Node X (for eARC), core 47 (output) and Rythmik LV12m (versatile bass if you just like bass) for the same $5.5k to $6k budget.
Lol. My Yamaha NX-N500 are from the year 2016! I bought them in 2018 for £600. They were originally £1000 or $1100.
And for speakers this old. They are both powered active speakers with a Bi or two amp Class A/B per speaker, 25W, 45W per speaker.
They have Balanced transmission line and signal timing meaning the speakers are connected by RJ45 ethernet for the timing, and XLR for the audio.
13Ccm woofer. Built in Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11N, Ethernet 10/100mbps. DLNA, UPnP, Apple Airplay, Optical SPDIF, Aux out.
These speakers have a XMOS 32 Bit 384KHz USB with DSD 5.6MHz support. DAC is ESS Saber 9010K2M with 32 Bit 384KHz chip also for MQA, DSD 5.6MHz playback support.
Plays AAC, MP3, AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, MQA etc... Speaker playback upto 192KHz 24 Bit audio over streaming services over ethernet. I think also plays back 192 maybe over the WiFi.
But they definitely playback 96KHz 24 Bit over WiFi. So Yamaha's MusicCast is a multicast streaming multi room system.
They playback music streaming services like Jukebox, Napster, Pandora, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, TuneIN Radio, SiriusXM. Amazon Music HD.
There are built in balance, treble and bass controls. And their is a gain knob on the back of each speaker. So we got all this in a speaker from 2016.
Dynaudio is only just catching up and they aren't true powered active speaker with amps and power cords to both units. Especially A/B discrete analogue amps.
Yamaha is and are way ahead of any of the other companies out there. One other thing. These speakers also support Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant.
These are Mini Monitor speakers not very large at all. No HDMI or Dirac but who cares. They are based in Yamaha NS10M recording studio Monitors.
For some of the neutral sound they were renowned for but tuned with a more lively dynamic dynamism for a more musical sound in a home.
So these companies are way way way behind Yamaha. The fact that most of the active speaker companies are only just catching up including high end brands tells you how far ahead Yamaha is in the Audio industry.
SixMoons reviewed these and for near field all in one speakers these were described as an end game system, even if you are paying 5-10 times the RRP price.
These speakers are a little gem of engineering and it shows how far ahead Yamaha are with a product like this. There was not to equal it for an all in one network powered speaker at the time and even today they out perform and out feature a lot of network powered so called active speakers out there.

I got these in my living room. Lovely speakers. My only gripe with them is that it is either Dirac or a subwoofer. They do not work at the same time. I have good hope this will be addressed in a future firmware update.

Apple laptops (and desktops) are PCs (Personal Computers). Using "PC" in this video to try to refer only to Windows computers is super confusing.
Fair point. However, most people will associate PC with a Windows based system.

How are these compared to the Core 59 ?
Can you pair these with the Core sub ?
They serve different purposes. The Core 59 is a professional level studio monitor, whereas the Focus 10 is an active bookshelf speaker.
A Core sub could be paired with the Focus 10 using an RCA to XLR cable.
Put your foot down on this Matt. Playing audio for people to “hear” the speaker is dumb. The Audiophiliac Daily channel never demos the speaker, he just tells you how they preform. We come here to trust you on everything else, speakers shouldn’t be any different.

A dent or warping on the surface of a tweeter has the ability to negatively impact its performance.
Dynaudio have a video about speaker care which includes a method to rectify this issue.
