.

Are these old lectures of shaykh Hamza Yusuf ?
HY has changed a lot over the years, years before he lectured about Dajjal/ the antichrist, he said the subject about gog and magog/ jajuj and majuj was difficult to speak on, so he didn't spoke and that subject.
HY also spoke about the second coming of Sayyidina Nabie al-Masih 'Isa Ibn Maryam Alayhima wa salaam.
But as I said HY has changed a lot over the years.
