YUP...I remember well....I was 13 and remember hearing them rocking this jawn back in the 80's. I used to imagine myself being old enough to go to the clubs but I never got a chance to jam to this because the music had changed by that time. Lol but I'll always cherish the days and moments from this era when this song was on the hit list.
I remember back in the days in the 80's when clubs were safe and really jumping back then with people that wanted to have a good time, this was one of the jams that was played...
OMG !! I used to go to The Empire …. I remember the DJ ‘s booth was accessible only by climbing that 20 foot iron ladder!! It was 1974…. And I climbed that ladder in heels and a dress lol 😂💜because I was obsessed with a song … the song was Speak Well by Philly USA on WestEnd records …. I still have that record …. And went on to DJ from 1978 to 1980 in Chicago and Toronto !!💃🏻❤🕺🏻‼️
Miss Sanford. My father has told me and my siblings story after story about all those clubs back when he was growing up in the South Bronx. He also tells a story about when his oldest Brother who was my uncle that I never meant because he died before I was born took my father to some club called Studio 54 back in 1978. My father says the club is famous but does not exist anymore. My uncle was a New York City cop. I don't know whether to believe my Dad or not, because many of the stories sound like scenes in a movie. Plus, my dad is a college professor now and doesn't seem like the type who would be at those kind of hangouts. My dad was only 13 at the time. He says other child stars were there that night too that weren't supposed to be there. If I have heard that story once I have heard it 100 times
The incredible bassist Sandy Anderson, coincidently who played the bass in Odyssey's song "Inside Out" that for years I thought was a pseudonym or alias for Mark Adams of Slave. Sandy Anderson died during COVID and I think from the same. May he rest in peace.
Sandy is a badass, but there is no way he played bass on Inside Out...That was definitely Mark Adams. Mark had a distinct, unmatched sound. RIP Mark and Sandy.
@@ghosttheillest Nah dude, it was Sandy Anderson; he told me himself. I too, thought it was Mr. Mark using a pseudonym for years. But keep in mind. Steve Washington (SLAVE: The fearless leader) worked closely refining Mark's sound with Mark in the studio. Steve subsequently mimicked Mark's sound on Aurra's "are you single" and George Clinton's "hey good looking". However, no one can take anything from the "Hansolor", definitely RIP Mark Adams.

Yes, jammin’ to this in 2024, just as I was in 1981!!! The entire LP is tight!!! I Hear Music in the Street, Private Party and the slow jam, Love to Share are best IMO. And after all, it’s on Prelude!!!

Michelle, your young (at the time) sister sure knew great music. This song was a H-I-T. Especially at the parties/clubs/discos/lounges/halls/ undergrounds/palaces/"rooms"/basements/manors/speakeasys/ballrooms/hotels/establishments/skating rinks, etc.
This song is old school. There is always a message in the music, and music is what feelings sound like. Music can change the WORLD! LETS TAKE THE TIME OUT TO LISTEN TO THE INSTURMENTS. The music that we here today has a message, but its not something that we can all relate to. This is coming from Crystal Ross aka POETRYLOVE.
